Do it. I'm so bored of seeing people wear boring sunglasses. If anyone's interested, kits.ca is selling their own brand glasses for $30cad instead of $130cad(so their actual price) and I'm pleasantly surprised by the quality, the temples have metal on the inside so they can be adjusted. do you happen to have the "fear and loathing" model by any chance? thats the 1 rayban i really want. the only thing not making me buy it sooner is that theres no silver model, and i prefer to wear silver metal to match with my jewelry

cazals are great sunglasses. peak retro luxury. my favorites are the 968 model that al pacino wore in "donnie brasco" pic related. theyre a great starter model before you delve into the louder pairs

what are JMM?

i heard of matsuda and that they make great pairs. but i admittedly dont know much about them. ive only ever seen the red steampunk pair that robert downey jr. wears in "iron man 3" and those oval pairs with the red/blue/purple tint lenses that look matrix-y

I really want to get the original Shooter model but I have the same problem that all my chains and rings are sterling. I'll probably still get them eventually with the classic yellow lens but I really do need some white metal frame glasses, I'll probably also buy some gold jewelry when I can finally afford it, got a mental block that won't let me enjoy plated or gilt stuff.
For Cazals I have my eyes on the 163/301 (pic related) and the 607/006 (candy red), maybe some 958s like Vanilla Ice.

I got a mullet, I grow a moustache like Tom Selleck in the summer, so I like the big 80s plastic aviators which are dominant in my collection. The ray bans just feel out of place and don't compliment my style. If you're in Canada I'll sell em to you, $50 with shipping as long as it doesn't cost much to send them.

Are there any brands with a similar shape to raybans wayfarers? I like them because they aren’t too blocky or square which I don’t think would suit me. idk if buying name brand wayfarers is worth it just for the look. I like the way they look though and like I said I want something that isn’t too block or square because it suits me better. Not in Canada sorry but I appreciate the offer.

Almost every brand will have something similar to wayfarers, unless you're a fan of the brand for some particular reason, no they're not worth it. Polaroid is the brand I recommend for someone who doesn't want to spend much money on decent glasses, can be had for under $100 and they're all polarized. I've also been shilling Kits itt because they have a sale where you can get their glasses for $30 Canadian monopoly dollars, idk how much they charge for US shipping but if it's not much they're def worth it. Even at full price the quality is there but for $130 cad I rather get polarized Polaroids for less.

I look stupid wearing anything like aviators.

Thanks yeah most of the guys I’ve met from my job are pretty cool , main surprise is their sense of humor. wasn’t expecting to hear the outlandish ridiculous jokes and shit they talk about. Kind of funny because it reminds me almost of people here, in contrast to the way people talk at other jobs. Lots of dude humor like stuff about balls cocks and “hoses”.

Look into the 2 brands I mentioned, Polaroid and kits. Both have good construction, good feeling plastic, nice hardware(hinges), fit and finish, kits even has a metal frame in the plastic temples so an optician could adjust them to your head. This is also an answer also to your nice sunglasses question. Go hold a pair of h&m sunglasses and then go handle something like Cazals or Gucci glasses. If you have a feel for details you'll be able to feel the difference.

OP, just try the glasses. The one that fits your face will feel just right for you, trust me. Don't think it too much, just try a lot of them and you'll find the one.

for me, they fit nicely--they're comfortable and i like the grey tint.
i've had these for at least 5 years and they're kind of bent, but that's due to abuse--the hinges are not loose/worn and the lenses are not scratched.

>> No.17546253

Guy who was asking about rayban wayfarers earlier, this may sound naive but do any of the cheap 15.00 knock offs on Amazon have the exact same shape? I just want something with that basic look to evaluate them. do all rayban wayfarer clones have slightly different frame or lens shapes? I want a cheap every day pair I can use for a few months and if I like them enough I will buy a real pair in the future. I thought it might be a smart way to go about it.

The main confusion I’m having is it seems like there are “new” and “original” wayfarers, I have no idea if the bootlegs copy the “old” or “new” style. and that confounds things further because I see people saying the lens sizes on eBay aren’t what’s advertised. But the lens sizes between the old and new wayfarers are also different.

TLDR looking for a cheap and dirty pair for the time being and will research the other options/brands later.

>do all rayban wayfarer clones have slightly different frame or lens shapes?
Yes
> I want a cheap every day pair I can use for a few months and if I like them enough I will buy a real pair in the future. I thought it might be a smart way to go about it.
I buy AliExpress versions of glasses I might like as a demo, but I pic more distinct shapes like Oakley's Sutros or Cazal 958. You could do that. Hell, look into aofly on AliExpress, they're a cheap brand that supposedly makes very good sunglasses, I've been looking to get a pair of beaters from them.
I don't know enough about them to help you more than this. Avoid super cheap crap like the Amazon sunglasses, there is no guarantee they'll actually have UV protection and the lens could cause distortion, both of these things are bad for your eyes.

The last sunglasses thread I remember going over 100 posts was over a year ago and you always gets idiots saying get crap gas station glasses. The Ray ban guys I tolerate, they are least understand the value of a decent pair of sunglasses even if I find them a bit boring. I do like watches too I can kinda see why people don't like use them, personally I'm to use to one, using my phone to check the time feel retarded to me, but sunglasses are essential and are good for eye health.
