what shoes do I get if I drive a lot? I get an unhealthy amount of creases in my left boot while getting barely any in my right one.
Wild leather chelseas were my go to this winter and the left one kinda looks like ass now while being unproportionally more worn out than the right one.

Anyone here own Guidi boots that can help me out with sizing?

Im going to purchase a pair of 986s from ssense sometime soon, was wondering how true to size they fit? ssense says "true to size" but Ive heard other things. One friend told me they stretch to your feet quite a bit so TTS is the way to go, however online many people say size up one. Howd you guys navigate this ?

also. 988 or 986?

The toe silhouette on this looks autistic. I'm trying to figure out why it looks bad and I think its because the vamp just shoots straight down diagonally toward the toe with zero curvature, while the shaft looks relatively fucking huge. If you're going to spend serious money on a pair of sleek-looking horsehide engineers, it would be better to just wait until Clinch starts accepting preorders like they usually do once per year. Nobody has perfected a better looking engineer silhouette than either Clinch or Role Club. If the wait time for those are too long for you, Benzeine makes a really great engineer that looks almost exactly like the Clinch engineers with an approximate 5 month wait and half the price

I disagree. It all depends on the silhouette of the toe and the quality of the horsehide. Some of the rolling and collapsing effect on some unstructured engineers looks incredible. I'm not even opposed to structured toes, the John Lofgrens imo are a top notch design

Agreed. I love leather footwear and selvedge jeans, but imo you should just borrow a few items from that entire world of retailers to incorporate into your fits. If you are decked out in all denim/leather/military-repro, it looks so fucking silly. However, a pair of japanese made boots and jeans paired with a preppy sweater, hoodie, or business casual dress shirt can look really nice without being too try hard. Some people get kind of turned off by the flannel-jeans-boots combo, but I'd argue that since that particular fit has been a fundamental outfit of american culture for pretty much an century, it generally looks pretty good on most people and anyone in real life is not going to give a fuck if you wear that. This is especially true for people living in the Pacific Northwest since leather boots and flannels have been manufactured and worn there since forever.

I live outside of Portland and to answer your question, its both. You have normal people in the suburbs and rural areas that where it just because its a standard american outfit. People in the city wear higher quality boots, flannels and jeans for fashion. To me, this is why that outfit is so good. You can wear it just cuz you're a regular person, but you can also make it look slightly better than normal if you buy higher quality items. As long as you get a decent color scheme that matches well, you can never fail

Since you're actually wearing the boots for real work rather than larping and posting pics for leddit then you'll be looking at redwings' actual workboot line rather than their heritage line; no one here wears their work line and the only redwings discussed are the heritage line. This is a /fa/gshion board for discussing what fancy shit you can prance about it while nobody around you gives a shit since they can't tell the difference between a disposable workboot and "muh heritage 1000x resolable iron ranger" anyway.

My only suggestion is to go to the store and be very clear on your use case and let the attendant recommend shit for you.
>running, lifting, shit might fall on your toes, on feet all day
Is not the use case of the heritage line. You're better served with the less costly workboot line.
Don't buy meme boots.
Also, if you can, ffs buy 2 pairs and rotate to allow them to dry out between wears.
Your feet will be healthier that way and the boots will last way longer.

607s. They are extremely comfortable, waterproof to the top of the shaft, made in USA, soft toe, lightweight, and only come in black.

I have a pair of 608s, the taller, redder version, that have lasted me 13 years of road and field work with a factory resole. Note about that - it’s a molded urethane sole, so you have to ship it back to Red Wing for rebuilds.

It isn’t going to win any beauty contests, but it is a supremely capable workboot. If you’re absolutely set on RW, that should be your choice. Though, it would behoove you to look into other military boots since you’re in security. Many companies have decent return policies so you can try on at home.

Wesco is not bad, but it's not incredible. What I will give them is that their boots are fucking tanks. However, if you're looking for immaculate, high density stitching, selection of top notch leather, and comfort, you would be best going with a japanese brand. Within the realm of PNW brands, White's destroys Wesco imo. This was discussed last thread, but someone was talking about how Wesco uses thermoplastic heel counters instead of thick pieces of veg tan, resulting in discomfort in the heel. It may not seem like a big deal, but this would be an absolute deal breaker. If you're paying $800 dollars for a pair of boots, at the very minimum you would expect them to not cut such a stupid corner like that. Please help. My husband loves hiking through horrible terrain and has broken every single pair of boots I've gotten him. "It's only a simple hike" but he's destroyed KEEN, Red Wing, Wolverine, even Docs, as well as like 5 pairs of no-name brand boots over the last 2 years. What boots would hold up to daily Vietnam-War-Level wear and tear, but also have hooks at the top? They have to have hooks at the top.

In my honest opinion, most of the people here are into boots as a fashion and practically have a heart attack when something gets on their $600 booties. Your husband sounds like an actual outdoorsman who is going to destroy almost any pair of boots he puts his feet on. With that in mind, I'm going to make a reference that you visit >>>/out/ and make a boot thread there with the same question for the actual outdoorsmen instead of the mall lumberjacks you are likely to encounter here.

If you still want opinions from this thread, it is my suggestion that you examine what fails on his boots first and shop for a boot that allows you to fix that. If he's destroying boots in exactly the way in that picture with the bottom sole falling off: you can buy boots with a 'goodyear welt' or a 'stitchdown' which can be resoled for about $80. Which physically stitch the sole back onto the boot. The boot in your pictures are cemented with glue, which means theyre just glued on and will fail eventually with enough walking.

If not, if they're utterly destroyed on the physical upper body of the shoe, your only real option is to keep buying cement construction boots as they are fairly cheap and are made to be easily replaced.

If you want my suggestion on which specific boot you should get which have the hooks at the top: I suggest a White's boot or a Red Wing Heritage boot
They are extremely expensive and I'll get accusations of being a mall lumberjack for suggesting them, but they have almost-uncomfortable amounts of arch support, speedhooks, and a sole you can send the boots off to replace as many times as you want and it won't destroy the boot.

This is White's latest model, the Perry. It's pretty good, but it costs $390

I stopped regularly cleaning and conditioning them after I got a tear in a hard to repair spot and they let water in so I just ran out the clock. Most of the wear is from the last year desu.

Thanks they're the best boots I've owned over the last 20y. Way nicer than that garbage Zamberlain passes off as Gucci.
Usually burn through a pair of boots in 2 winters.
