Because work pants only fit well if you have tree trunk legs to begin with lol. If you try to blouse or tuck them the excess fabric makes them look all poofy and awkward, and only serves to make your leg look that much skinnier at the shaft of the boot. If you just leave them over your boots then they just look like any other nondescript black boots and defeats the point of wearing them in the first place. something like 501s would be the absolute most loose I'd go with a pair of jeans/pants

Docs have the yellow stitching. If you are a guy and going for this look you probably should go with solovair, they are like a higher quality Docs with regular stitching. And for all the shit people give docs the solovairs I have, which are almost clones of docs, look perfectly fine, are virtually waterproof, and can be a stylish. OPs pictures mostly have people wearing tight ripped jeans and that’s the issue not the boots. The guy on the right looks ok imo I don’t really see much of an issue. I use solovairs as nothing but rain boots and they always fit the occasion. I never feel strange wearing them because it’s like normal to wear boots in the rain. It’s *context appropriate*. That being said there are far better rain boots you could own but the solovair boots I own no rain has penetrated and I’ve gone outside when it was really pouring down many times. They are surprisingly rain proof. I wouldn’t just step into a puddle though.
