Demeter fragrances blind buy.
2 keepers, 2 for birthday gifts, and 5 that won't be used much - if at all. Will not be buying any of these again. I sampled these all last night. Took a long shower afterwards. My nose was burning and I had a headache.
Listed from best to worst:

>Amber
sweet and spicy, creamy, earthy, warm.
vanilla, dry woods, incense, spices, some very light citrus - i think its orange

>Pineapple
pineapple juice. sweet and syrupy
its really strong.

>Cedar
old dusty cedar boards. something lemony and bitter, a little earthy

>Hawaiian Vanilla
sweet vanilla with a hint of coconut
suntan lotion or a 'tropical' scented body cream

>Pipe Tobacco
sweet and spicy, woody, smokey. its definitely pipe tobacco. becomes dryer and ashier over time
theres a very faint metallic cherry scent that you get with almond extract

>Pistachio Ice Cream
pistachio ice cream, pistachio pudding, pistachio cookies

>Sandalwood
sweet, soapy, powdery sandalwood
smells like an air freshener

>Pink Grapefruit
bitter grapefruit peels, soapy, medicinal
'citrus' scented cleaning solution

>Russian Leather
dirty leather couch, old books, and an ash tray

unfortunate. i wonder if the zippo one is better.
to be more specific with this one, i think the projection is rather weak, not that it doesn't last long. it's just a skin scent rather quick. but i'll give it a full wear tomorrow and then form more thoughts. unfortunately it was wrapped in plastic so i can't really make it look unopened

There are like 3 good/acceptable clones out there. All other ones are mid. Dakar is only because it manages to bring the old DN back, not because it "improves" it. They just made DN worse. Try spraying it on clothes. I had some luck with a few fragrances which traded a bit of their projection in order to project longer. Like half the projection but at twice the duration compared to spraying on skin.

There are molecules which are perceived differently by different people, and I guess that might apply for sandalwood fragrances to you. For me, it's some kind of "amber" chemical found in e.g. Jazz Club, Costume National Homme, Le Beau and Le Beau Le Parfum, Oud Malaki, Amyris Homme Extrait and many others. It's a modern synthetic molecule and my nose perceives it as smelling like the juice at the bottom of a trash bin. Unwearable fragrances.
Molecule 01 is another one and iso-e super in general as well, same with frags like Santal 33 and other santals, which are dill/pickles to some but not others.

Getting to test frags is becoming much more rare by the day, especially in markets where no department store will open a box of some niche juice with only 3 boxes on stock in the entire state.
Also decanters and samplers are expensive for some odd reason, the moment some company starts selling samplers for cheap at wide scale at the store is the moment they will get more orders because nobody will buy a 200 dollar bottle without knowing what geranium smells like.
That's why Coty made a lot of dough at some point, apart from being cheap shit they also handed out promos and samples of their shit very often.

I swipe on younger girls too but no matches under 32 so far.
So I'm guessing that's the issue for you. It's a lot tougher to get attention of women who can literally get millionaires to fly them out just on account of their youth, which is every not ugly not fat girl in her 20s.

If I were you, I'd to meet girls in real life instead.

SOTmorning, one of if not the only scents with alpine spikenard, the speick plant that the company is named for. Its a very fresh citrus scent that kind of smells like lemon pledge, or 4711 with a twist.

> Elegant freshness. Speick Men Eau de Toilette is a uniquely energising and well-balanced scent. Contemporary, masculine and invigorating, the characteristic top note of unique Speick extract is what makes this fragrance so incomparably charismatic. Refreshing notes of lemon grass and petitgrain oil emit a sanguine lightness at the heart of the fragrance while patchouli oil completes the sophisticated composition with a delicately spiced base note. With the unique extract of the high alpine Speick plant from biologically regulated wild harvesting (kbW).

I recommend it for feeling fresh and awake. It only lasts an hour or two, suitable for a $35 freshie.

or
you've been relying on massive income disparity (going to Moldova or Thailand and getting a "girlfriend" there) which is no different than prostitution except easier on the ego and sometimes harder on the wallet.

But just from looking around the real world, girls in their 20s don't generally hook up with guys in their 40s. It happens so rarely that I've seen more obese guys with hot 20 year old than I've seen 40 year old guys with 20 year old girls. I've also done Tinder experiments and from what I can tell most girls in their 20s won't even see profiles of guys in their 40s.

So yeah, (x) doubt

"Now the reformulation part. Looking back at all the EU and IFRA restriction updates, and checking against the ingredients list of Chic old & new packaging, we can try to make some conclusions. 2 key perfumery ingredients, Lilial and Lyral were banned in 2021, and formulas had to be gradually adjusted up until the cut off date. Known as the most common lily of the valley ingredients, these 2 were 10 times more important than oakmoss. People will cry over oakmoss but only a minority knows the impact of Lilial/Lyral ban on perfumery.
I can assure you that, regardless of men/women, designer/niche, wherever you pick a scent, there's a good chance they featured either or both originally. And they were already marked as mandatory as labeling requirements so it is easy to just check ingredients list of old packages vs today, you will notice 2 items missing from the old ones:

Lilial's chemical name: Butylphenyl methylpropional
Lyral's chemical name: Hydroxyisohexyl 3-cyclohexene carboxaldehyde

Lyral was the first one cut-off. For a short period, certain batches still mention Lilial. Then it's gone too.

In fact, no real substitutes discovered yet even though a lot of great muguet materials out there, especially Lyral, is still irreplaceable, perhaps not in terms of scent but in terms of longevity, its effect on the entire blend, fixative properties etc.)

Today, we see Chic's ingredient list is featuring Hydroxycitronellal, one of the oldest and another very common muguet material. It's safe to assume that it is not the only one, pretty sure there's other varieties added to try to close the huge gap of Lyral/Lilial, but we can't see it because not every muguet material is mandatory for labeling. We can also see Hexyl Cinnamal (an oily waxy spicy-fruity jasmine ingredient) is added into the mix. Again, this could be that at previous times labeling requirements were different, so I'm just trying to draw conclusions without being 100% sure."

Listen anon, if you’re even half as insecure and anxious as you describe, I don’t know what the hell you hope to get out of wearing a fragrance. Literally the entire goal of this shit, the ideal result, is to get people complimenting and chatting with you because of how good you smell. It’s a target you put on yourself intentionally — if you’re not amenable to that or lack the confidence to follow through, you’ll just be a nuisance invading other people’s senses.

I recommend you insert yourself into more social situations, events and clubs that interest you. Exposure is the only therapy here. Once you can finally stand in a room full of people and not feel like an alien, then look into having that perfumer make you something custom and fun.

>dog shelter
>community activities (ex. gardening, soup kitchens)
>yoga class
>martial art class
>starting a terrible band
>book club
We had two people with crippling anxiety and depression blossom into sociable individuals in our choir

I seriously fucking hate zoomers, I hate you mindbroken by smartphones, socially crippled subhuman generation. You are literally the worst generation to ever exist

I'm 41. At a best guess I was socially crippled by peer rejection way before even the internet was common.

My fiancee and I are planning our wedding, and fragrances to wear for the day is a subject that's come up. It's hard to land on a pair that's complementary, understated and classy. So far we're thinking Bo for me and Rose Struck for her - leaning for natural woody/floral accords. Any recommendations?

It would be Chypre Palatin for me. I have never bothered thinking about a matching pair for it.

this is probably why a lot of really obviously good selling frags are discontinued or are really sparsely found, I doubt most frag houses would bother reformulating most of their lines just to fit ifra regulations

No. Marriage is the dumbest idea for 2023. Better save cash to buy the dip.

Neroli portofino just smells like 4711. Tom ford has to be the most overpriced shit brand in the fragrance game

cope, it's wasted money in 2023. Not buying Dakar equals being a coping polface chud screaming about muh the west muh tradition muh sandniggers

I have Dakar, so I don't need to cope. Drakkar Noir still smells good.

Hello /fa/shists, I have a quick question, for you experts out there. So I went window shopping, and after that I went to test out perfumes, really liked versache eros or versache in general was nice, ck mankind legacy smelt like something fresh and inoffensive, sauvage was alright I guess, rochas moustache was not bad. Anyway, theese I didn't hate, the rest were quite shit. What are your opinions on these perfumes, which is the best or the most worth, and what can you reccomend, dear /fa/chists?

It smells basic af imo, like any run of the mill body wash scent. Probably because they all copied drakkar after it came out. It might’ve been good in the past but I doubt anyone would even notice you’re wearing a scent if you put it on now.
