Neither. Parfumo is a creative writing exercise filled with noselets. Some discussions on their forums can be good, but you gotta filter out the 90% of clueless trash that fills up the threads with background noise. Fragrantica is a fragrance sales website which suppresses negative reviews. Basenotes is probably the only useful website with both reviews and a forum. Way better than the rest of them because there are no upvote/downvote systems in place, so people just write like they do on here (to get a (You) at worst).

fragrantica, once you filter out the clueless retards, you get normal people with normal noses and likings reviewing frags, not snob wankers like on soinotes or parfumo, where everyone is writing autistic 3 pages cringe poems about frags without even mentioning the performance. You also get more votes and reviews on fragrantica, if everyone says a frag is good it most probably is, and viceversa.

Parfumo is great to buy/sell frags though.
>>17499847
You only have frags for colder seasons, so something fresh for hotter days. ADG edt, D&G light blue forever, Missoni Wave, Dunhill Icon Acqua Di Parma colonia esseza, Bergamotto di Calabria or Fico di Amalfi are all great blue citrusy fresh frags for spring/summer, can't go wrong with any of them.

I have no facts to back this up but 2 things, because I had similar issues when I first got aventus:
1. after some time passes, it will smell more concentrated. I'm not sure if this is "maceration" or maybe the liquid isn't as homogenous (in other words, more water concentrated at the bottom initially). another thing: try and avoid spraying in front of your neck, in my experience it can help avoid noseblindness

tried a couple fragrances at the mall yesterday

Tom Ford Noir Extreme, overrated fruity crap that smells boring, go with regular noir its better

tom ford ombre leather, great smell but im sure you could find a more interesting leather frag for half the price

tobacco vanille, way too sweet and just smells sloppy

tobacco oud is more interesting, just not for me but i can see people liking it

MFK Baccarat Rouge 540 quite literally smells like sugar water and thats it, might as well not wear a frag in the first place

MFK Oud Satin Mood is a lot better, but not all too interesting either

Parfum De Marley Herod is not bad, very strong and a bit too spicy for my liking, not worth the price imho

Parfum De Marley Delina Exclusif is great, probably getting a bottle for my girlfriend down the line. Very girly with lots of rose but not overwhelming

Amouage Opus XIV Royal Tobacco is very strong, lots of tobacco and very smoky but also very interesting

Am i a noselet bros? Is Tom Ford really that bad? I was so excited to try his fragrances but every single one i tried so far is just cheap smelling, boring crap that doesnt feel balanced whatsoever.

That's retarded, they are too similar in the opening and the dry out is only creamier in Aramis, nobody will get the difference unless they are smelling directly into your chest skin and such person knows both.
Antaeus seems higher quality but the differences are minimum, at least today.
>Chypre
I see, thank you, i knew the oakmoss part but not bergamot and labda. Funny, i thought Azzaro was too close to Antaeus, they smell kinda different but in the same realm, so i find confusing Fahrenheit and Cool Water being in the same bag as Azzaro but Anta/Kouros are something else.
>Boss #1
Heavily inspired in Antaeus but not as bright, a bit more powdery. Serves kinda as a bridge between Anta and Azza. Got a vintage bottle, feel like it's the lesser brother of Anta and Aramis but its performance is very good.

I had a small bottle of TdH but I'm a basic bitch and the ditry orange scent was too much for me. It was a 2015 batch I think which performed for 12h on 1 spray so maybe a recent batch would be more easy going. I was planning to try their Vetiver as well.

ELDO - You Or Someone Like You is my dumb reach frag. Realistic fresh mint is inoffensive to others, but the scent is also kinda bold and weird if you stick your face in it, and it's decently strong and long lasting.
If you have a Chanel store near you, try Egoiste. It's pretty sweet, but there's a woody aspect, and it's kinda sickly too. I wonder myself if I think it smells gross but it's more like a saliva-y quality that keeps it from smelling only like wood candy.

Despite what the contrarians here will say most of their more popular fragrances are very wearable while still being at least a bit unique. Yes, there are tons of clones now but still you can't just stop by a sephora a come out with something that smells like Carlisle, Layton, MI, Aventus or Naxos. If you have a Notino store nearby maybe you can get some Armafs.

And as for the price this is true for every industry - after certain threshold you pay more and more for incremental increases in quality.

But I tried a lot of fragrances by them, and yes, they are extremely wearable and safe fragrances, they don't really offer something unique or of extreme quality for the price. Modern Le Male really is a massacred version of what it used to be. They just couldn't deal with losing the amount of coumarin they used to be able to put in it before 2014.

>>17502162
They are refined crowdpleasers. You take a popular scent DNA and then put in some additional hours to get something which smells just a tiny bit better than the original, at the cost of using additional materials. Sometimes you smell something and it just smells like quality, just pleasing and balanced to the nose. This is what they aim to create on the backbone of stuff that is already well-liked. It's intentionally not "niche", but tricks the non-fragheads into thinking they aren't getting ripped off. That and marketing, obviously.

>>17502415
If what that one anon somewhere up there said about the new Y flanker is true, check out the Y EdP Intense. Code Le Parfum is the most boring flanker to Code they could have imagined and they killed both Code Profumo and Code Absolu for it (the former would have been my rec for an NPC frag). DH2020 is not worth it in my opinion. Iso-E super can be perceived as weird by others, so there's a chance you smell bad to people.

There's a lot of iso E in DH2020 but also a lot of cashmeran and more conventional woods, I don't think DH2020 can smell bad to anyone, it's THE inoffensive frag. I was honestly comparing them in my mind.

Joop at the store smelled like some sort of candy. On me it goes phases, but it settles on a fabric softener scent which is inoffensive and generally nice. I like how it smells on clothes, but it's just a nice-that-its-there scent, nothing more.

I also didn't understand how people compared it to Montblanc Individuel from smelling on strips, but wearing them both you see that they settle at a similar spot.

Drakkar Noir, I'm fairly certain it's the moss note, but it's disgusting to me. I wore it all day today spraying 10 times to get used to it, and I can ignore it once I get used to it, but it's not something that I would ever buy again to wear.
I guess I'll have 200 ml as a reference forever.

What shocks me is how bad performance is for both of these despite being supposed performance beasts in the past. They both entirely fade a couple of hours later, and they're skin scents within the hour, even at 10 sprays.
Quite crazy.

Meanwhile, I spray my Stronger with You clone just once and it sticks around for hours literally.

That's one fucking sexy fragrance, I want to fuck me just smelling myself.
