I just want to talk to people who tried it. People here buy the weirdest niche stuff, like Prin where I don‘t even know which store sells it. So surely somebody here must have tried it and maybe has something interesting to say about it, for example if it smells shit in a certain climate. Just something interesting/good to know.

You called it overpriced, I share that sentiment, so it‘s reassuring to me that I‘m not simply frugal. I would have tried to buy a used one.

In my relatively short time here I’ve learned that even among the small community that is /frag/, there is the designer vs niche debate, but even the people who stand among the niche ranks only discuss and sample a small group of all the niche frag companies out there.

So in short, no, they really don’t buy the weirdest niche stuff. They buy the popular niche stuff, it is its own little condensed version of designer vs niche, except in this case no one is on the side of the niche niches.

I haven’t actually sniffed it, but based on everything I’ve read Megamare seems to be unconventional in the sense that it lasts forever and is nuclear sillage.

Also it might only classify as a tangential aquatic, but Tonnere is *definitely* different and dark. On my very first whiff of it I got that aquatic note more than anything else, and it wasn’t until a little later that the smoke and tar started to become apparent. Frankly, going back and smelling it again I’m not even sure how I managed to get the aquatic note off the bat first, but I remember it vividly as the first impression.

I stand by my initial whiff of it, but since then I haven’t noticed the marine note again, it’s just smoke and tar allll the way down. dali is indeed more interesting, but also more challenging. it's green-herbal, dark and warm at the same time and a little bit dirty. it's a masterpiece imo. zino is not dirty but sleazy. it's good but i felt like it was lacking something. i'd say buy dali if you think you can pull it off and if you still want zino buy it later, its like 15 bucks

My favorite fragrance has this profile:

Top: Bergamont, Marine, Pink Pepper, Ginger Blossom
Mid: Jasmine, Muguet, Sage, Mint
Base: Amber, Moss, Sandalwood, Tonka Bean

However it's pretty basic and low end. It doesn't last more than an hour on me so when I spray it on in the morning I overdo it and am beginning to hate the smell. Are there any high end frags that are similar that I can upgrade to that are more moderate but longer lasting?

New York Intense is good, really like it, good rec bros. L'Air du Desert Marocain Tauer is very good, very Middle Eastern and beautiful, deep, nonlinear, really the only fragrance I would call "sexy" that I've ever smelled. Cannot get enough of this one.(update, my dog came into my room and started whining and tried to lick my wrist with this scent on it, and within a minute I got asked if I sprayed the dog with perfume). Rogue Mousse Illumine is alright as well, too much like a barn for me. Lumberjack Cologne by Strangers Perfumery is great as well, thanks a lot to the Anon that recommended me that. If it wasn't so expensive per ML I would buy it, still considering it, love it a lot. Kerosene Followed is so sweet it makes me want to yack, Follow is alright, Summer of 84 smells like popsicles and Secretions Magnifique. Unknown Pleasures is pretty good, definitely worth a try, I want to show this one to my friends. Winter of 99 is good, I like it, smells like a hunting shack out innawoods. Broken Theories is meh, pretty girly and flowery.

TLDR: Listen to Anon.
