NTA, but how would you recommend going about the process?
I see a lot of guides talk about using a toothbrush, but surely that's going to leave marks on polished steel, and probably even on brushed surfaces.

GPS is 100% passive. A GPS receiver just takes signals from satellites and calculates your position. It doesn't have to calculate anything.

In this case, a GPS watch doesn't even have to do that, it just has to calculate the time.

Why hasn't anyone made a HAQ watch that compensates the time drift based on GPS/radio?

If my time was accurate at 00:00 and was 1 second too slow by 23:59, it should be simple to increase the speed by 1/86400. Over time, this would get you a nearly perfect estimate of the crystal's inherent inaccuracy.

I have a Casio FT-111H.

How the hell do I change the strap on this thing? I presume I need to do something about these front screws, but nothing happens when I turn them, I can't even get them loose.

Do I need to clean them somehow? Or is there something else I need to do to release the bar?

It looks like the case has 2 parts, and the bar doesn't have anything a release tool can grab onto, so I'm pretty sure I need to take it apart somehow.

Should I just add WD40 to the screws or something? Will that even help? Is there some trick for removing screws that just turn but won't come loose?

I almost got robbed yesterday, I'm still shaking. I was walking home from the pub when 3 guys apprached me and told me to show my watch.
When I said that I'd rather not, one of them pulled out a gun.
Almost couldn't get the clasp open because I was shaking too much.
I just didn't want to get killed man.
When I presented the watch one of them said "wait a minute, is that what I think that is?"
They looked at each other and the ring leader responded: "Indeed, a watch of beautiful craftsmanship. The exquisite dial playfully dances with the moon light. An Islander watch! You know what honky, you are alright. You can keep that watch."
They then complimented me for my taste in affordable luxury and went on their merry way.

>The idea that you'd take off your watch to "give it a rest" when it moves the same amount either way doesn't make any sense.
It does make sense. The rotor moves around while you're wearing it and winds the watch. You don't need to crank on it all the time, it's okay to let it wind down naturally. Positioning and shock also affect how the watch components move, that's why you lose more or less time depending on if the watch is laying face up or face down or on its side. All of this and more is why a lot of people advise against overusing watch winders. It's good for the watches to let them chill a bit.

Lying to yourself how expensive watches are better is so cringe. Only retards would pay more than $300 for a good watch. Nobody has ever been able to explain to me what exactly makes Rolex better than Seiko.Godspeed though retards its your money.

I personally enjoy microbrands way more. Shitty overpriced brands like: Le Coultre? A. Lange & Söhne? Nomos? Dumb overpriced pieces of junk metal for dumb pieces of junk people.

If you want to know what watches you should get instead take the first letter of every sentence.

I have cheap, mid range and luxury watches which I selectively post to make fun of whoever I'm fighting with on /wt/.

Someone with a cheap quartz wants to pretend they are smarter than luxury watch owners? I post a rare, cool and also cheap quartz that will likely be better than theirs

Someone with a mid-range automatic wants to shit on cheap quartz shitters or luxury watches? I post a top tier mid-range watch that will likely be better than theirs

Someone with a luxury watch wants to shit on cheap watch owners? I post my most expensive watch which is more expensive than 95% of the watches posted here.
