724 Maison Francis Kurkdjian
What does it smell like?

I bought samples for 8 different Maison Kurkdjian fragrances (am man):
Petit Matin: noticeably similar to aqua vitae with the lemon pledge
Aqua Vitae: laundry detergent opening: this time lemon pledge. can tell other notes are behind, but the whole fragrance disappeared like a fart in the wind. I guess the oils are so good for the skin that the body absorbs the whole thing. Trace amounts of orange left on skin scent
Amyris Homme: great opening mandarin and iris. sweet yet masculine. much nicer than aqua celestia but at same level of sweetness
Gentle Fluidity Silver: Great Opening is very juniper, then dries down to woody/minty/musk similar to aqua universalis but with a mintier brightness.
Oud Satin Mood: sweet piercing floral oud. Opening is feminine. Drydown becomes more masculine. It's muted oud.
Baccarat Rouge: smells like a dentist's office. It's the jasmine and fir. and it switches to cotton candy later. I don't know why women love this, but women are insane.
Aqua Celestia:All aquas smell like laundry detergent. this one is supposed to be 'green'. absolutely not. smells like roses and musk. Sweeter than universalis. delicious tide pods. i'm guessing he was going for clouds during a storm.
Aqua Universalis: Extremely laundry detergent smelling. Very smooth. Musk and citrus drydown. It does smell like 'void' so I guess he did hit the universal smell on the head.

The standouts to me are Amyris Homme, Gentle Fluidity Silver, and Oud Satin Mood with Amyris Homme taking the #1 spot. That said I just spent the last 40 minutes huffing my arms so I guess it's time to kill myself. Thank you for reading my blogpost.

What types of fragrances do you like? What types of fragrances are you looking for? Niche houses are generally know specifically for different things. Montale, for example, are known for their oud. Creed generally makes lighter, more ephemeral scents (so much so that they've slowly been replacing Aventus with essence of air over the years).

Citruses are notoriously delicate. They're generally the first notes to dissipate in most perfumes. Same goes for freshies. Generally fresh scents don't have longevity in general. If you're looking for Niche freshies, the Blu Mediterraneo line from Acqua di Parma is very good, although they don't last very long. Some individual scents you can try are:

Creed Millesime Imperial: Salty, oceanic, fruity. Smells like you're on a beach, eating fruit. Longevity is light, to put it mildly. This is a recurring problem with many Creeds, barring the heavier ones. That's not to say Creed is a bad house. Another choice from Creed is Green Irish Tweed. This one is fresh in a different way. (Cool Water from Davidoff is a similar scent for 1/10 the price. Try that first if you're not sure)

MFK L'homme A La Rose: This one's mostly floral. It's a very convincing rose scent that's light and fresh to me. The longevity is pretty good. MFK in general has strong longevity.

Acqua di Parma Fico di Amalfi: From the Blu Mediterraneo line I mentioned earlier. This one I'd say is the standout, although they're all quite good. Fruity and fresh. The longevity is light.

PDM Greenley: This one is green and fruity. Very clean and easy to like. Also it has some sweetness. Longevity is pretty good.

For some that aren't niche:

The entire Acqua di Gio line: Alberto Morillas knows what the fuck he's doing when it comes to freshies. The entire Acuqa di Gio line would be right up your alley if you're looking for a clean, fresh, right out of the shower feel.

Bvlgari Man Wood Neroli: Also done by Alberto Morillas. It's my favorite in the line, and to me it's the freshest of the lot. Currently discontinued, but you can still find it for a fairly reasonable price For more options in the same line, try Glacial Essence, Bvlgari Man Extreme (I think this is discontinued and rare now), and Rain Essence. Acqua Atlantique from Bvlgari is also good, but that one is pretty rare nowadays.

Back in the day it was a bomb perfume, nowadays it got reformulated to a clean freshie rather than the metallic floral it supposedly was at the beginning.
It isn't bad but i cannot go into its scent profile without smelling the original releases, who knows what the fuck they did to it.
