twink fem 20y /mu/anon here ,fairly new to fragrances here anons and needing new frags but I don’t know how to navigate scents and brands all too well, Toy boy 2 is my favourite, I love the youthful energy it gives off and that fun smell of bubblegum that matches my personality. Tried fragnatica but the ones simmilar seem too fem or fruity. Any others with simmilar unique energies, maybe some crowd pleasers with reach and longevity? Looking for something Andrgnous but slightly femmine, maybe unique and complimentary too? I should mention I am trying for arthoes and those bisexual lesbians ideally the latter, pic related ;)any recs appreciated ty
For references the perfumes I have tried are :
Le Labo Santal 33 (smelled too dad like)
Le Labo Matcha (I loved this but no reach)
Le Labo Fluer De Orange (Smelt like toilet cleaner with orange)
Le Labo Jasmin (I loved this but too simple and felt lacking in reach and stay)
Comme De Garçon 2
Herme De Terres
Marc Jacob Daisy
Mugler Alien (When i’m feeling grunge)
Le Labo Rose and Bergmotte are my favourites of Le Labo
and Toyboy 2 for how unique it is, but not as androgynous as I’d like.

Sounds much better in terms of what BI is, because otherwise a rustic/rural fella would only dream about what resins are unless he sold them or smelled them in the church processions.
>>17575497
>What are you thinking?
That was my imagination, i could discuss something to make that work but it was just my idea of Imperial. In my search for a very woody aromatic frag i rarely stumbled upon stuff that looked like it, they are either spice bombs or wood cabins, not a balanced combination. Then again nowadays few dare to do that, a somewhat dead sub-genre as i have not smelled something like Santos de Cartier again barring that i need to check Quorum.

>Executives aren't dumb
Execs are half nepo dudes, half bean counters. They do not know what is going on and in the best of cases try to hide and talk nothing with the workforce.
>you can do whatever the fuck you want
>valuable high quality employee
If you knew how bad shit is you would know the best workers are the ones they put the most pressure and queue. Few people know how to be a boss and leader, that's why the best workers end up as contract mercenaries/outsources for hire and the office grunts try to hide how much they can do to carry on relatively peacefully.
When the boss knows how to value the good workers and reward them for doing good is the moment that place makes an exponential jump above the competition.

Got a 1ml sample of Dior Homme Sport 2021 a while back, and was surprised that it barely skimmed over any citrus and quickly went to incense and amber on my skin. It lasted forever on my clothes, though, and my gf went crazy for it, so when I saw a good deal for a 99% full bottle I snapped it up.
Been wearing it for the last few days now, and I gotta say… the lemony opening is a lot stronger, and the presence of the aldehydes is much, MUCH stronger than the sample would have indicated. I don’t have any experience with the aldehyde note and it’s weird how dominant that part is during the day compared to what the sample was like. Will this die down a little with time?

Bohemian Lime - very pleasant and well blended, tropical citruses with vetiver. It's rare to see citrus frags that are so well done and have any lasting power.
Desert Rosewood - Rosewood and patchouli done like a gourmand, can be a bit weird but it's really intresting, not many frags are so rosewood heavy.
Purple Suede - Leather, saude, lavender and a bit of animalics done well.
Pacific rockmoss - underwhelming, so many better marine fragrances out there, and thats without getting into how little does it last and how shit is the projection

Some are discontinued, but that's basically always the case. As soon as you introduce new fragrances, those will get discontinued, too. The flowchart isn't supposed to be a "must-follow", you can basically test everything higher up in the chain or start with whatever you can find locally first. It's just supposed to be an introduction into common frag themes, as they are also listed in the other chart.

I was getting a bit confused and thinking of Marine fragrances, but Acqua Di Sale feels like the best "beach" scent there's ever been. I love the slightly dirty, earthier side to CW, AdS is like turning that damp seaweedy aspect into a perfume in it's own right.

Interesting about the longevity, but perfumes last ages on me. My girlfriend is really jealous because they last minutes on her.

Maison Francis Kurkjian Men's Discovery Set Rating. Each worn for a full day.

>Aqua Universalis - C
Lemon Pledge. Pretty dull, nice on a warm day but nothing super interesting. Lasts for about 5 hours then gone
>Amyris Homme - A
Beautiful.Warm citrus, with a hint of cream. Signature scent worthy, Full bottle worthy at a discount, as doesn't last too long, 5/6 hours.
>L'Homme a La rose - B
Sharp bright, green rose stem. Wouldn't be able to tell if it was rose without it in the name, but fine all the same 5 hours
>724 - C
Screechy, febreeze linen 4 hours
>Gentle Fluidity Silver - B+
Gin and Tonic that cuts through the hot air. I enjoy a G&T from time to time and this was pleasant enough. 6 hours.
>Gentle Fluidity Gold - B+
Pretty. Dry down reminds me of Tom Ford's Rose Prick for some reason. 6 Hours
>BR540 - D
The rorschach test of frags. Some people smell cotton candy, others smell sweet vanilla. Others smell a dentist office, medical ointment and bandages. I fall into the latter category. Gave me a headache after 4 hours, and had to wash my clothes twice to get the smell out.
>Grand Soir - A
Very nice, a great evening, date night frag. 5 hour longevity

Overall its a fine house. I don't fully get the hype and the prices for what it offers is a bit too much, but some very good gems.

nay. it's a really leather-heavy fragrance that's not for everyone. I actually found it kind of nasty even though I usually like leather perfumes
also, check out Guerlain Cuir Intense. I think it's underrated in this "modern leather" genre that Tuscan Leather has spawned
I still think Dior Homme Parfum mogs all of these, but it's a bit different, more complex and less in your face with the leather

Anons of /frag/, I need some perspective. I am 28 and have not been able to smell since I was 10 years old, and never really considered how I smell beyond using deodorant. I work an office job that requires dress shirts and slacks. It was recommended to me to stop using the old spice sport deodorant that I have been using since 14, and look into more adult fragrances. I understand this in concept, but I am confused about what I should be looking into.
How do I know when a smell is good or fitting to me? Should I switch my antiperspirant as well (Same pure sport fragrance). Any advice on where to begin other than the general materials that I am in the process of reading now?

I think you can just pick something popular and "office safe" at random. stuff like:
>terre d'hermes
orange, pepper, wood, somewhat earthy. conjures the image of someone classy, masculine, confident and mature but not super old (it's essentially a modernized take on an old school genre)
>dior homme (2020)
similar to TdH, but "younger" smelling. less peppery, less confident, a bit blander but no one will ever dislike this
>bleu de chanel
the "default fragrance" that's almost universally pleasant. a little sporty, a little upscale, probably more casual and younger smelling than something like TdH. smells vaguely like citrus, wood, incense and sweet resins, but in an abstract, synthetic yet pleasant way
>allure homme edition blanche
creamy lemon goes brrrrr. softer and more comforting than the others. can't imagine anyone hating this one too

or you can not wear any fragrance at all if you prefer, no one's going to force you. it's not vital, more like a minor fashion accessory

I think if I couldn't smell I wouldn't bother wearing perfume. 95% of the pleasure it gives me is catching a sniff of it throughout the day, and the rest is compliments/the ritual of putting it on.

If I were in your shoes I would instead look into a high end deodorant. Something like nuud or AKT. I think you'd be far less prone to overspraying or accidentally wearing something someone doesn't like, and they cost less than perfume.

Most people do not wear perfume outside of deodorant so it wouldn't be odd or anything.

there's a couple things I really dislike about the name Youth-Dew. Most importantly, rolls off the tongue badly. th-d. I don't like it. Also it conjures up the idea of the sweat of children being collected and bottled for old hags.
And as an addendum to reason #2, there's something a little too direct about the name. It's too explicitly telling the customer that this can help them seem younger, rather than a word or phrase that evokes it indirectly.

Yes it's quite camp, that's part of the appeal honestly. There is no greater thrill you can have on the perfume floor of a department store than confidently sauntering up to the Estée Lauder counter and insisting the counter girl retrieve the bottle of youth dew that is hidden away so that you may sample it.

It's an oldschool oriental, very balsamic. It sort of smells like Coca-Cola. Stetson is (hilariously for a scent marketed to men with pictures of tough cowboys and such) very similar. It definitely reminds me of the platonic smell of a grandma.

CW originally, despite its marketing, was a green frag with calone in it to simulate a seaside garden akin to Normandy with the ozonic touches coupled with the strong oakmoss, not a full-blown beach like the commercials made it out to be in the Mediterranean.
With the green aspects being cut after many reformulations along with the calone Cool Water became a marine scent rather than an aquatic one, very sad.

Not really when modern perfumery is prone to overuse aromachemicals like Iso E Super, which doesn't smell like anything for many people, or ambroxan which "burns out" when matured and smells like a dark smoky cloud that causes headaches.
Personally that shit that makes gourmands "boozy" makes me nauseous with its overly sweet and stale smell, it happens, that's why the blatant hate for them by some people.

The fake Western oud is basically the same chemical they throw into all fragrances. It smells like crayons to me and that is because it lacks the context. All that smells "animalic" has been purged from it, together with anythink skanky in any way. As soon as you smell real oud you realize how many facets have gone missing. However, the downside is that quite a few of them have some unpleasant undertones to them. I'm sure in a good real oud fragrance you can easily mask them, but if you buy small samples of random oud you will get a few poopy ones. I'm not interested in smelling like oud in general, so I never bought a real oud frag, but smelling real oud for the novelty is absolutely worth it.

Don't waste your money on smelly water, it's a fun hobby but also a luxury and not a necessity. Wait till you get some disposable income.

hi, I'm looking for a cold weather daytime frag focused on frankincense, smoke and possibly also coniferous plants, without leather, vanilla, powder, rose or creaminess
I want to give the impression of a laid back and dependable person, though I understand a frag is going to contribute only slightly
frags I've considered or am considering are
>Arso by Profumum Roma
amazing as everything PR but too smokey for my taste
>LAVS by Filippo Sorcinelli
a but too balsamic/nose piercing, and there's something very bitter that I can't quite place and that makes something visceral in me go "no"
>Interlude Man by Amouage
the one I'm considering most strongly, thought I can't smell anything coniferous in here, I f a mano x between this and Enclave existed I'd have bought it already
>Encre Noire à l'extrême by Lalique
sounds like it might be what I'm looking for but I can't find anywhere to try it and I'd like something a fair bit less sour than the original EN, with less iso-e super and a lot less vetiver
>Encens Satin by Armani
very good and realistic, though a bit too soft and much too expensive, especially for a designer frag
>Avignon by CDG
not very realistic, not very smokey and too two-dimensional, with hardly any smoke or conifers
>Zagorsk by CDG
a tad too cold, lots of conifers and not that much frankincense
>Cardinal by Heely
superb catholic church photorealism, though not that much smoke and with sub-par performance compared to the price
>Tiger's Nest by Memo
too two-dimensional, basically only frankincense, and pricier than I'd like
>Ikon by Zirh
nicely funky, I like the ginger which contributes to the nose-piercing, balsamic smell of the incense, though I found it too sweet and not smokey enough

any and all inputs are appreciated

The opulent opening notes of this olfactory opus are an arresting fusion of citrusy bergamot and zesty cardamom, which interplay with a sophisticated sensuality. This initial burst of freshness soon mellows into a heart that exudes warmth and depth, as the heady and aromatic nuances of lavender entwine with the rich and alluring tones of leather. The symphony crescendos into a grand finale with the base notes of vanilla and oriental amber, which lend a luscious sweetness that lingers on the skin, enveloping the wearer in an aura of irresistible magnetism.

But it is not just the composition that merits praise, for the performance of this fragrance is nothing short of extraordinary. With its Eau de Parfum concentration, Le Male Le Parfum exudes exceptional longevity, effortlessly accompanying the wearer throughout the day and into the night with its tenacious sillage. Its projection is commanding but never overbearing, evoking an air of refined elegance that leaves an indelible impression in any social setting.

The bottle design is a veritable work of art, befitting the avant-garde aesthetic that Jean Paul Gaultier is renowned for. Encased in a sculptural, masculine silhouette, the striking glass vessel is adorned with the iconic striped sailor shirt motif, an emblematic nod to Gaultier's rebellious spirit and unique style. It is a true collector's item that adds a touch of sophistication to any fragrance collection.

In conclusion, Jean Paul Gaultier's Le Male Le Parfum Eau de Parfum Intense Spray for Men is a masterpiece of perfumery that bespeaks of opulence, artistry, and refinement. Its complex and captivating composition, unparalleled performance, and exquisite bottle design make it a true olfactory gem that is sure to elevate the senses and garner compliments wherever it is worn. An olfactory opus that is truly worthy of the discerning connoisseurs of fragrance.

G*psy is a slur. Opre Roma!

Brands update, re-brand and reformulate all the time for many reasons. I don't think it would be out of reach for Byredo to simply rename this one. If this is a good scent, I'd never know, because I'm not going to touch it with a ten foot pole. G*psy is not my word to use, and I won't wear a frag whose name I wouldn't speak aloud. It doesn't mean free spirit, it doesn't mean wanderer, it's a slur used against a marginalized group.

I know this doesn't bother a lot of people, but whether we like it or not, our spending speaks for us. I hope people aren't buying this stuff because they explicitly don't care about the oppression and genocide of Romani and traveling folks. And if they aren't, maybe they shouldn't be buying it at all.

Nope, this is the only interlude clone I tried

For reference, yesterday I wore one spray of interlude in one wrist and another of midnight out on the other and I kept catching sniffes all shift. If I was putting my nose close to the wrist, interlude was more complex and richer, but on the air are almost indistinguishable.

Also longevity wise, I could still smell midnight oud on skin today, more than 15+ hours after I applied it, which wasn't the case for interlude.

In any case if I had unlimited money I would go for interlude , but for the price of interlude I would buy almost two liters of midnight oud , and that's a really unreasonable waste of money .try to get a sample and decide

>7 of which have been clearly written by you
I did the same thing on basenotes and the results were much the same
hate to disappoint but it's only 6 and i don't have a basenotes account. but if you want to go that route, sohrab has more reviews on parfumo than some ELDO fragrances, does that make ELDO a shitty brand?
>if this sounds reasonable to you all things considered
not really but i'll tell you what's reasonable: checking parfumo and buying from a sharing that's "only" 5€/ml. sure that's still expensive, but how much have you spent on all the incense fragrance samples until now? if you're european you can just sell it for the same price again because it's rare here.
i dislike ripoff prices and most of my collection are cheapies but when a fragrance is so good that it makes every other fragrance in the same genre obsolete, then it's worth it. the same is the case with zoologist's t-rex. if you have that you won't have to look into any other smoke fragrances, it won't get any better than that.
and for clarity i don't care about the brand nor any other of their perfumers, nor have i smelled their other offerings. but if you disregard an entire brand solely because "they don't have a lot of reviews" then you're missing a big part of what niche is supposed to be, i mean it's in the name.

You all hate Sauvage because it's throws the reality of the world in your face every time you smell it.
Sauvage isn't brilliant, it isn't exceptional, it isn't magical. It simply well put together, friendly, out going, doesn't quit and manages to fit in without changing in almost every situation. And that is more than good enough because the overwhelming majority of people love it. And this is documented time and time again, video after video and post after post. People love Sauvage.
Sauvage as a fragrance is what you wish you could be as a person, but aren't. Instead you'll sit around circle jerking the rare ingredients and exotic creations, lauding each other for your superior taste, looking down on the plebs who shower Sauvage with compliments. Why don't they compliment you? Isn't it obvious how much better your fragrance is? It's niche for gods sakes!
Nevermind that you don't actually understand what niche even means.
So you'll post and post, seething and pretending to laugh at your own wit each time you meme about Bois Imperial. But one black day you'll crack and do the unthinkable: You'll buy Sauvage. You won't post about it here of course, my god why would you? You have a completely anonymous reputation to protect! You'll spray it on and part of you will be ashamed and feeling transgressive, but a small sliver of you will feel hopeful for a change. Maybe, just maybe, today I'll be noticed. Today I'll get a compliment. I just want to feel what it's like one time, everyone else loves this stuff, surely there's one compliment left for me?
I genuinely pity you when you still won't get a compliment and are forced to confront the reality that even a jovial titan like Sauvage cannot mask how rotten, desolate and unappealing you are.

So keep shitting on Sauvage, spray your niche of the month or whatever arab oil is getting hawker now. Much like a tranny pretends to be a woman you are equally delusional in your claims of superiority. Cope and seethe.

It’s not that I think sauvage sucks, it’s that I don’t want to smell like her dad, and her ex and her co worker and the guy who hit on her while at the grocery store and her boss, because that is who you smell like when you wear sauvage, like almost every single man who wears cologne.

>why does this anon associate it to miami vice?
Florida people/heatchads don't know what a winter frag is, they know about non-A.C./daytime frags (freshies) and A.C./nighttime frags (nighttime/office). Also in consideration back then all frags were by default heavy performers or "beasts" like nowadays influencers have gaslighten us, a single spray of Fahrenheit could last 5 hours and project moderately which was enough to go walking.
Now imagine nighttime around december with cold 25 degrees C in a fancy club bar, that's Fahrenheit
>aqua fahrenheit
RIP but that was released until 2011 i believe. Fucking dumb for having discontinued that.

Cool Water Intense has nothing to do with Cool Water. If you want Cool Water, stay far away from it. It's a stronger, more citrus-y and slightly coconutty version of Laura Biagotti Roma Uomo from the same perfumer. Performance is good and most complaints are something about the "synthetic smell" during the opening, which comes from real mandarin orange oil (we have reached the point where the real materials smell synthetic to people). If you want something powdery, sweet and somewhat fresh fragrance, feel free to try it. If you want CW, as already mentioned, stay away. (It also has nothing to do with Invictus)

Within the span of a week I've bought:

Prada Luna Rossa Black
Azzaro Most Wanted Parfum (My favorite one so far of the new stuff I've bought)
Creed Aventus
Givenchy Gentleman EDP (I bought this online without sampling it first and this is a scent that is hard for me to enjoy. Guess I deserve it.)
Tom Ford Ombre Leather (My co-worker told me this was very fem)
Valentino Uomo Intense
Givenchy Gentleman Society

How basic am I? I just got into the whole fragrance thing. I already owned

YSL Y Le Parfum
Armani Code Parfum
Dior Homme EDT
Some Louis Vuitton I got as a gift, Idk the one.

one hint that you cannot yet understand about this hobby but you will hopefully appreciate: slow down

those bottles will last you for ages, and just as your taste changes rapidly (at least i hope so) in whatever you do, these bottles will be far beyond what you'd like to wear before you have a 5ml dent in them. i'm speaking out of experience as the designer fragrances that i bought very early haven't seen sunlight in years

that being said: what you have bought is ok, very basic
