Bois Imperial is the best woody fragrance on the market. It's a fresh cut plank of wood or woody saw dust on 16k olfactory resolution, it satisfies casual fragrance enjoyers and and niche enthusiast.
The cherry on the cake is the fair price and 97% natural ingredients. The master perfumer Mr. Bisch did a great job on Bois Imperial and it's fully understandable admired on perfume forums with people who really have knowledge on fragrances.

I'd say something slightly more classic smelling, I have a bottle of vintage Quorum that I really like but can't say if the new formulation holds up, but that may be worth trying. Cerruti 1881 is also decent, but perhaps a bit too fresh and summery. Not so much when it dries down later, though. I could also recommend Paco Rabanne Pour Homme and Azzaro Pour Homme to some degree. And I haven't tried it but maybe Geoffrey Beene Bowling Green.

I haven’t actually sniffed it, but based on everything I’ve read Megamare seems to be unconventional in the sense that it lasts forever and is nuclear sillage.

Also it might only classify as a tangential aquatic, but Tonnere is *definitely* different and dark. On my very first whiff of it I got that aquatic note more than anything else, and it wasn’t until a little later that the smoke and tar started to become apparent. Frankly, going back and smelling it again I’m not even sure how I managed to get the aquatic note off the bat first, but I remember it vividly as the first impression.

I put on some Tonnerre a few hours ago just to try it again, and basically take that initial review with a massive grain of salt. I stand by my initial whiff of it, but since then I haven’t noticed the marine note again, it’s just smoke and tar allll the way down. I very, VERY briefly thought I smelled a pine tree covered in creosote somewhere in the dry down, but even that was a singular instance which I have not yet experienced again.

dali is indeed more interesting, but also more challenging. it's green-herbal, dark and warm at the same time and a little bit dirty. it's a masterpiece imo. zino is not dirty but sleazy. it's good but i felt like it was lacking something. i'd say buy dali if you think you can pull it off and if you still want zino buy it later, its like 15 bucks

Out of all of the blues I’ve tried, I liked Dior Sauvage EDT the best. YSL Y was too sweet, BDC was too sweet. My favorite Sauvage is Elixir but it’s so expensive I think I would feel like I’m wasting it every time I wear it. Maybe when it goes on sale.

However it's pretty basic and low end. It doesn't last more than an hour on me so when I spray it on in the morning I overdo it and am beginning to hate the smell. Are there any high end frags that are similar that I can upgrade to that are more moderate but longer lasting?

New York Intense is good, really like it, good rec bros. L'Air du Desert Marocain Tauer is very good, very Middle Eastern and beautiful, deep, nonlinear, really the only fragrance I would call "sexy" that I've ever smelled. Cannot get enough of this one.(update, my dog came into my room and started whining and tried to lick my wrist with this scent on it, and within a minute I got asked if I sprayed the dog with perfume). Rogue Mousse Illumine is alright as well, too much like a barn for me. Lumberjack Cologne by Strangers Perfumery is great as well, thanks a lot to the Anon that recommended me that. If it wasn't so expensive per ML I would buy it, still considering it, love it a lot. Kerosene Followed is so sweet it makes me want to yack, Follow is alright, Summer of 84 smells like popsicles and Secretions Magnifique. Unknown Pleasures is pretty good, definitely worth a try, I want to show this one to my friends. Winter of 99 is good, I like it, smells like a hunting shack out innawoods. Broken Theories is meh, pretty girly and flowery.
