I love picrel so much bros. I've been using it as my daily all winter long, but it's very much a cold weather scent and I have a feeling I'm gonna be up a creek without a paddle for frags that suit me as well as it when it warms up. Anything close to it (rose heavy while still masculine) but a bit more summery?

Tea rose by Perfumers Workshop.

Starts with a very boozy rose liqueur note. Quickly develops an airier, more citrus woodsy aspect where the greener aspects of rose predominate. On my skin both facets of rose predominate for the (very long) lifespan of this perfume. Perfectly unisex as it lacks sweetness, perfectly priced at about €15 euros. The packaging is very art deco via your grandmother's vanity circa the 1970s, the hippy aromatherapy vibes of perfumers workshop is reflected mostly through the honest rusticity of the fragrance.

Highly recommended given its price. Estée Lauder believed that women should have access to perfumes as an affordable luxury (hence youth dew, cinnabar etc...). Tea rose was clearly composed with this maxim in mind. Anybody with even a passing interest in fragrance should own this, if not to wear then for use as a room spray.

Always had decent experiences with eBay but got my first bad one. Guess I was due to deal with a dog cunt eventually. Pretty sure this mf filled this shit up with nail varnish or some shit, fucking pain in the ass, gonna have to now message him, best case scenario he just gives me a return label and I have to go down and post this shit back, wasting my fucking time. Worst case open up a dispute and deal with that bullshit. How he thought I wouldn't realise is beyond me. Worst part is I'm pretty sure one of the bottles is real but feels way below what he said the fill level is (this brand's bottle are impossible to see into, no matter how powerful the flashlight or whatever). I get not being a 100% correct in your estimate if you're a good faith actor but you can tell just by the feel and swish of the liquid inside that it isn't "nearly full". Fucking pissed bros.

I don’t want to mention names. However, If you have nothing good to say, don’t just go about knocking every fragrance you review. It spoils the imagination of those who might like/love the fragrance when they try it. Some have even voted and rated unreleased fragrances in the past. Unreleased fragrances they haven’t tried. You are forgetting not everyone uses frags and not everyone smells everyone else, and also the fact making a niche frag your signature is futile as very few last for more than 10 years, and also the other fact most people are dummies and forget such details unless you are persistent with the fact.
If you have never developed a relationship with someone with a signature, perhaps your dad or grandpa with some "dad frag" then i am sorry, you must be black.

Yes, i hate all of them along with every Bleu Noir except Extreme because it isn't like the rest, i think it is a poor flanker in its line due to not sharing much despite being called Extreme.
I would like to say dislike but no, it is hate because i was told it was the best and most manly Cartier but it is far from it, a really well blended bottle with good rose but Eau De Cartier, Pasha Noir, Santos, the old Roadster and even the original Pasha before it smelled like nothing at all are much more manlier, wasted the first coins i put in the hobby for some samples of Declaration and i felt ripped off.
I think Santos is a very underrated bottle, not seen often because it is not sold in the US and in Europe supposedly it is rarely on discounters, a herbal bomb not unlike Declaration except it is much more greener and with a touch of musk. Also a man can wear it or at least it could before the reformulation, it is decent but performance is trash, i think that's Cartier's main problem because the ones that perform well smell funky or stale like Pasha Parfum and L'Envol.

Crowdpleasers almost by definition are overused: Bleu de Chanel, Allure Sport, Versace Homme and Dylan Blue, Montblanc Legend ED Parfum and Spirit (ED Parfum is more of a night time/fall-winter thing), Azzaro Chrome, CK One, Lacoste Blanc, YSL Y but can't say for sure because i don't really remember how it smells.
Pick your poison there, i bet there's more in better blends and profiles but for the price and ubiquity in most stores you can pick any of those and be good, problem would be performance and that wildly depends on batch.
Bleu de Chanel EDP would the best performer but probably also the most expensive one out of the bunch. For hipster points i would pick Azzaro Chrome because it stopped being overused by the early 00's but you have to reapply that thing every 3 hours.

Azzarofags can complete a year with their line, Chrome and flankers in spring/summer, Wanted and flankers in fall/winter, Homme at night/evening and in mild conditions. Now was also good but discontinued because green scents are not that popular nowadays.

>which is atrocious
It was the best one out of the 4 i tried (essential, edt, soir, a green faded one) no the original Declaration doesn't have that much rose (in my opinion there is some in there) but it has that sweaty armpit smell my nose picks, all of them.
The scent profile never peaks, it is subtle and noble all the way but that fresh sweat and pungent sharp spice that waves around its florals doesn't sit well in me. Mind you i really don't think they are bad, i just don't like it none.
>Funny enough I can't stand Santos and like l'envoi and pasha parfum.
Well that just means you are consistent, you dislike what i like and i hate what you like, that means we are both right in our tastes. Supposedly Santos had a concentrated version which i could never find, that one would've made you gag while Declaration has a parfum version which i don't want to smell, Pasha parfum too was a massive disappointment for me because my pop had it and i recall its oakmoss+mint profile while nowadays it has no oakmoss and the mint has been neutered to a sweet Wringleys-tier mint rather than the sharp but never obnoxious Clorets-tier mint... the parfum is just rum with caramel.
L'Envol was hyped by the saleslady to be the one that the most fancy and well-positioned clients buy, i really like the bottle but to me the scent smells like a mess in the aperture, buttcrack in the heart and a pungent honey note in the final drydown.

You probably would've liked Roadster Black, i didn't, it was a woody vanilla with mint, kinda like a weird bridge between Pasha and Pasha Parfum but without the booziness. Cool bottle too, Cartier never disappoints in that regard aside from Eau de Cartier.

I just get honey and violet, but it is a bit sickening after awhile. Pasha I agree with. I like it better than the edt, but its just okay. I'm actually not sure if I remember Santos correctly, because I tried it very early on and may have gotten it mixed up with this clove scent in a similar bottle. Maybe Santos smells a bit like gentleman with a bit of stale cigarette smoke and something sweet but muted. Bleu Noir is just like declaration without all that caraway. Declaration really does smell like sweat on the dry down and the scent is the most spice rack-y thing ive ever smelled. I'd definitely like to try eau d'cartier. >clove scent
I heavily dislike clove, Santos would be an acrid experience for me if it was clovy. I think it does have some under the hood but very little, its herbal and spices go more around pepper, basil, rosemary, lavender, patchouli and some wood. Now that i think of it there might be some clove mixed in with the pepper because it is somewhat sweet, but it appears in the drydown where the wood drowns it. It's one of those perfumes that mix every ingredient in the shelves, "the whole is more than the sum of its parts".
It's an italian fresh rack mixed in with the gentleman-vibe you well said, i associate with booze and tobacco because that's how my pop smelled when he used that frag as it was his business reunion bottle
>the most spice rack-y thing ive ever smelled
Declaration does smell like that but in a very dry and household form, Santos does in a fresh bistro sense. Oddly enough i was gifted some obscure soda bottles because mom said they tasted like Santos, because of the dirty implication that she actually has tasted it from my pop i decided to try the soda and yeah, i can see that; uses japanese cloves, jap high grass buds and jap floor-level bush. Ego Herbal it is called.

>eau d'cartier
Somewhat generic but well done violet leaf with citrus and woods, but never so masculine like GIT or Zegna Uomo. Concentree is supposedly full man with two balls but i've never found it on stores, also later discontinued.
>high quality and classy to me, I just dont love any of it
They use good material but they seem to underperform nowadays, IFRA has definitely fucked their shit but they insist on using the same ingredients which i like, shame it reduces most of their stuff into cologne-levels of performance. Their women line is supposedly better, La Panthere was a very nice scent but i know little of that so i don't know if it is generic or not, i liked it very much, somewhat bitter citrus with sweet tones/rhubarb and oakmoss-patchouli base.

Its not that I smell clove in it. I just dont know whether what im remembering as digusting me was Santos or Jacamo. The only 80s powerhouse frag I really like is kouros and even that makes me sick if im eating lol Holy shit that soda sounds disgusting. Everything fucking underperforms now days. I'm to the point where it seems pointless to own anything older than 5 years because IFRA rapes everything eventually. Fuck IFRA jews. La Panthere sounds pretty good. I tried Baiser Fou because Turin gave it a good review but it was a sickly sweet raspberry white chocolate that I didn't really like. You seem to have sampled a lot, so im surprised you liked Declaration Soir. I raid retail shops and mingle with the salesladies, pick the testing papers i use and spread them in my apt. to smell after 6 hours. Then when they lose the scent i pack them up tightly and wait some days, that's when the ambroxan and all the common base chemicals appear.
I test every name i recognize but i haven't checked everything in the stores and some testers are absolute dogs, you mentioned Toy Boy: I haven't smelled one of those teddy bears that has smelled the same, they all smell different and vary wildly. Some smell overly sweet and very faint, others like rose and pretty strong, others like faint sweet rose, others like syrup, i always triple check Toy Boy to see if it is not a flanker and no, they vary a lot so i can never say anything about it.
Same with Terre D' Hermes, always somewhat different and i can never smell it that strong, straight from the bottle smells like a skin scent to me, guess i am a noselet for Iso E Super YET i supposedly have a bottle that uses that a whole lot and it smells like pure pencil but creamy.
But i know very little of niche frags because i can buy a closet bottle with the money rather than a 5ml sample. Closet is what i refer to very popular frags that aren't on retail/physical stores for some obscure reason, most of the time classics like Drakkar Noir, Grey Flannel, Quorum, Pino Silvestre, Bogart and Lagerfeld stuff, they are hidden in storage in some weirdo stores and online salesmen. Cartier is practically a closet fragrance line in the US and Canada.

>IFRA rapes everything
Arab shit is probably the small-economy hobbyist's future
>that soda sounds disgusting.
Tastes like italian chinotto soda in the beginning but quickly goes into strong herbal notes, almost medicinal but not there yet. Sucralose shits all over it sadly, that's the IFRA-equivalent of soft drinks, the lack of real cane sugar.
>Vapor Rub

The immediate opening off the spray can be unpleasant, like sting-your-nose unpleasant. Don't know what that ingredient is but they should stop using it.

If you hold your breath for 5 secs while spraying then the opening is a very pleasant and almost summery pear and something floral, it dries down into a gorgeous saffron/tobacco which is a bit heavier. It can be used year-round except very hot summer or hot humid days. Autumn to spring, no problem. Its strong so don't overspray. It can survive a shower unless you scrub the skin where it was applied which you may see as a feature or a bug, obviously former for me as I need longevity if I'm spending 100 on a bottle.
I find it quite unique, I haven't smelled anything else quite like it. As someone else said its a bit a-rab but nowhere near as much as anything oud, which I can't stand but half this board chugs like a camel fucking sand shovellers so sample it and see what you think.

Champion Black has arrived. No oakmoss on the ingredient list. Gonna give it a proper wear tomorrow and test it against other stuff, but as of right now I've dabbed it on my wrist and it opened way more like a Cool Water scented shower gel and has now dried down into a mix of Cool Water and Montblanc Legend (EdP), with some of that "violet" background GIT has. In any case, it's not the pure CW smell but with performance, since the smell already strays away from CW. Not bad, though.

Only two real choices, I've tried them and both last way to goddamn long, at least 15hrs in warm weather.

>Homme Intense EDT
To me this one is heavier on the woody notes (Akigalawood) and medium on the marine scent but it also adds some complexity with other accords, I smelled faint watermelon aroma after 2 to 3hrs on the skin and even fainter... something else.
Personally I found this one more muddle than the other one, less straight forward (or more "complex and sophisticated" if you end up liking it more).

>Homme Eau de Parfum
This is less complex and has 3 accords it goes through (in order): Marine, Woody and Patchouli. Each one having its time in the spotlight as it develops. On 1st spray it's a lovely Marine scent adorned with a woody note, then the Marine accord fades and the wood is adorned with the earthy musky Patchouli, and then the wood fades and the faintly spicy earthy Patchouli brings it home.
I went with this since I was specifically looking for a maritime scent and this is just a perfect picture of sailing to the sea on a old boat at 5am.

tldr: Intense is woodier, EdP simpler

Just tried this one again, a Polo Blue miniature splash bottle from more than 10 years ago, after a long while. It is a strange experience now that i've read the note breakdown:
Officially this is a melon + mandarin + cucumber, some smelly leaves like basil and geranium and a base of woods, suede and musk.

It has 5 of my most liked ingredients, that's the theory because the reality is it opens with a deep synthetic basil mixed in with some bitter-ish but elegant citrus, probably akin to the peels of a sweet orange but perhaps it is the mandarin, all the ozonic vibes from the melon and cucumber are absent, there's no ozone scent akin to Fahrenheit at all because right after the basil+orange appears the base, a dense musky scent that is probably the musk+suede combo and with small touches of some aromatic stuff which i suppose is the thing that tried to be sage and woods, but doesn't remind of woods but more of a musky musk leather.

Reviews mention this is an airy ozonic freshie but honestly this smells like some EDP of a warm nighttime frag, it is fresh due to the citrus but the entire thing hits the nose like a punch rather than a breeze. Was it really that reformulated or does the splash application just makes all the notes hit at the same time? because this is as artificially dense as Montblanc Legend when it dries down, that synthetic musk that lingers around heavily and goes directly into your forehead when you smell it.

Performance in a zoomer office sense, that is indoors in a controlled weather without doing any physical activity, is around 6 hours but you can still faintly sniff it at 8 hours. On the streets with the occasional wind on a sunny day it lasts maybe 2 or 3 hours if you are lucky which is decent because shit doesn't more than 2 often.
I think it is a pretty manly frag after the shower but reviewers are smelling something else or are batshit insane if they think this smells like shower gel, it has shared notes but the scent hits like a truck.

Second, I love Loewe frags. Escencia and Homme are great old school frags, the solo line is really well done but for me the 7 line is my favorite since I love incense. The 7 line is basically Comme Des Garcon levels of incense quality, and the best one is Plata because it mashes up really weird shit like citrus, mint and incense and it works beautifully and lasts all day for me. I don't get compliments often, but in the year I've worn Plata three women and one man have stopped me in public to tell me I smell great. That's just not something that happens often for me.

do not write posts like a redditor, and no lavender is not a fresh note, it's more of a calm/loundry note, it smells like mothballs to some, since a lot of anti-moth stuff for closets is lavender scented. but if you have tried a lot of fougeres you probably do not like lavender anyway.
as for frags with prominent lavender:
Pour Un Homme de Caron
Jicky Guerlain
XJ 1861 Naxos Xerjoff
L'Occitane en Provence
Brilliantly British Penhaligon's
F by Ferragamo Black
Bucoliques de Provence L'Artisan Parfumeur

Also I've sampled enough fragrances to know I really don't like that sort of fresh, aftershave, shower gel soapy type smell.

The only fragrances that might be considered fougere I've tried would be eau de minthe by diptyque and ysl kouros, possibly others escaping my memory.

>I'll never understand the praise some people give it
Really green stuff is for some reason divisive nowadays, but it's one of those frags people proclaim the original and the reformulation to be different things so we can't really know unless we get to sniff both.
>high pitched syntheticness
Spot on, i liked how it smelled but it was obvious something happened there, Egoiste Platinum which attempts a green aperture of cut grass too doesn't get that at all yet LEDI goes all for it and doesn't help the citrus is acid at times.

I remember, those were a niche cache.

>I am utterly ignorant and uncultured
We can see that buddy, glad you are using decant travel bottles because airport customs are uber jews with anything inside a bottle.

The green-ness in the background is the only thing that makes it mildly interesting compared to something like ADG. I compare every green frag to No 19 though, which I find disgusting. Platinum I liked at first, but I just smell banana now. It smelled completely different to me when I first smelled it.

try reading the text on the flowchart. it couldn't be easier. it's all laid out for you. do you need an ai-generated voice to read it for you while you watch a subway surfer video?
