“Menswear” guys are really starting to piss me off and I don’t even quite know why. It’s fine to put in some effort but LARPing as Don Draper or an Italian aristocrat is lame as fuck.

Post a fit tho. Why are you so mad at classic masculine clothes made of natural materials?

>> No.17644525

Like any community, there will always be those that are insufferable about it. Im not a menswear person but at least the majority of recognisable menswear posters here know their shit and are generally engaging and happy to help. God some of the fits are atrociously homo

Dressing up is pretty simple (for males), not entirely cheap, but the market of insecure men can't be more in demand than nowadays

I like Gentleman's Gazette, but there are some influencers out there that are dangerously misleading menswear to the "alpha male" trend.

I can respect a menswear guy that gives a fuck in context of the current world. I haven’t followed Die Workwear much, but from what I’ve seen it slaps back and forth between “here’s all these important facts about suiting and this all has meaning and you should care” and “lmao the suit is dead so w/e :) “

It reeks of protective internet disassociation, “I was only pretending to be retarded” shitposting.

It’s like menswear guys collectively stopped paying attention in the 60s, or consider any developments in fashion in the last half century to not count towards any tradition. It’s become as much a larp as a renaissance fair costume, isolated in time to a specific period of dress.

I hate this guy and how much they dick ride him over there. He's pretentious as fuck and if you call him out his army of simps will attack you and go through your post history and it's basically no different than when you have a wrong option on reddit

you can say that about anything. name ONE(1) original idea from the past 50 years in the world of fashion, design, art, architecture, etc.
>hardmode no postmodernist expression that only exist to subvert a tradition
postmodernism has ruined everything and ironically big city faggots like Derek can't see this

he's recommending going to your job in what would be the equivalent of an Audrey Hepburn costume but for men. it's ridiculous to dress like that when all your coworkers dress casual.

Fashion history is full of subverting preexisting trends, this isn’t unique to our age. If you showed yourself dressed in a dapper tweed suit to a medieval noble he’d think you’re some degenerate.

menswear is extremely interesting because every aspect is well thought out, but the average instagrammer/streamer just doesn't know shit

Read that guy's tweets

Honestly that are some things right, but I can see how much of an asshole he is (going through people's pictures and pointing errors) and also the dressy thing.

By the way, Gentleman's Gazette advise using only if you like, and try not too hard if the environment is a little bit strict

mens wear is also one of those things that was 'disrupted' by tech as a sector. tech bros would rather staple their testicles to their legs than tuck in their shirts. whenever you see an untucked polo shirt over dark denim and a chunky watch on a skinny wrist, you have the CS majors you went to school with to thank for it

on the flip side, when i started working my dad bought me two suits and 5 shirts. i wore them to interviews and for the first few days at work, then never again. the suit has been dead in my experience since the early 00s. i am more likely to wear a suit to a wedding/funeral than to work

Nothing against menswear, but the full suits larper are the most cringy ever. Justifying it with reviewbrahs style, makes it even more cringe. Reviewbrah is like a cartoon figure, it works on his channel, but wouldn't in reallife.
Also most people wearing full suits are untrustworthy, scumbags, traitors.
Sporty, casual suits are the way to go.

you can always tell how based someone is by how deranged and obsessive their haters are
based is by all accounts a dysgenic, badly dressed weirdo, but his bullheaded persistence in the face of having some of the most psychotic haters any poster on this board has had in years is... well it sure is something.

This guy is a chick who tries to emulate WASPy culture, which he will never be a part of, while also simultaneously seething at the people who make up said culture. He will never be white no matter how much he spends on his clothes.
