I understand this mindset if you're heavily invested in the hobby, but I'm just testing the waters, I've never had a mechanical watch but they seem neat, I'm in the market for a dress watch, thin mechanical seem extra neat, my expectations aren't extraordinarily high, neither is my budget. I enjoy learning about the history and origins of the brands and their different stylings, the Russian watches almost seem alien to me, I've never seen much like them.

Check the movement specs.
Vintages generally don't hack. The 2209 for example doesn't.

A non hacking movement is still running when you're setting the time (the seconds hand keeps moving).
