now this watch is a handsome evocative
and unconventional take on the modern
wire look Radiomir designed to emulate
late 1930s reference 3/6 4/6 prototypes
hence the appearance of the 12 sided
breathittotto or patent bezel now the
watch is very different from your
standard modern wire luck Radiomir
we may as well talk about the dimensions
and then describe how it deviates but
you can already see a little bit on the
dial side 57 millimeters across the
round of the case the watch is thick but
not excessively so just under 21
millimeters twenty point nine
millimeters thick I would actually say
that because of the step of the case
flank between the bezel and the
rounded edge you could probably wear
this underneath a dress cuff from lug
to lug it's it's fairly wearable the
watch is 57 millimeters square
effectively but if you were to measure
to the outer edge of the wire style lugs
you would get 63 millimeters I believe
that it wears far more compact than that
number suggests so you really need to
try it in my estimation this watch could
be worn with a handsome proportion and
security on a wrist as small as 12
centimeters in circumference the wire

you shouldnt really dive with rolex submariner as it only has 300m of wr which is insufficient. you need at least 600 to consider freediving. you can shower with your watch, wash your hands, even hang out in a shallow pool, but dont clap underwater and you are good to go

So, I’ve looked into this watch. Everything I can find online points to it being from the 40s even though I’m unable to find a match with the markers it has. Regardless I think I’m going to buy it, it’s only $1,100 and it looks pretty great and is in working condition

I sent back the green version of the kamasu, It wasn't jiving with me. Really liking the red version so far, and the strapcode bracelet feels much better then stock.

It's a "nearly" watch. As in, if they just changed a couple things, it would be great, but as it is, it's got too much wrong with it.

Looks wise, it's decent. Apparently Rolex is giving the engine-turned bezel to Tudor, now that Rolex doesn't do them anymore.
I wish there was a non-Roman option. A simple stick dial with a little lume would be nice. The case is cool but reminds me a lot of the current Omega Constellation.
I like that the dial is really clean, though. No extraneous text.

The movement is a let-down. It's still a warmed-over Sellita. Until Tudor makes an in-house movement for it, I'm not interested. 38hr of power reserve just isn't enough these days.

The Speedie isn't bought despite the things you mentioned. It's bought because of them. The Speedie is literally a 1970s watch manufactured today. It's got an inaccurate 3Hz movement, the fit is poor even by cheaper watch standards, the bracelet is relatively uncomfortable and doesn't even allow half links.

That's the reason it's bought. You're sold a piece of vintage watch history made today to the same standards of back then.

This is also why the new Speedie with the co Axial movement is going cheaper than the previous ones... Omega has destroyed its charm by trying to modernize it.

The chronograph features weren't used in any meaningful fashion. NASA got it for them because they thought it might come handy but it never did. They weren't timing the burn with it and they certainly weren't measuring their speed with a tachymeter.

The real pilot and navigator watches in history had huge luminous markings to see it in the dark, sometimes a tachymeter but non of the subdual bullshit.

Non-watchfag here. Thinking of getting another watch but not sure. I currently use one of these, but I don't really like the segmented metal band, as it's band adjustments are really limited and it pinches. I don't really want to replace the band on this as it's design is integrated into the chassis of the watch. I'm not a huge fan of leather bands as they look too hipster-y for me. I like the mesh metal bands but I've never seen a nice looking watch with one. Anyone else had this problem? Any recommendations?
