I ordered Acrasia for my mom's birthday gift from ecuacionnatural and when you finalize your order, aside from a box for comments, there's a box for "samples you want to try". There's a different number depending on how much money you spent. For 100-200 bucks it said 12 samples so I put a bunch in there. It doesn't necessarily say you get them though. Maybe you get 1-2, if any at all, considering the each sample on the website can cost from 10 to like 30 bucks. If anyone ordered from them before maybe they can confirm. I put these in the comments but to be honest I doubt I'm getting them. The combined cost of them is as much as the full Acrasia bottle itself.

Petit fracas at home, fracas arriving tomorrow

Sweet bright realistic tuberose and pear opening , dries into cocoa + nard and keeps evolving beautifully to the basenotes. Really feminine, but if you look really masculine you could pull it off. EDP Vs EDT doesn't really matter that much nowadays, in the age of synthetics. You have some edps that perform like garbage (for example The One EDP) and some EDTs that have great performance (for example Kenzo Intense)

>> No.17668062

>>17668055
Fragrance concentration doesn't matter for longevity. Only the volatility and detection threshold do. If you have something that isn't very volatile with a really low detection threshold, it will evaporate very slowly and be easily detectable. Other than that, EdT, EdP and any other similar designations are not legally binding in any way. Some manufacturers will claim EdP at concentrations lower than you would expect, often masking it with the addition of water. They'll write 80% ethanol by volume on the bottle, making you think it's 20% oils, but they have also added 5-7% water, which you will only find in the ingredient list and without any concentration.

for me it's dior homme parfum and it was more or less a match, though I didn't immediately love the far drydown. when I went through my 5ml decant super quickly because I wanted to smell it all the time, I knew I had to get a bottle though
I still have yet to find anything else that seems perfect for my tastes. maybe Shalimar, but I'll just buy it for my gf at some point because it smells more on the feminine side to me

The raw materials and scent formulas for the overwhelming majority of smelly stuff in the world, irrespective of branding, come from a tiny handful of giant conglomerates who leverage their access to materials to compete for contracts to make a given thing. Everyone is stealing everyone else’s stuff (sticking your competitors’ formulas into a gas chromatograph, documenting the chemical composition exactly, and pulling that out for an unrelated bid is totally normal) high-concept bids are often slightly reworked knockoffs. If you're "I don't dig commercial perfumery because everything smells pretty much the same" that's not a problem with your nose, it's factually correct.

Why not? That's a totally different situation. You are really saying can I take my frag in my luggage when I go on vacation, and of course you can. And many people bring back tons of bottles of perfume.

But, if you make $200 from a $30 fragrance, how is that worth it anyway? You'd be better off working a few hours minimum wage.

But if you're asking can I bring in 50 bottles, that is when it is going to be no, and it will be obvious what you're doing - along with avoiding sales taxes.

Import/expert is personal usage. Not to mention if you;re doing that to 3rd world places, you could end up in serious shit.

Hence people only do this when the juice is worth the squeeze, when the risk is worth hundreds of thousands, if not millions.

By Killian - Dark Lord
Lalique - Encre Noire
YSL - La Nuit de l'Homme

There's a bunch of "goth" fragrances that are either ENM Wiccans in Oregon or Canada making oils with edgy names that smell like a hospital waiting room, or rich homos in LA making ultra-niche fragrances based off a single scene in Silence of The Lambs. Most goths as you may know smell like cheap incense, rescue pitbaby, djarum blacks (or camel crush lights) and whatever the cheapest beer was that night. So, wearing any of these puts you lightyears ahead of other men there.

I don't know the women's fragrances. I had an ex from Germany who looked like Morticia in the 90's Addams Family movie. She wore what I later found out was oud and I had never smelled at the time. Unfortunately, I never found out which oud fragrance she wore. It haunts me to this day.

Hello /Frag/! Noselet / newbie here, but trying to better myself so pardon the blogpost, hope you'll all be willing to lend advice and expertise.

Some quick background, I'm a guy, never actively worn any cologne/fragrances before, just deodorant, so completely inexperienced and ignorant. I've tried to educate myself on some of the basics by reading bits of the OP material and charts, but there's a lot there, so didn't hit it all.

My primary goal here is to find a scent that fits the FAQ "Office/School Frag" description "mass appealing (not monster projection) scent for professional settings." Something *I* will enjoy, but also if someone is relatively close to me they will pick up on and be mentally cognizant I smell "good". Low/medium silage, broad appeal. The Apothic Red of fragrances so to speak. Not opposed to differentiating into warm and cold weather frag's, but need a primary first.

As I said I've read through the beginner pics, and so I've picked out a few fragrances that I -think- I would enjoy, and do plan on going to a store (Prob a Macy's) to actually smell some of my top choices, but at the moment what I think I will like is based purely on reading text descriptions. That said I'm looking for suggestions on some cheap, low mL, broad discovery sets to really get a feel for what I actually enjoy. The $35 etat libre dorange set on Luckyscent is the first thing on my list at the moment. Saw this anons >>17668925 post as well, but if the descriptions are accurate not sure they'd be my jam...

Will post top picks in follow up post!

>> No.17669918

>>17669916
Top picks! (Again, emphasizing this is purely from text descriptions)
> 1 Spicebomb (Extreme?) (By a pretty far margin)
> 2 Bois 1920 Sushi Imperiale
> 3 Prissana ma Nishtana
> 4 Serge Lutens Five O'clock au Gingembre
> 5 Kilian Black Phantom
> 6 Geo F Trumpers Paisley
> 7 Escentric Molecules Escentric 03
> 8 Guerlain Homme EDP (Mostly as another warm weather option)
> 9 Rochas eau de Rochas Homme (Also mostly as another warm option)

I also feel obligated to smell, but am "Meh" on the description for Aventus and Encre Noire. Also curious about TF Ombre Leather and Tobacco Vanille but no "Meh"

One minor question/concern, above I mentioned "never -actively- worn any cologne" in the past. I was gifted one random bottle of likely some dollar store BS by an aunt. On the rare occasions I attempted to use it, it always kind of bothered my breathing ever so slightly. Do you think that's just a side effect of it being cheap crap, or is it likely that most forms of fragrance are going to bother me?

Oh also, when I go brick and mortar to try some out in person, best way to test *multiple* fragrances? Obvi can't spray them all on me, just whiff the bottle itself, or is there a better way?

Thanks everyone, appreciate any thoughts, suggestions, comments, not-out-right-insults I can get.

TL;DR - Give a know-nothing discovery set suggestions with emphasis on low volume, high breadth, preferably cheap. Or spicy/oriental suggestions for a generic, everyday frag.

>Oh also, when I go brick and mortar to try some out in person, best way to test *multiple* fragrances?
I like to apply them on different places on my arms. so let's say one close to the hand and one close to the elbow on each arm
you can also take tester strips, but trying on skin is more accurate

if you're looking for an unintrusive year-around office scent, something like Spicebomb or Black Phantom doesn't really fit the bill, too heavy and cloying

I'd recommend something like H24 or Dior Homme 2020. or that Guerlain Homme you picked but definitely smell all this stuff extensively before buying
