I was looking at it too, I have a Speedy too. It is the only Pam with good specs and line the brand has not gutted. I with I’m going to go with a standard Pam, the 683 is a lovely watch but for the money I would go with an Explorer or something. I’m going to pick up a Pam111 (older ref) and get the specs I want (300m, sandwich dial, display back, finished movement)

I also tried on the new 124270 and it didnt do anything for me. I like to interact with my watches in at least one way, be it with the chronograph pushers or a rotating bezel. Either way, im on the hunt for a dive watch next which is why I was looking at the PAM683. Also tried on a pelagos 39 and thought it was very attractive for the price.

If none of those, ill get a NOS 14060m 4-liner or as close to NOS as possible. For me, thats the perfect dive watch ever made.

Yup, also the way the aluminium bezel absorbs light and becomes blacker than black is so special. The ceramic bezels on the 114060 and 124060 are so antithetical to what the submariner is. Not to mention the way the nurling on the bezel teeth are so prominent and proud on the 14060m even compared to the 16610LN. Its fantastic in every regard.

Rolex Oyster cases are semi-cushion shaped so the effect is that they visually look larger than their diameter suggests. (The same is true for square watches. The size Large Cartier Santos looks enormous despite "only" being 39mm)

Feel free to try on the 36mm and 40mm Rolexes and see if you like those sizes better, but the 34mm looks fine on your wrist and no one would ever say it looks too small.

1. get into watches

No more anachronistic mechanical garbage thats more expensive while being more fragile and expensive to mantain.

And also a green dial version in both Large and Medium.

I would probably still prefer the white dial though.
The only thing I might consider is getting the Gold & Steel version. I normally don't particularly like two-tone bracelets but the screws being a different color seems like it could be interesting, but I don't know if in practice it would become too distracting or look trashy.

Why is that unlikely? This group of friends didn't really wear watches until recently. It's different than work where people have swiss brands or care about the movements. Meanwhile my automatic matte watch with a custom strap barely registered.

Has any of the epstein islanders been put in prison? Besides epistein himself that is.
Andrew was one of them. There's also been rumors circulating about the guy for years.
That's the thing, the actual heir to the throne has too many eyes on them and charles always had the hots for his used-goods hag waifu anyway, even when he was presented with fresh english rose.
The second son is almost always a fuckup. Basically always going back to the beginning of kings. You're the spare, until your older bro has a son, and then you can do what you want and that's what andrew did and nobody thought to control him.
Disgusting.
Look at harry - fucked up his entire life and now subsists on the periphery, a failure, but he had that freedom.

If the movement is finished to a high degree, then the labour cost alone contributes to some of the price. Exclusivity, branding, design, and relative scarcity probably make up the rest.

>>17620569
Both look great on you; Panerais tend to look better in 'standing in a mirror' shots rather than shots close on wrist. I enjoy Panerais, though the older ones were better. The problem is that it can be very difficult to determine authenticity with older ones. If you love this one, buy it.

>>17620610
If you desire a Rolex, then definitely save up. OPs are not going to be unobtainium for much longer, and in some areas the 'waiting list' is a week to a month. Tissot is generally good, but Longines would be better in that price range. Hell, even consider Frederique Constant.

>>17620638
Of course. If you love it and have the funds, why not?

>>17620666
The old 111 is excellent; just make sure it's authentic.

>>17620671
They are basic and rough, but in that era of 90s to 2000s, they were a different kind of 'luxury'. By today's standards, they're simple, but back then, the design was iconic. There are very few watch brands which can be easily and accurately identified from across the room. Panerai is one of them, Rolex (and Rolex fakes) is the other. That visual recognition is worth something from a design point of view.

Hello.

>>17620890
They're a legit brand, with best-in-price-category finishing of exteriors, dial, and hands. I think the spring drive is fun to look at, and their general quality level is great aside from the bracelets. I don't know how easy it is to have them serviced outside of Japan though. Also, their design language doesn't speak to me at all, so I find their watches ugly. Such is life.

First of all, /wt/ is a shit place for watch recommendations, so next time, I would ask somewhere else. In general, it is a good idea to tryout the watch in person before making the purchase.

The two cheap quartz watches I that immediately come to mind are the Citizen BM8180 and the Seiko SUR461. Both can be found for under $150. The Citizen BM8180 is smaller at 37mm, but it has a mineral crystal. The Seiko SUR461 has a superior sapphire crystal, but it is bigger at 40mm. Both are cheap enough where if you get mugged or lose the watch, it wouldn't be the end of the world. Both of the stock straps are terrible, so I recommend buying a separate strap ($50) along with the watches. However, if you are dead set on a mechanical, you can probably find a Seiko 5/Presage or Hamilton Khaki on discount for under $400. Beware of Seiko's horrible QC. It is better to inspect the watch in person and not deal with the hassle of returning it.
