Are Glycine watches actually Swiss-made?

On the one side they're a Swiss company there should be legal repercussions for putting Swiss Made on the dial when the watch doesn't meet actually the criteria. On the other they're owned by Invicta and follow the same fraud pricing scheme so have little trust in them.

Any ideas where Glycine produces their watches?

Lowdown: every single "Swiss" watch below rolex, that includes the vast majority of Swatch Group watches including omega (though probably not say, breguet) are almost entirely made and assembled in china due to all the loopholes the Swiss govt. allows otherwise the industry wouldn't exist. There's a couple people here like that. It's better to have one good watch than a garbage bag full of affordables. If you want to upgrade, that's fine. (I don't know if the current ExpII is necessarily an upgrade from the Exp1. The older 16570 is very nice, though.)

One of the guys here with a Reverso has that and a G-Shock and left it at that. It's fine to be interested in watches and to talk about them with other enthusiasts without feeling the need to constantly consoooom. People like that are never happy because they get addicted to the dopamine hit that comes from everyone congratulating them on their latest purchase.

Wow. You got lucky. Of the dozen or so analogue quartz watches I've ever owned only a 9F powered Grand Seiko and an Omega Seamaster ever hit the indices bang-on.

But, of course, the second hand really only exists to tell you at a glance that the watch is running. If you get too wrapped up in little details like that, you might want to schedule a consult with a neurologist or something.

Yeah cheep straps will peel and seperate, you can avoid this by getting unlined ones that are a single piece of leather, or by making sure they are made well and the lining is glued and stiched. If you can sort through the cheap Chinese junk there are some really nice straps on etsy. Just again amke sure stuff looks good and the shop has good reviews, the ones made in Indonesia and other south east asian countries can be plenty nice.
The easiest way to search and get past the junk is to use specific leather products in the search term, like wicket and craig, horween, buttero, epsom leather, box calf etc

All this shit is a gigantic lie, similar to art or similar stuff. And probably linked to money laundering or societal crimes or whatever.

"Swiss Made" is a 80% scam. Rolex might not be a "swiss made" scam but is a market manipulation rip off schene; they could be selling ten times more watches at the 2000€s or so they should cost. Mechanical shitters are worthless junk, obsolete since the 1960s and with no artistic value or craftmanship or value.

So. Im im the process (almost done, only the Visodate left) of selling all the shit and just keeping (aside from presents received and heirlooms, since i find selling them very bad manners) a JLC Master Control, a Timex Ironman 200m and buying pic rel or something even cheaper.

Claim the Superlative Chronometer is world class when it doesn't even hold a candle against the Spring Drive or Caliber 0100. They don't even bother improving on it since they know their own rep with normies will carry them anyway.

The only people who say this typically have an interest in selling fakes. It's an incredibly common scam.

Pictures you see on rep sellers' sites are usually pics of the real thing. They'll even have people post wristshots on social media and other high-res pics of gen watches and have them claim it's a rep.

Aside from some models of Panerai watches made in Panerai's Unitas movement era, no rep will fool a person who has experienced a gen once held in hand.

Oh this? It's my newest time-piece™. It's the new Tudor™ Pelagos™. 39 mm is a great size. Honestly, I wish it was 36 mm really. Small watches are coming back into style, you know? Watches actually started as jewelry for women and men had pocket watches. That changed in World War 1. Anyway, I love the refined look of this watch. Love the Snowflake™ hands. No date. No complications, just a solid tool-watch™. I'm so glad this has much less text on it now. Have you seen they finally changed the logo on Chistopher Ward™ watches? Good for them. Great value for money, almost as good as this watch. This watch is definitely a really good investment. Not like those disgusting Hubot's. Oversized, overcomplicated, and overpriced. Watches should be clean and simple. I might finally get a Grand Seiko™ now that they got rid of the power-reserve on the front. The Spring Drive™ is an electromechanical marvel. Anyway, I was saving for a Submariner™, which I think is even more elegant, but this really ticks all the boxes. You know Rolex™ actually owns Tudor™. My perfect watch collection would be a Submariner™, a Daytona™, and a Speedmaster™. You see those have history. James Bond, Paul Newman, Neil Armstrong, all guys I relate to. But I'm good with this Tudor™ for now. I hate how people buy flashy watches to show off their wealth. I try to keep things classy and under the radar. Plus I wouldn't want to make my boss look bad, he just wears an Apple watch. Ugh smart watches. Those watches don't have the soul mechanical watches have. This is the quartz crisis all over again. Oh you don't know about that? Let me tell you. In the 1970s...

If you're into badly painted black dials sure.
Protip: if you see a black dial watch that isn't a military watch or one of the coveted early diver watches from one of the usual suspects, you're seeing a regular ass white or silver dial watch that's been cheaply and lazily "refinished" by painting it black to hide all the flaws.
Black was not a popular dial color in the past.
It is extremely rare to find them, in any condition.
Note how it not only looks too clean, but the paint has pooled around the base of the applied numerals and the omega symbol. Gross.

Depends on the watch.
I end up gravitating to black dials with white indicies/hands because it offers optimum and instant legibility. This effect was recognized early last century hence why military watches adopted this scheme after WW1. I've tried to warm to lighter dials but that instant legibility brings me back.
The effect:
>black lines on a white background seem smaller because black draws into itself and shrinks
>white lines on black explode outward and seem bigger; hence better legibility

Tag saddens me because I feel like their watches are 90% style,10% QC. I had a guest(I work for a hotel) notice my Zelos Mako and he showed me the Carrera he got from UAE, supposedly new. Since I was the first dude he encountered wearing a mechanical, he asked me in a hushed voice about how to wind his watch since for some reason, it only seems to last 8 hours before it stops which sucks since that's the state of his Carrera whenever he wakes up. I told him it's an automatic so it should be self-winding, and that modern automatics at LEAST have 41 hours of power reserve minimum, not 8.

I didn't have the heart to tell the guy that Tag watches may be considered luxury but they're also infamous for constantly breaking since he was he sounded very proud of owning it. It's one seeing that online, it's another seeing it iRL.
