So yeah, I'd like to know what's a respectable location and type of accomodation for someone to live that they can show to someone on the internet without them thinking you're a chav or a favela monkey or whatever, what do you think? How big does a penthouse in Florence have to be for example to not look like poverty housing on the internet? What if you're not in a major world city, do any cities outside of capitals of their respective countries even count?

to be honest omega is junk that should be in the same price range as tissot or longines or something like that. i think some people take watches too seriously and get outright offended by omega. i mean, they make ridicilously thick watches because they insist on using a movement that is by any measurable metric inferior to the ones you can find in watches which are less than half in price, that are prone to sudden failure, near impossible to maintain and service independently so you rely on omega customer service which is not the greatest, then there are horror stories about poor jobs when watch is sent for service, it being returned with dust and grime inside the case when it was clean beforehand etc etc
also, im sure some of them are trolls who dont really care, but exploit the fact that omega fans and owners, at least those who post here, seem to be very insecure and whiny.
personally, im in the i dont give a shit group. im only slightly offended by how trash omega is, but i still fall in IDGAS group because i find their watches to be really repulsive looking. similar to IWC, though their crime is making the most washed out bland and boring watches ever. i feel the same way about baseball, canada, conflicts in middle east, all of sub saharan africa... you get my point

It's a reedition of an old watch. There are various interpretations of why the dial is tilted but the most common one is it was used by drivers who found it more convenient to read the time that way.

Overpriced for what amounts to a Chinese made watch masquerading as Swiss and thus charging accordingly.
Reminder that if you see images of special forces around the world, frogmen, even regular infantry 9 rimes /10 they're wearing a g-shock of some kind. If not that it's a garmin or suunto. Nobody actually wears a "govt contract" watch in this day and age. Certainly not those maratac. 100% marketing gimmick for ripping off boomers who want to larp.
Most infantry are wearing gps garmin because they're more retarded than ever before and get lost on their own bases.
A digital quartz watch with no moving parts is more durable than an analog quartz which is in turn more durable than a mechanical watch. Guess which kind is worn by larpers and which worn as an actual tool by those that need one.

LUXURY WATCHES are a completely modern fabrication created after the swiss watch market was destroyed by cheap quartz watches that were in every way better than what the Swiss ever made.
>babe we're going to be late to meet my parents
REMEMBER when I told you about how the "quartz crisis" was actually the "quartz revolution" before the swiss lied to the world? To survive the swiss had to go from making the most advanced technology available at the time to making luxury priced antiques. This is where the lesson on economics I gave you earlier comes into effect.
>sir, red or white?
TO UNDERSTAND the current swiss market you actually have to go back to when the United States and England were the biggest watch markets in the world before swiss mass produced cheap watches destroyed the American and British markets...

What are some stylish watches that have ultimate legibility?

I am regarded and when a watch doesn't have the hours and minutes written out it takes me a short while to tell the time. Not long but it doesn't truly feel effortless. I also dislike busy dials with, for me, unnecessary markings like the tachymeter.

>> No.17729264

>>17729247
>stylish
subjective
>legibility
objective
what makes a watch legible was codified during the inter-war period by various national military governing bodies
they universally include
>black dial
>white numerals and hands
almost always coated in some kind of luminescent material
there's some leeway in replacing the numerals with large indices, such as in the 50's as with the Blancpain FF and Rolex Sub and onward.
if you disregard the modern iterations of the above, because there's always some fucking nog that'll go
>hurrrr they're not stylish
you're not left with much
"field watches"
again
>hurr not stylish
you're going to have to be more specific with what you want
legibility is easy: dark dial, light lumed incides and hands
that's what makes shit legible
everything else comes extra
what is your extra?

Last week I went to the Rolex store in the GUM shopping mall across the street from Red Square. I saw an all-gold Day-Date in the display case and I asked the sales lady with big fake lips how much it costs. She said 7.5 million Rubles. Then she and the two security guards started smiling and trying to hold back laughter. Then I turned around and walked out of the store.

Since the age of 18 I have been building up my credit score. I currently have a credit score of 816. I have 36 credit cards and I try to max them out to invest. I dumo huge sums into a riskier stock or even a crypto currency if I'm feeling lucky and I rotate the debt onto the other cards for a couple months until I've made a decent sum and am ready to repay. >Is pen collecting autism?
Yes. Worse than watch "collecting".
It's only collecting if you're going the vintage route and restore your own shit; buying cheap, modern and easily available plastic crap in droves does not make a collection. It's just another accumulation like a drawer full of shitter watches.
If I could liken pen shit to anything I suppose it might be akin to the freaks that buy more than one mechanical keyboard. Like pens and watches, unless you're a weirdo, you only really use one keyboard, pen or watch at once. Okay pens there is some case for multi use but you're probably an artist or something in that case so it's a tool not a unnecessary trinket.
Unlike watches but like keyboards you can tailor your experience to exactly how you like it, and there are so many variables; with watches it's just "strap or bracelet". The pen/paper/ink triumvirate can be customised for whatever task or predilection you have going. There's some fun in that.

As with watches, and keyboards too I would suppose as I'm not into that shit, buy one pen and stick with it and use it for everything everyday. No more. Beyond that leads to mental clutter and ruin.

My current everyday watch, sent it in to Tag to get fixed. Tag Heuer Carrera 1887 - the watch has Swiss externals, and Japanese internals made by Seiko. I believe it’s discontinued, but you can get one used for around 2.5-3k Can’t recommend it enough, but it is quite large so if you have lanklet wrists it may not be a good choice.
