What watches do really look like they are luxurious and expensive? Find that most watches, even rolexes, patek look cheap and banal if the name of the dial was erased.
What watches do you think fit the bill, the price is irrelevant. Also it's a serious question I dont mean to troll or provoke anyone I just find luxury watches lacking in well, luxury, other than price and exclusivity.

If you are looking for a 38 automatic dive style watch, it's either the seiko or an islander isl-05. Islander has better specs (200m wr, screw down crown, sapphire crystal), but it still isn't ISO certified so it's not a "true" dive watch. Seiko looks a lot nicer, and has much better color options. No screw down crown so it's much more convenient for daily wear and doesn't make you feel like a James Bond LARPer. Both can be modded if necessary.
The best everyday colors for a watch tend to be white or black, if you're looking for something brighter go with the white dial black bezel one. The black and white dial also come with silver colored hands, instead of the gold on the orange and turquoise dials.

Of course it's great, but I don't see any reason to not get a solar powered 5610 series. The peace of mind alone is worth the few extra dollars, ans the look ils actually closer to the original 1983 G-shock if you dig it. Sure the 5600 has a few more features (like clock still displaying while using the chrono) that may or may not be useful to you, and some people can't profit from the multiband function depending on where they live, but if those points don't matter to you, go for the 5610. The shittiest thing about buying/collecting microbrands is that no matter what the watches look like, no matter how hard you try to diversify your tastes and pick watches that are as different as possible, you know you're buying 10-30 watches that all share movements and are functionally identical.

I'm including eta and sellita in that. There are only like 6 movements microbrands use and you know almost immediately which one the watch is using based on price point and complications. Even if the watch looks cool it feels bad to basically buy a bunch of copies of the same watch. I'm not even worried about in house vs 3rd party, I just feel weird about buying 12 of the same exact tool in 12 different colors. Caught a mfer maintaining eye contact with me last Sunday. As I awaited my turn to approach him, I formulated a plan. This dude was gonna get ALL of my mean mug and then a hard slap across his face to correct his wayward gaze. As I approach the guy, he withers, turns into a complete beta male and starts trying to be friendly, even throwing compliments in my direction, "The body of Christ" he said to me, I kept looking him straight in the eye, my glare growing ever more intimidating, and responded "...and I don't even work out". At this point his jaw just dropped in fear and I felt pity for this pathetic creature before me so I decided to throw the dog a bone, "Feed me." I demanded, to which he gulped and in total servility reached out to me, his hand quivering and put what I can only describe as edible cardboard onto my outstretched tongue. I stood there and chewed it in front of him, making sure that my facial expression delivered a message of inadequacy and contempt. This dude couldn't even look me in the eye at this point and I realized that victory had been achieved, this guy wasn't going to be looking anyone in the eye for a loooong time. So in my magnanimous mercy, I patted his face like a well trained dog and then turned to leave. "Mogged" I said to no one in particular as I exited the building. Ciao.

Last week I posted a picture of a Citizen BN0200 and I pulled the trigger. It’ll be here Tuesday. The specs:
>Lighter than steel and scratch proof titanium
>Eco drive solar battery
>200M water resistance
Gonna pop this baby on the wrist and forget about it. Gonna set aside a few bucks every month to save for a lightly used Cartier or OP.

In the current collection:
>Khaki Field — my first watch. Been to several continents with me. It’s too fragile to use on adventures, so I’m retiring it. My grandfather wore one in WW2
>Accutron Art Deco — pic related, the watch he wore when he died, and that he gave to me. A simple quartz Accutron. But I love the 1930s Art Deco style. Bracelet is fucked. Plan to wear this on my wedding.

And that’s it. I hope to finish with a 3 watch collection. The Citizen for GADA; the Cartier/OP for desk diving; and the Accutron for those special days
