Here are my thoughts on the Apple Watch:

First off, let's talk about convenience. The Apple Watch has seamlessly integrated itself into my daily routine, providing quick access to notifications, messages, and calls without having to constantly pull out my phone. This level of connectivity has not only saved me time but has also allowed me to stay engaged in real-life moments without getting lost in my device.

Fitness tracking is another aspect that sets the Apple Watch apart. The comprehensive health features, from heart rate monitoring to activity tracking, have genuinely motivated me to lead a more active lifestyle. The subtle reminders to stand up and move around during the day have made a significant impact on my overall well-being.

The ability to customize watch faces and bands is a unique feature that lets me express my personal style. I can effortlessly switch between a professional look for work and a more casual one for my evening jog. It's like having a collection of watches in one!

But let's not forget about the impressive range of third-party apps. From meditation and mindfulness tools to finance and productivity apps, the Apple Watch has transformed into a mini-companion that helps me tackle various aspects of my life.

Apple Watch isn't just a gadget; it's a lifestyle enhancer. It seamlessly integrates into my life, motivates me to stay healthy, keeps me connected, and offers an array of useful features that genuinely improve my day-to-day experiences.

"Suggest a watch for me."
> Your budget
As cheap as possible.
> Watch type, e.g. dress, diver, pilot
Ideally a gold sports watch, can be new or vintage, but really just anything actually made of gold and on a bracelet so it's noot dressy but more on the casual side
> Movement, e.g. automatic, hand wound, quartz
Doesn't matter
> Desired features, e.g. water resistance, day/date, 2nd time zone
Doesn't matter
> Preferred strap option, e.g. leather, nylon, bracelet
Solid gold Bracelet
> Wrist size or desired watch size
7inches, anywhere between 36mm and 42mm

If everything works out I'll just get a gold oysterquartz daydate but if it doesn't I need a cheaper option. I remember some anon buying a solid gold dress watch for less than it would be worth it's weight in gold. That would be a hell of a find.

I’m used to wearing a steel bracelet now for my nice watch. I don’t like digital much. I’ve been wearing the f91w at work but I like the feel and look of an analogue watch. But I can’t wear my nice watch 10-12 hours a day which bothers me. Most of my life is spent working like a slave and I’m not too keen on wearing a digital watch. The fogmaster almost never has the battery at high anymore, almost always at mid. Sure it goes to high for like 2 days after going in the sun but it used to always stay at high unless it slept in a drawer for too long. Should I replace the battery now? I'm feeling kinda sad over the state of the watch industry can someone cheer me up?

There are so many different brands and yet it seems like they all make the same watch with slight differences. And it's not like they rip off creative brands but they rip off boring brands like Rolex who you buy not for the design but the flex factor, heritage and built quality.

I thought about trying to design watches myself but I realized that making unique designs instead of Rolex/Royal Oak cope won't sell.

Well, bel canto and moonglow aren't cope watches and yet they sell very well apparently?
A lot of microbrands focus on reissue of models out of production and cheaper rip offs of expensive watches because it's the easiest way to bootstrap a watch brand when it's just a couple of dudes having their watches built in PRC.
That doesn't mean there's no demand for new things. More that innovating tastefully on how to put 3 hands on a dial is quite tricky to achieve.

That's what makes me so sad. Everyone is scared of experimentation and playing it safe except fashion watch brands that make ridiculous tacky shit. But there is an area between safe boring designs and fashion watches imo. Back then watch brands dared to try something different.

WELL I finally gave in and decided to buy my first sports watch, was thinking about asking my family friend AD if I could skip the cuck line and just buy an this but then I thought about it and realized the lifestyle that I want won't really work with this watch because I don't want to vegitate in some fat american suburb forever I want to travel through eastern europe and latam with my remote job and with a 6000$ watch I'd literally always be paranoid about it getting stolen so I just went for the last longines conquest in the same color as my cope watch

IDK about the ticket but you gotta take into account the transport there and back (a grand or two even if you're from europe), accomodation (another grand or two), food, other expenses, and as you mentioned you have to look the part to not stick out like a sore thumb... For that money i could also buy a solid watch, and if i can't afford a watch by itself how am i going to afford a trip to a watch expo in geneva ? Then again i'm really poor, idk what you imagine as being poor.

Don't sell yourself short. Certainly people have noticed. They just didn't care because they know it's an entry-level Rolex.

They're being polite. Complimenting your Rolex would be implicitly calling you out for your poverty and that would be incredibly rude.

Rolex made 1,200,000 watches in 2022.
Vacheron Constantin made 21,000.
Patek Phillipe made 34,000.

People act like Rolexes are hard to get, but there many Daytonas/Submariners/etc. on Chrono24 (if you're willing to pay extra). Honestly, they're pretty fucking common.

But the ultra-high end brands like VC and PP make far fewer watches, so they are genuinely hard to get. It's not a matter of price anymore—but these companies may only make 50 of a specific watch/color per year, of those 50 only 2-3 are going to an AD/boutique near you.

i have an x-33. the reason for the low rating is because the back plate design is specifically made to be more acoustically conducive.

the alarm (80db) is made to be heard in very loud environments (like when you're riding a space rocket) and the perforated case is the secret to that.

i've also owned the aerospace and the alarms aren't even close, so the aerospace sacrifices decibels for water rating.

but you're right, the x-33 is not a watch that mixes well with wet conditions so if that's the environment you're in, it's not a good option.
