Does anyone have a good rec for a frag that does well with someone doing physical labor?

I already own Y Eau Fraiche and was potentially looking to buy:

- Terre d'Hermes Eau tres fraiche (if I can find it)
- Prada Luna Rossa Eau Sport Eau De Toilette (white one)

I have already sampled Encre Noire Sport Lalique which I plan on buying.

Other samples I have include (yes i know they're memes):
- GENTLE FLUIDITY
- HACIVAT
- GANYMEDE
- BOIS IMPERIAL
- ALLURE HOMME SPORT EAU EXTREME
- ELYSIUM

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I went noseblind to this the other day. I used to think noseblind just meant that after a while you get used to a smell and stop noticing it, which happens all the time with lots of things. But I put this on and instantly I could barely smell it and what I could smell was bad. Later that same day I was near the shops and went to Chanel to give it a whiff and the same thing happened. I've refrained from putting aftershave on for few days now to try and return to normal, because I usually love this fragrance, there was nothing in it that I disliked.

I have those cheap 5ml travel bottles from aliexpress, where you pump the perfume through a port on the bottom. Layering is one thing, but I'm tempted to mix perfumes inside of them (EN and EN A'L Extreme - I'd like more vetiver in my Extreme). Has anyone tried that, does it fuck up the smell?

Weird experience today.

Been trying out more designer stuff recently just to try and broaden my experience, and grabbed a bunch of free samples from a local Macy’s. Among them was Azzaro’s The Most Wanted Parfum, which I’m testing today.

Reason it’s weird, the top is a generic sweet smell, some people prob describe it as synthetic, eh whatever, but the drydown / heart of it has the EXACT same scent as the heart / drydown of Mousse Illuminee, which I love.

It’s this kind of smoky, grape-y scent. If the listed notes can be believed, there’s nothing similar between the two, but I swear it’s the same.

i was in berlin some months ago and honestly the density of arabs there is lower than in the big cities in NRW. wild times we live in.

on a related note, i highly recommend mekkanische rose in berlin. it was created by 2 brothers in 1982 and has been around ever since, only one of them is alive now. i was truly surprised by the quality of their scents, expecting generic arab dnas like swiss arabian (their non-dupe offerings). but to my surprise, the scents were really unique and has a high level throughout all scents, that was the most surprising to me. usually i like 1 or 2 scents from a fragrance house, but here everything was incredibly refined. a lot of their fragrances have an oriental touch, but not like what most people today would expect. this comes partly from their white florals and primarily jasmine, which was probably the most well done jasmine i've ever smelled. prices run from 0.5-1.5€ for their edt/edp. they sell their stuff online but their website is outdated, if anyone really cares enough i can take pics of their current catalogue. really an outstanding house imo

Agree, you hear always people say that Berlin is full with muslims and migrants.
I visited Frankfurt some time and was in shock how migrant filled it was, drug addicts in every corner. In the train there were 1 or 2 white people, all other browns or blacks. You know, something you would expect in Paris.
As a Berliner i can tell you that Berlin due to it's history has some kind of eastern european vibes. Got some brutalism architecture and the winters are grey, foggy, rainy. Germans are by nature cold and somwhat snotty. Salaries are the worst compared in other cities in Germany(east germans get paid less). You see alot of foreigners getting a winter depression in Berlin.
If you're not a german born or a nordic type it's nothing for you.

Well, Guerlain has been using the same flacon since 1905 until about 2002 when it was discontinued. Mine has a plastic cap instead of glass and the sticker at the bottom is transparent plastic, so it is among the last ever produced. Is it vintage by being more than 20 years old, but it is the least vintage out of all Après l‘Ondée extraits ever produced.

That‘s manageable. Guerlain has many affordable fragrances for girls/women in that price range in the Aqua Allegoria series. They‘re rather flowery/fruity though, so not that suited for autumn/winter. Ebay is a good place to pick up fully packaged Guerlains in that price range. A good smell accentuates good looks and fashion, but it will not save bad looks/fashion. Personality either.

Let me give you a -very- anecdotal example even though I know frag abhors the concept of wearing fragrances to get compliments.
I’ve been testing out fragrance samples at work for the past… at least five months, if not longer. Usually two a week, each one either two or three days. In that time I don’t believe I’ve received a single unprompted compliment (I do have a couple people I get opinions from to gauge smell and sillage).
Last weekend I bought a new pair of leather boots and have been breaking them in at work. This week I’ve had two different people, one man one woman, compliment me totally unprompted on my new boots.

Moral of the story is, humans are visual creatures. It is by far our strongest, most acutely tuned, and most relied upon sense. While smell can have a strong attachment to memory and emotion, it will not outweigh the visual, if the visual is off putting.

not really, most of them are a bit overpriced
"refined" is difficult to define, but you could look at a brand like Hermes or Costume National for some designers that walk their own path and try to be more niche in their approach. Guerlain is also like this for the most part and has been at it for a long, long time

It’s not just body temperature and rate of evaporation, women’s skin is fairly different than men’s, and can change even more wildly depending on menstrual cycles.

It’s not a guarantee the fragrance you end up picking for her will smell different on her skin, but it’s really something you need to consider as a possibility.
