Heads up bros, this shitter just got restocked so if you want to get this without having to pay scalpers, now would be the best time to go for it. The mechanical version is also available but why the fuck would you want a mechanical on a dial that doesn't display the most aesthetic aspect of automatics in the process?

Not a bad call either, Hanhart has the rep of being worn by actors in film without being paid to wear them, McQueen also does this with his 1713ES.

Good for you.

No Swatch is worth past $70. Hell, if you want the best Swatch inspired watches, Mr. Jones is the better avenue for that vs. their "80s" licensed cheap shit that they're selling for $150. The former might be selling for $245 but it's with sapphire glass and 316 L SS, while the Swatch ones are using cheap Seiko Mekaquartz movement with "Bioceramic" material for their cases and acrylic for crystal.

I don't know how Swatch gets away doing the same shit as Filippo Loretti, Valuchi, and all other scam brands out there.

They're right though. Indices and appliques are also zaratsu polished. Unless you've got a lightbox, trying to take pictures of GS pieces are a struggle to pull off.

Speaking of zaratsu polish, it's worse with Mirrorless/DSLR since you have to set up extenders if you can't afford an $800 macro lens. I genuinely don't know how one can even video zaratsu polish's visual effect in action. You can see it go from silver to black in a few frames but you can't really see the visual transition on video, just in person, and I'm starting to think it's not even possible to do so since not even Seiko, Casio or Citizen have been able to pull this off in their marketing materials.

I bought a Speedie ref 311 full set with everything. It's 6 years old but the owner barely wore it and had it mostly in a box. It's literally untouched, he didn't ever take the bracelet off, the straps are still sealed and the lugs are like a babys arse.

I'm afraid to even wear the bastard because of its condition. It's crisp enough that I could shave my beard with it. Terrifying to think that wearing it might put marks on it. I feel like I should store this in a box and keep it as museum piece for future generations.

Is it hard getting used to the square layout?
One thing that I'd be afraid of pissing me off is say when it's 4-5 o'clock and the by then very short hour hand means it takes a microsecond longer than normal to tell the time, figuring out where it's actually pointing. You know what I mean? Has that been an issue or am I over thinking it?

You're incredibly retarded. A watch is a fashion and/or technological item. Its value derives by what it provides to the wearer, in terms of looks, function and comfort. Being "great value" means that it provides good looks/function/comfort for a relatively small price. It had nothing to do with what people are willing to pay for the used watch. Value is subjective.
GS go for 5000$ and offer the features nobody else does.
How much would a Rolex with a snowflake dial and hi-beat movement cost? If it even existed probably 50000$ at retail.

The Japanese watches seem to generally cost 1/10th of their swiss equivalents.

i see there was a discussion about sizes in the last thread... i have 16.6 cm wrist (6.5 inch) and IMO watch will look good as long as it is not more than 13mm thick and lug2lug is less than 48mm. that being said, there is a considerable difference in comfort when wearing 42mm diameter, 48mm lug2lug compared to 36mm diameter 44.5 lug2lug (datejust 36)
they both look fine on the wrist, but if anything brings back smaller size watches it will be comfort rather than looks

>> No.17718683

I would assume one of two reasons:

1. Mechanical complication - not enough space to orient the gear train in such a way to have it rotated to the same degree, and they decided not to put in the extra effort to make it work.

2. The angle at which you view the watch when it's on your wrist isn't naturally 45 degrees like the main dial is offset, and they split the difference to give them both equally offset appearances and create more visual balance while reading it.

>> No.17718690

>>17718683
No, it’s just an oversight. The subsecond can be oriented anyway you want. It’s just a rotating pinion. It’s not like the hour and minute hands which need to move in concert

This is wrong. Repeating it won't make it true. The connection is just not there. Buy the best value refrigerator, computer keyboard, pair of headphones, ecc. and try to resell them. None holds their value. Just because some watches hold their value because of some social phenomenon tied to scarcity and prestige doesn't mean that's a benchmark all watches should be measured against. It makes no sense. Again, you are thinking about a financial instrument, not a watch

you really shouldnt cum on a watch unless it has at least 200m of wr. if you cum multiple times every day and it is your 3rd, 4th or later cum of the day maybe you can get away with 100m wr. at that point the size of the cum and the pressure at which it is shot out of the urinary meatus is greatly reduced hence the smaller wr level needed

>All they had to do is print the numbers differently.

But the dials have to be tied together at a specific ratio to get them to move at the correct speed, and to be able to set them together, and have the subseconds dial hit 1 at the minute marks, so if the main dial is driven by the main spring, the sub dial has to be driven by the main dial by some combination of gears that causes it to spin 43200 times during one revolution of of the hour hand, and only so many combinations of those gears of specific set sizes exist, and the center points of the dials are fixed, so you have to pick one of the sets of gears and stuff them in the movement in such a way that their outer radii touch the dial pinions.

Obviously if it's not intended to be timed together you can just spin the face, but if it's intended to be timed together, you can't.
