Opinions on Christopher ward, you glorious autists? I'm in the market for my first kinda serious watch, and I encounter heavy cw shilling. It basically goes "you wont get this much value for your 1-2k anywhere else". Yeah, many models look nice and wearable aside from the obvious ridiculousl picrel, but the whole cw gig feels kinda off. Or am I just talking shit with prejudice?

To me, It on the contary seemed sus that they as a microbrand offer something like cosc sertificate true gmt (with usual MEGA UBER special edition FINISHING titanium assburgers etc, if the website to be believed) for 1300 pounds, while something like a swatch group mido can do the same without, but the cosc sertificate or meme magical materials. There must be a catch.

I recommend the Amazfit Neo as a beater. It cost me £25 and has become my most worn wwatch recently. It has one of the biggest LCD displays I've seen recently (RIP SBGN001), battery lasts over a month and tracks your sleep and exercise. The backlight is a proper EL lumination and it tracks your heart rate. More accurate that 99% of automatic watches too obv.

For the ones who are always "not quite make it". A decent enough brand, without trully finding their identity, doing whatever, and therefore forever not being a cool niche, or even tryhard hipster microbrand, and also without being trully mass appealing. Nobody would be trully proud or repulsed by the notion of "i wear frederique constant", and their lies a problem. Its basically the same souless cookie cutter watch on par with tissot for normies, who were memed by salesgirl in a mall into believeing that fc is somewhat more sophisticated, but ultimately leaves absolutely everyone indifferent.

Tudor is a proper solid big guy watch, nothing truly wrong with image, philosophy, tech and design. Its allready scraping mid-high tier luxury prices and position, therefore tries to be adequate. But there is one eternal irredeemable stigma it has, even normies are kinda in on it. That being a supposed "discount rolex" in form, said image, and discount price. It even is praised for being "what rolex used to be, and kinda affordable etc". Inherently, this fact puts it on a map, and simultaneously forever makes it a number two, robs it of some originality and real impact. Basicaly, those who buy it, are doomed to think, mention and live with eternal "its like rolex but cheaper etc" notion. Nothing majorly wrong with that, but considering the 4k price on average, its such a boring, safe and kinda apologetic choice by nature, it attracts the appropriate crowd. Aka "enthusiasts" who almost can into a rolex but kinda still cant, and at the same time dont have the balls or knowledge to pull the trigger on something original in that weightclass.

Bros, I need help. I need a set of notched pins (the tube and pin type) where the tube is at least 10mm in length, and the pins are 23mm (or bigger, I can cut them down) - Pins have to be 1mm in diameter, too. I can only find the big packs of 6mm ones, which won't work. These are for a vintage gold-plated Tissot Seastar ref.40205 if anyone happens to have a parts sheet or something. FWIW: I also tried springbars, which are far too small and will also not work. I have a spare stainless steel 40205 I could harvest pins from, but I really don't want to do this as it is a nice watch and the gold one is a little bit beat.

Pic related, it's the watch. I just serviced it and it came without a bracelet and with severe battery corrosion hence the dial damage towards the bottom, so I'm going to have to notch a leather strap to fit it, as the modern PRX ones aren't the same size.

My date discs are very well aligned, as you can see from the pic.

I saw Fatsorico's video yesterday.
I think he's misunderstanding the problem. Ludwig Oechslin designed that module to allow the date discs of his perpetual calendar to be adjusted forward and backwards, which is an amazing improvement in perpetual movements, and they eventually added the module to simple dual times, like mine, but failed to understood the common buyer at this price range.

It's true that the discs can be set forward or backwards, but the owner should still be careful and try to not adjust it between 10:30 p.m. and 1:30 a.m. as with any other watch. If they do, with the passing of the years, the movement gears will endure too much stress and eventually fail. Because Ludwig Oechslin's brilliant improvement, they discs won't stuck, but suffer too much wear and start to missaligne. Since I've never adjusted the date between the no-no hours, ten years later my discs are still sharp and precisely aligned.

Thanks m8. I'm looking forward to have a great time in Africa. Picrel is one of the images that is going to be auctioned during the exhibition.

I suggest you to put the Sportsman in a different strap before put it for sale. Try something fun and a bit unexpected. As it is, it looks rather too formal for more situations. See if changing the strap moves you into wearing it again. If not, will talk.

These watches are an absolute scam. They declare their shitters to customs in a way that ensures you get a bill for at least 30% of the watches price.
Maybe eurofags can stomach this but no, as an american I refuse.
You can ask them to ship via dhl and not declare anything and they'll refuse too, those faggots.
