Every one of these niggas looks goofy as hell, but some more than others. Guy on the far left looks like the type of person that likes to light things on fire or hit animals. The guy with checks looks like he's wearing pajamas with football pads underneath, and has a very untrustworthy and unsettling face. The negro looks as if he is about to cry and appears very inauthentic, not a thought going on in his head as he stares into space. The guy to the right of him looks like he is an emotionally immature robot with no soul. Guy to the right of him looks the best in the pic but looks like hes addicted to smoking cigs and has dead eyes. Guy on the far right seems like he would talk in a really unexpected high pitched voice and with a lisp. I've met a few people with his phenotype and that's how they sound. if you have real winters then parkas are fine.
i've seen plenty of down puffer vests under jackets as well.

Where do I get a vest like this?

No idea. Only advice I could give ya is checking local shops for something similar or have a tailor make it custom.

Just to show, I found pretty similar vests from a local tailor and I'm sure they could do one custom as well.

Is THAT what it's fucking called? I've been trying to find more shirts that have that ever since I picked up a military shirt at a thrift store which had one, but I could never find the term.

What kind of outerwear would go well with a suit like this? I've been trying to find a nice-quality trench coat but it's hard to find one in a color I think would go well with it.

How much should I be looking at for a made-to-measure dress shirt? I want some sort of frame of reference so I can tell when I'm being ripped off vs. when something's a good deal.
Also, how many would the average person need? Three? And which fabrics are the best for them? I enjoy Oxford, but I've heard it's less formal.

I don't think you should start with made to measure shirts if you're that early into shirts.
Because made to measure, while it will be higher quality, it is more expensive.
Instead you should experiment with all the various styles, ie striped, blue, cream, checked, button down, spread collar, various fabrics/weights, etc. with much cheaper shirts to learn what you like, and then buy a made to measure one.

I wear a Cos parka sometimes but I don't have a high class job where you follow etiquette like that. Generally, parks are associated with children. Menswear is a trench coat and fedora though you will be called a larper for that on here.

As far as the early to mid 20th century, a driving coat. Something that covers the jacket and your ass at least. Outerwear isn't really judged in contrast as long as it looks good in principle and doesn't clash with the suit while open. Some shitty zip coat looks worse all around.

I’m not sure the name of the material (perhaps Gabardine?) but this is typically what a raincoat looked like in the 1920s and 30s. The pith helmet might be a bit much.

This is probably solid advice, thanks anon. I've worn dress shirts before, but it's always been hard to find one off the rack that I feel fits me (usually there's too much fabric at the waist, and the armholes feel like they're way too deep-cut and make it feel like there's too much extra fabric there too). I guess I figured that going straight to something that would fit, for certain, would be a good idea.

I'll look into trying out some other things before I jump off that deep end, though. Thanks, anon. If you've got any other advice, I'd be glad to hear it.

in that case maybe it would be fine to buy the most bog standard dress shirt you can think of, like a plain white shirt from the made to measure place. Because even if you're not too into plain white shirts, it's always good to have.
And then, knowing what a good shirt feels like, you can still experiment with cheaper shirts in other styles and say to yourself "okay it's not as comfortable, but I really like this pattern, I'll get this made to measure one day" or "oh wow I thought I would like this colour of shirt, but it looks horrible on me, good thing I didn't spend alot of money on it"
