>Preferably not a fountain pen or something super autistic, just a nice heavy pen that feels good and writes smooth like a pilot g2.
The more autistic you go, the better you can tailor that shit. I don't recommend fountains to people who do not do lots of writing. Who actually enjoy writing, for longer periods of time.
Unfortunately the disposable cartridge world of pens is beyond my scope. I have them and use them of course, but I don't use them enough to recommend. I could recommend some shit but in my eyes it's all just that: shit. Because ballpens, rollerballs and all other forms are shit imo, cept ballpens do have their uses. I no longer have any use for a mech pencil.
Avoid rollerballs as they are the worst of both worlds: liquid ink that's picky with paper quality and a disposable cartridge that's costlier than a ballpoint. No point.

Don't want to think? Don't have any preferences? Do what everyone else does and go to a montblanc boutique and pick out a BALLpen, not roller, that's to your liking.
Like going to a Rolex AD and skipping everything else.
There' other brands out there, but I cbf listing them all.
Buy a mb. The end.

Patek makes 60k+ watches a year. LF makes a few hundreds.

On balance, he gets more respect than most. He's honest about the fact that he's shilling watches, not just """reviewing""" them.

He is being deceptive when he talks about what size wrist a given watch is suitable for. Then again, though, he sort of gets a pass because he's just an employee working for a check. It's not like these are his watches. He's just an employee of Govberg.

it's neither, but I think it was optimism since the prices have increased due to "inflation"
obviously when inflation cools the raw materials/labour costs won't be as much
so you'd expect in a normal world for the actual item cost to go down to reflect this
but you are correct in pointing out these are luxury items, and that they'll just keep the heightened price and pocket the increased margin

I finally bought a Rolex. I saved up my money, did the gay little dance at the AD buying jewelry for my whore wife. Then I finally got the call. I was so excited that I ran over and bought it immediately. I wore it out and admired it for hours. Later while I was staring at it I suddenly thought about wtf I was doing. It transformed from a ROLEXROLEXROLEXROLEX to just another watch. A $10,000 hunk of metal. I realized the only reason I thought any more of Rolex compared to any other watch was because I valued the opinions of a bunch of greasy online watch autists. No one I’ve ever met has commented on any of my watches except to say that I should get a fucking Apple Watch. I don’t even know how to swim.

To be fair the amount of "homage" and knockoffs the submariner got over the years made me see that design as cheap and tacky. I just can't see it as anything but useless seeing how there are submariners from other companies with the same quality for like 500 dollars.

It's funny because the current CEO is extremely financially savvy and basically tripled their revenue over his tenure yet AP's brand image has taken massive L after massive L over that same time with the 11:59, Marvel watches, discontinuing historical model lines, and even replacing the 15202 which was THE AP with a watch that many (myself included) consider a downgrade or sidegrade at best.

I'm curious about whether the board of directors at AP actually care about how they're perceived within the industry or if they're just happy with the massive growth they've experienced by consolidating their points of sale and doubling down on the Royal Oak. I do not think their growth is sustainable.

I might be landing a job soon, which will leave me with around $25k from the exit package I received from my previous gig.

I want to kinda celebrate recovering and remember this instance, so I thought I'd buy something more extravagant.

My current collection is a Casioak, a DW5600, a A168WG, a Casio Marlin and a 40mm PRX Quartz.

I'd rather stay all quartz (I would hate to care about repair) or even get something solar powered, and I value wearability, so I was thinking about a titanium Citizen, but nothing stands out. I'm also considering the Seiko 5 GMT but I feel kinda stupid buying an auto, despite loving the looks.

Current tastes don't match Breguet. The pleb consumer wants sports watches and those who don't look to Patek or Lange dress watches. They shouldn't because Breguet mogs most Pateks under $80k or so but the Patek consumer is basically an NPC who thinks paying more means the watch is better.

Dropped a snxs79j1 on it's face as I was putting it on or off at home, I was wearing it on a nato 2piece strap and it was very slippery. I haven't repaired this, but I think 2 of the hands have popped out of their place. I think something less hefty (like a quartz) would have survived this fall.

My other Seiko 5 was an SNXJ89K that I was wearing while serving in the army, and one day I was tasked with carrying some artillery stuff and banged it somewhere and the date window cover came off. I took it to a repair shop that said they'll take care of it and they actually superglued it on, with glue now all over the dial. The watch was also quite battle scarred anyway, so not a huge loss.
