Are automatic watches really worth it?

Don't get me wrong, I love the beauty of them, I appreciate the craftsmanship and delicate intricacies that make them work.

But... I'm kind of disappointed in them?
I thought they were great until I got one and now I find myself wearing my Casio Gshock more than my automatic.
I don't wear my watches much during the week as I work in dirty environment with grease and oils, but after a long day at work I am finding it to be a real bother to put the watch on just to wind it up, as I don't think this has a manual wind up.

The key is to get a beater automatic and wear it all the time even in the dirt so it keeps a wind and becomes like a companion to you.
