>and then there's shit like carhartt work pants which look the same as chinos to my eye
carhartts are heavy duty canvas, and often have work specific features like box pockets or double front knees.

chinos are lightweight cotton twill.

hope that helps!

so they look the same but the fabric is just different?

>> No.17651027

>>17651016
because the fabric is different, they don't look the same at all. add on top of that work pant specific features like double knees and reinforcing rivets and so on and so forth.

it's like comparing printer paper to double ply cardboard.

getting more into it, basically what you're confused about is different types of work pant that all blend into eachother.

>carpenter
this is a kind of work pant that has a loop on the leg for hanging a hammer, and some deep narrow pockets for hand tools or rulers or whatever.
>cargo
this is a feature that can be on any kind of pant, it's just extra pockets on the thigh with a flap that closes over them.
I've seen them on everything from jeans to joggers, although it would be out of place on chinos or dress pants.
>carhartt
this is just a brand. they generally make work pants in thick cotton duck or canvas, but also work in denim and flame resistant fabrics.

>picrel to me looks like chinos, it also looks like cargos and it also looks like work trousers
it does not look like chinos, the fabric is too heavy and there are rivets in it.
it does not look like cargos, there are no cargo pockets.

as we've discovered, they are jeans, which are historically a kind of work pant.

chinos, on the other hand, are a lighter weight pant made from chino cloth, a kind of cotton twill.
originating in military uniform, they are today considered "business casual" and can be dressed up or dressed down.
you will also see them called khakis, after the khaki color they were dyed in for the military.

i think where you're getting confused is there are a similar pant called "five pocket pants" which are basically jeans made in fabrics other than denim, and often in chino cloth.

Since OP is completely lost we should also specify that "twill" = diagonal weave

I feel kind of bad about this, but the dms from ten boys comment wasn't about tranny fucker, I was going after baldfag since he grooms kids. I don't have anything against the guy in OP, and I'm confused as to how my comment got applied to him because the conversation it was part of was directed at baldfag, he wasn't even a part of it. Who ever made this pic coopted my comment in bad faith and that's fucking gay.

ok i've done some research so to speak
chinos, denim, curduroy, canvas, wool etc are materials
joggers, carpenter/cargo/work in general, tailored, high/low rise are styles if you could call it that
and then there's fits
honestly it's pretty fucking insane that the general categorization is pretty much sweatpants, jeans, not jeans and smart trousers

"tailored" isn't a style, it just means you've taken it into a tailor to have it altered.

>honestly it's pretty fucking insane that the general categorization is pretty much sweatpants, jeans, not jeans and smart trousers
I mean, there's more to it if you like. dungarees, trews, fishtail trousers, rugby pants, monkey pants, thai fisherman pants, sailor's slops, jodhpurs, bondage pants, gurkha trousers, tincloth, harem pants, hakama, the list could go on...

anything that fits properly to your body without being tight or baggy will look good and profesh, tight is for shielas, baggy is for cunts that want to steal or conceal
