Redpill me on spending $400 on full grain leather boots instead of spending $20 for 20 years. Wouldn't the boots stink really bad after a while?

no anon you clean them. $20 will look like shit in 6 months meaning you will look like shit half the time.
It just depends on what you value. Boot faggots usually don't want disposable clothing anymore

how do you clean build up of perspiration and odor penetratrated into leather over years?

It doesn't really penetrate into leather, it's usually the insole and any lining they may have. I have a pair of full grain leather work boots I have beaten to shit in construction and automotive summer and winter daily for 4 years. I've abused the shit out of them. They actually don't smell that bad, and my feet don't exactly smell like roses.

I've also had a daily pair of vans for 2 years. The vans literally smell worse. That shit gets trapped in canvas and shoe internals 10 times worse than straight up leather and thin liner.

You can also clean boots.

You retard he means $20 a year for 20 years as oppose to $400 leather boots that last 20+ years

Leather breathes very well, most people use wool socks, shoe trees help with the smell too. All of my boots smell fresh as fuck.

You can do what you want.
Personally I bought 8 pairs of shoes over the last 2 years, all "good" brands like Jordan and Adidas, but they all end up wearing to shit, with little random holes on the inner stitching, start yellowing or just become uncomfortable, also they look ugly now, I don't know if I just got sick of them or what.
Leather boots are timeless.
Best pair of shoes I ever owned were a pair of suede chukka boots I got from a thrift store for 15 bucks. Wore the soles right down to the vynil.
I just splashed out on a pair of RM Williams, I hope I get at least a solid year out of dailying them.

It's about quality. First of all, you won't be finding $20 sneakers unless they are sketchers, so right out the gate your argument fails and boots are actually a lot cheaper in the long run. Also natural materials like leather look good as they age, as opposed to synthetic materials which only look good new. Leather is a natural odor resistant material, and shoe trees help them stay smelling fresh. It's worth it.

My non-autistic friends told me that you need to take off your boots at least once a day and they won't smell. They also said that you need to shower while barefoot.
