I wanna larp like I'm 18/19 again and go back and experience everything I missed out on... what age is too old to follow trendy youth subcultures?
Stuff like goofing off at the skatepark with frens, starting a band, getting a qt art hoe gf, drinking/weed seshes etc
Oldest example I can think of is Gerard Way/Ray Toro being 25 when MCR started, some of the grunge guys (Eddie Vedder, Kim Thayil, Dead DeLeo) were late 20s/early 30s when they got big but IMHO they always presented themselves as fully fledged adults as opposed to youths

Perfect age for all of this. There is no cut off for having a good time; it's just that what constitutes a good time changes as you age. Stop making excuses and being a fucking pussy, anon. I'm 28 and felt like I stagnated or even declined socially in the last few years, both before and during covid, but as of this autumn I'm back in the social/dating game with other 20-somethings.

That's the biggest lie teenagers and people in their early 20s tell themselves; that life somehow ends or enters this long boring phase the second you're no longer a certain age. It doesn't; it just keeps going the same way as before. It'll change, of course, but that depends more on what you decide to do. My oldest friends are in their mid 30s and youngest in their early 20s; you'll realise age doesn't matter nearly as much as you thought after 22.

At 22 I look and feel much better than I did at 16-18 and my life is so much better in every way, yet I still find myself mourning the loss of opportunities to improve my life that came with ageing

For most people, the problem is just:
>i like skateboard, then i will skate.
It's not:
>i like skate board but am i allowed to skate? What will people think? I'm 20. What is the brand i should wear. Am i allowed to wear red? Am i allowed to just go to a skate park? What will people think. Let's ask a korean abortion enthusiasts board what they think about it. I am 20. Am i allowed to skate even? Will people think i'm a nonce hanging out with 15 year old skaters? What if i skate and then they say i can't skate? I always wanted to. But i'm 20. Is it too late??? Maybe, maybe not.

You people are autistic indeed and it's sad.

If you didn't do this then, what makes you think you can be an autist pretender and do it now? To those people, the reason why they were so cool to begin with is because this is natural to them. To some people, their prevailing lifestyle coexists with past traumatic experience or a horrible upbringing and as such, an alternative lifestyle is befitting for them. If your life wasn't as horrible as theirs, why should you pretend yours is the same way? You're just a wannabe. Like those people who used to buy Supermeme merch and pretend like they're part of the hypebeast scene (theyre not). Just give it up already.

As far as youth subculture, that's exactly how it sounds- for the youth. If you're a man and you're nearing age 25, you should have better priorities in life right now than pretending to be a rebel. Ideally men have unlimited time to pursue these things while women have truly until age 25- they're more restricted compared to men.

>sheltered needs base kid that never learnt to leave his comfort zone and all that
this is your issue. You don't have to do degenerate lifestyle to achieve self-actualization. Different people achieve self-actualization in different ways. If you need to find self-fulfillment in lifestyle and mindset, find it in your own manner- not by emulating others. Find your own niche. Seek more of what you're good at. If its women and the pleasure you're after, you can still do that as a man well into your 30's and even 40's. Like I mentioned, it is a mindset- you just want to feel like you are enjoying life to its fullest, and you can still do that. But you don't have to follow others- especially the lifestyle of those who have had a horrible life. Don't pretend, because people can see right through you. Its easy to see who had the same backround as me and who is just pretending we bully the fuck out of you.

I deffo need to start measuring life more by my metrics than by other peoples though. I mean, what's the fucking difference between 23 and 18? What about 30 and 25? There isn't, I'm just being a little bitch. There's no reason why I can't go out and make life happen the way I want it to

You're never too old to have fun. Now age does come into play with some physical activities -like I wouldn't recommend starting catch wrestling at 60. But if you feel like you need permission to do something you love from some anonymous gatekeepers, then that's your loss.

>22
You're barely out of adolescence.

>> No.17464592

>There's no reason why I can't go out and make life happen the way I want it to
exactly. Part of growing up is realizing you had the capability to shape your life and your body in your own methods the way you see fit. No one can really tell you otherwise and there is no one else to blame but yourself. Some people realize this sooner than others and its understandable the regret you might feel not knowing earlier. Yes, you truly can change your life around for the better if you put in a little work. Yes, you can make all the friends and be successful in networking if you take care of certain categories in life. Yes, you can live a life of creativity and color if you so desire.

The difference between you and those "skaters" you mentioned is that those people actively work and seek that kind of lifestyle. They don't just dream or lust about it- they are out there everyday trying to get it. Even if their lives are so miserable compared to you.

>a bout of mental illness starting when I was 17 left me too anxious to deal with people
dont start. You don't have a mental illness, you just haven't learned the information you require or no one bothered to slap you upside the head and tell you the truth about the world.

you can do all those things except skate boarding. im pretty sure youve never skated before so it isnt worth picking up. the main demographic for skating is young punks who are in middle school and high school. you are in neither. it would be a different story if you were good at skating but took a break during college and now want to get back into it. instead, youll be a 22/23 y/o who cant even do an ollie. there is nothing cool about that, which i assume is your motive for everything, being cool. the only thing of value who can provide is buying alcohol for the high schoolers assuming there isnt some other good 21+ y/o skater who isnt already doing that.

So don't worry – it can always be worse, and in our situations we just have to carry on and not worry about what other people think of us. Hop on fin and tret and do " ' "young people things" ' " until you don't want to anymore.
