Lmao, the whole modern middle, higher middle class smell like failure. Average wage slaving male in the west is softer and without integrity like the average women.
Scents like that Bleu de Chanel, Sauvage, Erba Pura, Eros, Y Ysl, Elysium, Apex you name it, scents in that ballpark.

The based boomer father with Gucci Nobile or Drakkar Noir on, successfully build a company and hand it over to his zoomer son. That incompentent zoomer son, smelling like a concoction of ambroxan, tonka and candied vetiver literally ruins a multi million dollar worth company into oblivion.

Part 2

>> No.17792908

>>17791639
On September 17, 1986, my near-lifeless body was dropped off at the Betty Ford Clinic in Rancho Mirage, California. Stocky orderlies scooped me up and dragged me down a hallway as crowds of zoned-out patients gazed on. Even in my incoherent, skeletal state, I could feel their pain. I too was an addict. Only instead of popping pills or snorting powder, my addiction -nay, my abusive overlord- was "Drakkar Noir."

It started innocently enough. When I first sprayed "Drakkar Noir" on my wrists one autumn day in 1983. I began wearing the scent to my job as a Hollywood car phone salesman and was amazed at the compliments. In the span of one week, I was propositioned by an assistant sound technician from "Three's Company" and a fine woman who may or may not have been Mrs. Garrett from "The Facts of Life" (a gentleman never kisses and tells). Soon I was wearing "Drakkar Noir" when no one else was around. Before long, I had crafted a make-shift pump system in my shower that dispensed the fragrance in the place of water. I smelled amazing and alive, but in my soul, I was anything but.

I had placed myself on an IV that delivered a constant feed of "Drakkar Noir" into my bloodstream. It was the only way I could stave off both severe nausea and the sense that I was somehow not a worthy person unless I reeked of lavender and bergamot. My friends had done everything they could, from smashing the crates of "Drakkar Noir" in my garage to pleading with me to at least switch to the less toxic "Brut." I refused. And I paid the price. Jesus Christ had not forsaken me, but it sure felt like Guy Laroche had.

Addiction recovery is a slow process. Do not let anyone tell you differently. During the year I spent in the clinic, I had to confront a new demon each time they reduced my "Drakkar Noir" intake by one bottle. Suffice it to say, "Drakkar Noir" is an addictive scent. It is an otherworldly scent. But we must remember to be humble and enjoy what we enjoy in moderation.

As for those nice, original and cheap fragrances, does anything come to mind considering my picks? 100ml of Egoiste is 10% of my monthly earnings, and while I'll certainly buy some high-performing frag for dates or important events, I would prefer to have a cheap seasonal pick base before that.

good:
>Encre Noire and all flankers. Extreme is my favorite. Sport smells great, but performs badly.
>Egoiste Platinum
>Dior Homme

okay:
>CK One Shock

I haven't tried the others. If you like Platinum Egoiste, you could try Lalique Pour Homme. It smells more more old school / traditional, but does have some similarities with that aromatic top and creamy sandalwood base.
And I recommends Burberry London instead of CK One Shock. Or Oud Malaki if you can test it somewhere. Jeanne en Provence Neroli Intense and Acqua are worth grabbing for warm weather if you're on a tight budget, they are very cheap.

I really like it still I just want a change.

Its just average in terms of silage/wear, at the end of the day it wasnt all thier but you could still smell it skin level but I do get pretty nose blind. You can still smell it the day after on old clothes etc. I think I bought it when it was 80 now its 110.

Yes, and it wasn't even an old one or particularly niche one. It was Nuit d'Issey Noir Argent. A sub-30$ bottle of something easily wearable daily, yet unique and absolutely not worn by anyone else. My bottle is long empty.
It has been replaced by nothing. The regular Nuit d'Issey is sweet fruity shit in comparison, the Parfum has vanilla, which Noir Argent distinctively lacks and absolutely doesn't need. Haven't found something comparable yet. It was made by Ropion and somehow it was an original thought from him, so I expect the DNA to emerge in 2-3 years in something """niche""" at 548534895347956x the price.

SOTE: Dusita Oudh Infini. I typically use it for layering when I want to add some depth, warmness and funk to other fragrances but this time I just sprayed it 5 times as in staying home tonight. There’s some fine pleasure to smelling like a shit. Just like catching a whiff of girls ass when you’re both sweaty and fucking rough doggy style. I also tested my remaining samples of Apoteker Tepe: Holy Mountain, After the Flood, Brother Night and Karasa. It’s a very solid brand and there was some intelligence put into every fragrance. E.g. Holy Mountain would be a rather routine Incense conifer representative of the Norne/Incendo/Fume genre but camomile note makes it stand out. Karasa is a great paper iris Oud fragrance. After The Flood is an aquatic made in Gardoni’s Bogue style but it’s not taking things as far as Doleurs (and it’s the most unusual Apoteker scent).
>>17794501
It was a 30ml this time as I was traveling a lot of it and they’re just perfectly sized but overall I typically finish a few bottles over summers. This time pic related plus quite big dents made in a handful of other bottles.

I haven't. But people claim it is similar to Arsalan that I have. The opening of Arsalan was one of the most hardcore things I have tried; the intense body odor note mixed with spices that smell like coming back in a crowded bus full of indian physical workers on a hot day. After the opening it was an absolutely stunning fragrance though. It has the best done tumeric note that I can think of and the gardenia+jasmine accord is really rich. Some funk still lingers around but it's not a hardcore BO-funk from the opening.

Antaeus is the scarier of the two. When you first smell it, it might evoke the worst kind of dated garbage, but within a few seconds you'll realize they nailed it. And I'm talking about current formulation. Maybe it was way better in the 80s, but the stuff they have for sale now is terrific.
