What’s your bottles to sample/decants ratio, and how long have you been into frag?

>>17802049
around 50/80 but it's a bit skewed because i have 20ish small oil/tincture bottles that were sometimes cheaper than some of my decants. around 5 bottles are cheapies i regret buying in the beginning, i'll donate them somewhere soon. i also give away and trade samples quite regularly so i'm testing a lot without my collection getting bigger.

If I've learned anything from my past girlfriends, I don't want to attract these women. One straight up told me (while I was playing Escape from Tarkov, grinding, nonetheless) that she thought her dad never loved her and that he loved her sister more. Girlfriend after that grew up without a dad, I learned she had really no personality or substance at all, broke up pretty quick. After that I spent time with a girl I grew up with who thinks she is a boy (she still does to this day, I imagine) but she was still pretty cute when she wasn't crashing her car into a parking lot pole because she was off of her meds. No thanks. What should I be wearing to attract normal, conservative girls with father figures?

>competent near-clones of already massively popular fragrances
So I would be correct to assume that the montblanc fragrances are considerably cheaper than the originals? Seeing as they are near-clones.
>you don't want to go full Arab
What a coincidence for you to mention this. I'm not very familiar with a lot of different Arabian fragrances, but I have used a couple and the one I'm currently using right now is Arabian Leather Musk from Arabian Oud (www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Arabian-Oud/Arabian-Leather-Musk-76555.html) which I honestly really, really like. Don't get me wrong, I'm not back. You guys don't deserve me after you chased me out last time. Just wanted to demand happy birthday wishes (it was on 9/11), and share that my Toskovat set arrived right on my birthday. Pretty great house, would recommend. Can't believe that one anon had Inexcusable Evil as his signature fragrance, it literally smells like blood. I almost blind bought it too, but decided to go for the discovery set. Unfortunately I couldn't pick something for myself, but I might buy Я for my mom, or maybe I'll just buy a bottle of Generation Godard and save it as a gift for my future gf when I get one. The only one I liked for myself was Silent at the Theme Park, but you only get one 50% discount code, and I'm not sure I want it. I still gotta order a Roelen and a Tepe bottle as well, and Beaufort are coming out with a new fragrance soon. Gotta get Rake & Ruin as well, so my backlog is already at 3 fairly expensive bottles. I'm already at 100 fragrances too, just haven't updated my excel with the Pineward and Tepe comments still.

Aside from that I'm still not going to continue blessing your awful thread with my presence.

I received my testers today. I’ve done a small bit of testing so far. I decided to try on Toy Boy first. It opens up with a very pleasant deep rose scent and it’s nicer than I’d expected it to be. I don’t see why it’s polarizing. I then did three strip tests. H24 is remarkably boring. I imagine it’s a good everyday fragrance but it’s quite boring. Amouage Gold is fantastic but I can only see myself wearing it in situations like church or meetings, I still enjoy it very much. Last one I tried is le male, and it’s absolutely amazing, right off the bat it’s fantastic sweet and warm. Im letting them dry for awhile and I’ll see how they’ve changed in about 15 more minutes.

I've been preaching this for thread after thread. A lot of things people call "winter fragrances" work perfectly fine in high heat. You just have to realize that nobody out there knows that something can smell "cloying" (lmao), they only know whether you smell good or bad. If someone tells you you smell "cloying" tell them to pull their snobbish nose out of their ass and that you aren't troubled enough to own multiple bottles of smelly water (that would be absurd). Shuts those people up real quick because a lot of "fragheads" really need a reality check when it comes to how many fragrances the average person owns (it's 1).

>What is Iris Gris?
legendary unobtanium perfume by jacques fath from the mid-50s, was only in production for a handful of years before the couturier house itself shuttered. considered by some to be the greatest perfume of all time, and just recently revived in the form of l’iris de fath.
>The ability possessed by certain fragrances to briefly turn the most arid mind into a fairy garden, to make us lament the passing of loves and losses we know full well we never had, is a miracle specific to perfumery. Alas! Nostalgia, as Simone Signoret said, is not what it used to be, and poetic perfumes are rare, getting rarer. Though never easy to get hold of, Après l’Ondée was at least available and until recently could be relied upon to elicit silent, inward tears on demand. But the mother of all fées was always Iris Gris. It was composed, supposedly in a tearing hurry, by Vincent Roubert. I have heard him described as lazy by industrious perfumers who knew him, with unconcealed irritation at the fact that the gods entrusted a breezy carrier with their most poignant message. Iris Gris is that impossible thing, a hopeful iris, obtained by overlaying the velvet gloom of top-notch iris root with a pearlescent sheen of fresh, transparent red fruit. Sunset dressed as dawn.

Part of my order yesterday, also I got a decant of Krissana, varuek and Nilmalee and 0.3ml samples of what I assume is the entire Prin, Prissana and Rogue lines, so if anyone want me to test an specific fragrance from those, let me know.

Bon Monsieur is a classic fougere, similar to mousse iluminee with less focus on the oakmoss. Chypre syam is a classic chypre with a really distinct and beautiful citric top note that dries into a soapy leathery accord and Targhee forest is kind of a middle ground between bon Monsieur and a chypre. I need to test it more but I might even like it more than bon Monsieur.

Gonna agree with this anon. Bois Imperial is high class niche but for a designer price.
Spraying it the first time will have a mindblowing effect on you. The akigalawood is masterful blended, it smells like photorealistic saw dust, realistic fresh plank of woods.
The ultimate woody scent, or the best ever created scent?
The sensual spices, like pepper, basil and patchouli give the already amazing base of Akigala a seductive layer if hotness.
On top of that, the cherry on the cake(so to speak) is the outstanding longevity and 97% of natural ingredients.
A must in everybodies collection. A costumer even posted us some pictures where he scored a white girl, must be pure magic that scent called "Boys Imperial".

Just dabbed it on my wrist. Deep, aromatic , woody, smokey and surprisingly, knowing that it has actual skunk tincture , just slightly animalic. It's also, slightly sweet, leathery and I can also detect some dusty varnish wood smell. The more it dries down the more I like it . The animalic part gets mellower and it fluctuates and mutates between the aromatics herbs and old furniture/old paper/ink.

Black Saffron
Like a lighter, more floral version of Tuscan Leather, very nice.

It’s meant to smell like old books. Instead I get a cloying powdery plum note with some leather undertones. Not blown away by this.

Bal d'Afrique
Fairly generic citrus/woody/aromatic fragrance. Smells like something Creed would make. Lasts about as long as well (2 hours).

I might get a full sample or decant of Black Saffron. Will report back once I’ve had a few wears.

I've been to the gas station three times already, even though I'm almost at a full tank, and I "accidentally" spilled some on myself. I even tasted a little. Please help.

I liked DHS but didn't find it super appealing for everyday use. I'm kind of in love with LADAS but the performance on my skin was poor (less than 4h). cdg2 feels very distant for everyday wear as well, I much prefer to wear it during the evening going for a walk or similar.

Bought an ELDO sample kit.

90% of them smell like shit, too much powder and rose. Didn’t even include Rein, Jasmine Cig or Secretions Magnifique in the pack which I wanted to try.

Ghost in the Shell was the only one I really liked. Weirdly natural and synthetic at the same time. Pleasant metallic soapy note. Very well done.

Fat Electrician disappointing, don’t get the hype.

You or Someone Like You smells like really nice mint and dries down into cat piss. Had to scrub.

Suede (Tom of Finland) would probably be nice if you’re a gigantic faggot into leather bondage.

Spice Must Flow was okay, amber and rose is an interesting combo but not very wearable. Would make a good candle/home scent.

Rest of them left little to no impression and about 25% of them were genuinely repulsive.

Citrus, woody and spicy notes. Citrus and woody are required, the spicy bit is optional but preferred. Citrus notes are my favorite, specially bergamot.

Be myself and stand out, definitely both. If I smell good I am being myself.

I don't really remember the smell of Sauvage elixir. I can just walk into a store and spray a tester on me. I don't understand why sauvage gets shit so much on recent reviews I've checked. I like men, I smell this on another man and I get an instant boner.

I've tried it, it's a splendid quality frag and you ought to try it out if you're into incense.
Performance aside, it smells like smokey, charred, burnt olibanum with some myrrh, black pepper and some other nondescript spice, and it gives a very dark, eerie impression to me.
The charred, burn part is quite different from any other incense frag I've tried, and is the reason why you should sample it before committing to a full bottle.
Performance is about as good as it gets on my skin.
It's a better frag than Avignon in both performance and realism, but Cardinal is the most accurate "church incense" frag I've tried, better than LAVS in this regard, even if performance is even worse than Avignon's.
