They're useful in helping me know who to avoid like the plague.

It's funny that people are so against them. Sometimes I just put my hair up like that out of convenience. I get a few people who tell me they like my hair up like that, then others who tell me they love my long hair down. With thicker hair it gets too hot to have it down if you're doing anything active.

it made men dislike me and got more female attention than any other haircut, its not even close. and it made my temples recede slightly but i still have a better hairline than most teenagers these days so whatever.

Yeah! It made my temples recede slightly too. The hairspray didn't help, but the hairline issues stopped as soon as I stopped tying it so tight. I do more of a quick tie now and accept whatever stray curls I get from my damned spanish genetics.
It's so weird the effect a manbun can have on people's view of me while long hair usually gets me positive attention.
