They are cool. Super expensive for what they are but I think they're unique enough to justify it (at least as much as you can justify a luxury watch). I would like to buy one eventually but it's pretty low on my priority list.

Cool concept, but grossly overpriced (they're $45,000) with complications that nobody actually wants. Their design team was going for that super minimalist design while making the dial way too busy.

Looking at the time and date on that, is it 10:11am, and the tenth? What are they 2 other sub dials? Why do I ever want to know the temperature on my wristwatch? Again, neat concept where the multiple dials and rings all spin independently but still legible by the wearer. Plus the oil-filled nonsense just gives it a really unique look. But they'll never sell any in meaningful quantities.

Lookup "hydromod" for watches. Its filling your case with mineral oil. It changes the viewing angle and sometimes makes dials really pop. Plus since its full of oil it cannot get water intrusion and will never corrode. BUT its a pain in the dick if you ever have to service the watch, and if it starts leaking out you have a perpetually oily watch that leaks on your skin and clothes until you disassemble it all, refill, and make it oil-tight again.

There was an anon in /wt/ that hydromodded his watch. Said it was neat but would never do it again after getting a bubble in it.

Get one for <500.
There's usually no discernible difference to (you) for stuff ranging from about 250 to 1k+.
>b-but I saf uppies one grand my grandma gave me for birfday...
Don't care retard. Save up more. 500 to $5000 is the shitterzone of mountains of nigh indistinguishable insipid shit over and over made in china with a different logo slapped on. Just cut out the middleman and go full unabashed chink for 250.
Buying in the shitterzone almost always is a cope for something grander you actually want and usually results in regret.
Ask the anon itt who's trying desperately to get rid of the pile of shitters he misguidedly bought over the years.
This is especially pertinent to understand since you're asking such a basic ass question meaning you don't know shit. Don't spend 1k on anything if you have to come to the 3rd most homo board on this shitty site for info about mens boomer jewelry.

I don't think the sales on these were as good.

Blancpain is not a well-known brand, the cost is higher than the Moonswatch, and I think a lot of people were turned off by the hype-cycle of the last one.

>I like symmetry too but the 3 6 9 aren't meant to be equal thickness to the indicies.

It's definitely a better aesthetic. Imagine you're printing something and the font is fucked up with numbers being thinner than the the letter it's just odd and unattractive. It's a glaring design fuckup.

If it was Casio or some bargain bin brand you could say "oh well they used whatever indexes they already had on hand, can't expect an all tailored 200$ watch" but this is supposed to be premium.

They used 1 for every index, but unlike Rolex they actually made a custom 2 for 12. Meanwhile Rolex has a stupid triangle instead. I bet a 2 costs more than a triangle does.

And the end result of using uniform shapes just looks so much better.

Bulova are interesting, but their watches are all hideous. Look at it, it's so fucking ugly.

Citizen who own Bulova should use that movement for something else.

Seiko alpinist, Seiko Sarb, or as others have said, Hamilton. I'd go with a Jazzmaster or Hamilton Murph personally. Good midrange watches that still look nice. At 500-1000 dollars you want something that still has a decent movement, sapphire glass, and has a good reputation as a company.

Btw, here's how Seiko is finishing the spring drive movement. Quite respectable for a quartz which doens't have many gears to show. I'm not going to compare this to an Oysterquartz, you know what it looks like.

>>17808271
I almost like it except for one thing. The smooth case looks incredibly cheap. Having no edges and no different surfaces it's just a one smooth metal pebble it screams they were saving the money on machining and just made it a simple diecast piece.

Look at the sneedmaster's elaborate fluted lugs with high polish on the outside and brush finish inside and then at that.
