No they are filled with synthetic materials aimed at instant comfort but will not hold up to actual use.
>b-b-but muh ecelebs on youtube said they're good
no. you will waste your time and money and still have uncomfortable footwear at the end of the day. spend the extra $100 and get something real.

Serious question about Docs.

I used my Doc Martens as a starting point to get into boots. I have them for 3 years at this point and only maintenance I've ever done was wash it with wet cloth, usually I just let rain clean them lmao. I even took them into forest many times(It was never planned, I would obviously use different shoes for a hike). That being said they are only pair of shoes that even survived 3 years in my life and they still seem basically as a "new". As a next pair of boots I will get something more legit, don't know what yet.

I've been wondering what do people mean by saying that they are shit, break easily don't last that long etc? What does it mean exactly in terms of years? Every single pair of shoes I've ever gotten before that weren't Ultraboosts or Yeezy 350s survived like 9 months tops. I feel like 3 years is really good deal and I can Definitelly get at least 2-3 more years and probably even more. They also helped as a conversation starter with few girls

You have to understand that the standards for footwear in this general are sky high. Also you probably haven't been exposed to "real" starting boots like Red Wing, and much less like Whites, Nicks, etc. in terms of quality of materials and construction.
For the vast mayority of people docs are fine, since they aren't gonna do work on them that will really ruin them (welding, construction, firefighting, etc.)
When people here talk about durability they're talking decades of heavy use, not years.

Also I need to get this off my chest
I wear socks 12+ hours a day
I am extremely happy with the socks I bought from them last year

If I tell people I bought socks that cost 24€ a pair they will call me stupid since you can buy perfectly fine socks from Marks & Spencer that cost four times less.
But I honestly feel spending a couple hundred on amazing socks is a much better use of money than spending a thousand dollars on a new iPhone every year.

Anyway people are not ready to have this conversation. They enjoy wasting money where it doesn't matter and skimping on the things that do.

TLB split toes arrived.

It's dark and indoors photo so the color is off.
I really like the leather up close, it's TLB's "vegano" which is from Annonay in France. A bit of a waxy feel to it and a little glossy but maybe they've already done something to it from the factory.

Finishing seems perfect as usual for TLB.
Sizing is good except that if I tighten the laces the facings almost touch. It's only a tiny bit loose overall so it should become very good with break in but too early to say.
All these years I thought I had high instep but I was also buying shoes a full size too small. So I guess my instep's not high.

Can anyone recommend me a service boot styled boot but made in England please. Something like the White’s MP, Viberg 2030 or 2040, GS Diesel, or Alden 4511/4512HC. I’m a USA E width which is a UK G width so wide sizes available please. I don’t wanna pay import fees anymore. Budget: ideally wanna keep it under £500 but can go a bit higher. Ugly. I dont wear plastic treads nor do I like obvious tread. Also, the boot bottle necks at the ankle, curving like the small of a womans back. Very gay. Dumbest thing I've read so far in this thread, that is the sign of a well made boot, when it goes straight up it means that it's basically trash and not designed well.
Your obviously don't want boots like that but Nicks has great casual boots, you can order these through the Wickett and Craig double stuff MTO with natural double stuff, 5" height with single piece back stay, HNW last, and v bar sole and brown edge color.
Basically, your taste in boots sucks.

Im not efay so sure maybe but the boot you posted looks like a womans back. There is a narrow curve there that grows to become a fertile waist. Do you not see it?

I like the reduced sole, wider laces
and the duller (more worn?) look of this one. I dont like the rearmost diagnol stiches that go from heel to toe, a litte too much.

But comparing the two I see the lack of curve at the rearof this one. Is there a middle ground or am I being to picky?

>>17860192
I never said I had good taste.
That has an uber thick heel like youre trying to height fraud. Also look at the rearmost portion, where the leather meets the heel. Its fraying. And it looks like a womans hips. Also stitching on the toe? The dark colour is nicer but narrow laces :/

>> No.17860201

>>17860196
>There is a narrow curve there that grows to become a fertile waist. Do you not see it?
Look at your leg, does your heel poke out and your Achilles curve in to where your calf is?
Your boots should mimic that anatomy but many don't because they are cheaply made.
The reason why you don't see as much curve is the angle that the previous one was at is different than the newer photo, the boot is also shorter, but the curve is still there, look at the bottom of the heel where your foot would rest and then the top of the boot, it goes inward.
