Bought an Aqua Terra 2 weeks ago.
My best friend asked me how much I paid for it.
After I told him he had this look on his face, almost like pity but he said he was happy for me.
That same evening it hit me, he was right. What the fuck am I doing buying a watch for 6000 bucks?
I remember when I bought my first Timex 8 years ago and thought $70 was almost too much. How did it get this bad for me?
I have friends who's cars are cheaper than the Terra.
While I do have lots of disposable income I just couldn't justify owning something like that. Went back to my Omega boutique and they took it back no questions asked.

Even my Sinn 104 St Sa I MG feels like a retarded choice now.
This isn't a "hobby" this is plain consuming.

See ya fucks, I'm going on new adventures.

You see, this is why smart people buy Rolex.
Everyone know Rolex are expensive watches. So when people see you wearing they won't ask questions. They'll just assume you wanted to celebrate some special event, or you just like nice expensive things. Besides, everyone knows Rolex hold their value.

When you buy an expensive non-Rolex watch, they'll just look at you funny and think you're bad with money.

I would lean towards certified watch autistic, a lot of watch guys seem to love heavy pieces of shit. You know you can always just buy a strap with a stupid gimmick clasp, right? Those add a solid 50g to a watch.

Titanium is mediocre, it scratches too easily and doesn't look as good as steel. The weight savings don't mean anything when half the titanium shit is bulky as hell anyway, if they just make the parts slimmer they could've used steel and got the same weight.

Personally I don't like anything over 120g.

Really idiotic question since nobody would ever do it, but what if someone made a really nicely machined case and a decent bracelet or high end leather for an F91 or F105? It's not that crazy a question, but the market just isn't big enough for it. An example of something similar would be the g-shock squares, a few years back Casio started offering them with steel/titanium outer cases. The inner piece was still plastic, but the rubber you stick to the outside was now steel, same with the strap. Chinks cloned it, and there are a few similar things like steel case mods for the casioak.

The number of people who want a high end F91 is just too low, it's a cheap watch, you throw it out and get a new one in 10 years when the case gets too beat up. Why spend 350 bucks making your F91 look cooler when you could spend it on a nicer watch to begin with?

I asked this one time before, I'll be in Los Angeles in a few weeks. Should I wear the 300m on OEM rubber or Willard on rubber.

I haven't been to the USA post covid, last time was NYC pre covid. I would be happy wearing a 300m in Manhattan but not out of it for ref, I will be driving destination to destination.

The ones with the automatic movement are really good. Not much out there is as thin, with that much water resistance, and an in-house movement. They come in a couple sizes so you can get one that fits. Obviously, they come in tons of colors. I like the Atlantik color scheme.

The lume on the dial isn't great and the winding action feels very industrial, though the accuracy of the movement is reputed to be quite good once it's broken-in.
They depreciate brutally, so getting a good deal on a second-hand safe queen is easy.

The looks are subjective, but that's how it always is.
