Currently I'm leaving my beard a little longer but I'm still not using specific shampoo or conditioner. The problem with that is that if you don't wash it with shampoo it creates dandruff and it starts to itch more. Not using conditioner also makes it look more dry and difficult to comb.

I have been looking some beard shampoos and conditioners but I don't want to spend a lot of money in hair saloon products that are more expensive. I have been looking in supermarkets to try those first.

I have thought about using hair shampoo on the beard and look if it at least eliminates the dandruff. I have heard that you have to use a specific shampoo for the beard because the pH of the head and the face are different or something like that a hairdresser once told me.

What do you think about this?
Do you use specific shampoo and conditioner for your beard?

I just use face wash, I can't imagine how anyone could get beard dandruff, how fucked up is your skin?

Anyway it's irrelevant now because beards are for cops, incels, and right wing microdick "trad evropa" types. Fashion-conscious places have switched back to idealizing a more androgynous form. I shave 3-4x a week now, rarely let my beard grow more than 2 weeks before shaving.

Don't shampoo or condition your beard. Buy a beard oil with no fragrance, jack black brand is good. also stop touching your face

It's probably not dandruff, it's probably just dry skin because you're not moisturising (or possibly even washing) the skin underneath your beard. Before getting some shampoo just wash it when you wash your face, then as others have said use a beard oil for conditioning. Make sure you rub it in to the skin underneath as well. Do that for a month or two and see how you go

Why is it bad to use beard shampoos and conditioners? And what do you mean with stop touching my face, why?

So there are basically 3 types of products to take care of your beard: shampoo, conditioner and oil.

shampoo will strip all natural oils, and then most - if not all supermarket conditioners will deposit shit that your beard doesnt need. this shit in turn irritates your face and can then irritate your skin making it itch more, and flake off looking like dandruff. scratching your face will inflame the skin making problems worse. that and its good hygiene to stop touching your face to begin with. use a regular face wash, and beard oil which is designed specifically for this purpose. the oil hydrates the skin and the hair solving the issue.

I've never used anything on my beard, just occasionally might shampoo it in the shower.

I have a longish beard and my beard hairs are thick and coarse.
For shampoo I use an artisan beard shampoo bar that some local makes. Better than anything storebought I've tried.
I use conditioner about once per week if my beard gets too dry or unruly.
But the most important thing is the beard oil. Apply a few drops after showering wile the beard is still a bit damp. It'll hydrate the skin and soften the hair so you can comb without breaking hairs. It will get rid of itching and flakes caused by dry skin.
I'd say the shampoo and conditioner are optional but the oil is a must if you're experiencing these issues.

I'm tired of a beard and I'm tired of a solo big stache. What's the next most presentable style? I'm playing around with some sort of van dyke stubble like pic related. I keep a short buzz due to balding cope
