17456107 No.17456107 [Reply] [Original]

A Rolex watch must work perfectly and maintain its beauty even in the harshest environments. That is why Rolex uses Oystersteel, a steel alloy specific to the brand. Oystersteel belongs to the 904L steel family, which is particularly resistant to corrosion and acquires an exceptional sheen when polished with cum.

I dig my Tissot, the quality it's not the same as the prx as it doesn't feel as nice, but it's accurate and I like the yellow hands, it's also pretty light and I might change the strap later for a brown leather one. Do you plan on getting more watches or are you leaving it like that? >>17456402
Steel models (especially brushed) like the Explorer don’t really scratch that much.

Even on the polished bezel it’s got barely noticeable hairline marks after 6 months of wear. Gold will get scratched to fuck though.

What’s the point of owning a nice watch if you don’t wear it?

>> No.17456438

>>17456421
The only 3 Rolexes I have are steel models, even if they brush up against something they’ll get scratched for whatever the fuck reason. It’s not a deep scratch, just superficial on the finish. Even though it’s more a brushed finish, they’re still pretty noticeable.

I don’t have any wear on my bezels though since they’re ceramic rather than polished steel like yours. Bezel still looks as good as new and they’re about 3 years old. I know the older watches had an issue with the bezel turning to shit since it was like a painted metal iirc

A final sermon before I leave for worship:

This is my bread. There are many like it, but this one is mine.
My bread is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life.
Without me, my bread is useless. Without my bread, I am useless. I must toast my bread true. I must toast crispier than my enemy who is trying to toast me. I must toast him before he toasts me. I will …
My bread and I know that what counts in war is not the butter that’s spread, the noise of our toaster, nor the smoke we make. We know that it is the ding that count. We will ding…
My bread is human, even as I, because it is my life. Thus, I will learn it as a brother. I will learn its weaknesses, its strength, its parts, its accessories, its crust. I will keep my bread clean and ready, even as I am clean and ready. We will become part of each other. We will …
Before God, I swear this creed. My bread and I are the defenders of my country. We are the masters of our enemy. We are the saviors of my life.
So be it, until victory is America’s and there is no enemy, but peace!

What about it makes it a girls watch? It's just a rectangular watch. Unisex in fact. You can't say "because it's small", bc then all watches pre-1990 would be girl watches. Even more so in the case of the Tank, where the particular aesthetic it strives for is to sit like a post stamp on your wrist, and you can see how if fails with the larger versions.
If anything, watches are too big now and the current trend is slowly going smaller.

You're not inventing the wheel here, rectangular dress watches have been a thing since the beginning of wrist watches and will continue to be so in the future. Can someone explain why moonphase watches are even a thing? I've never randomly thought "I wonder what phase the moon is currently in but I cannot be bothered to go outside at night to look at it"

Is it just the Swiss being autistic in making an unnecessary complication?

Timing your girl's period.

>In a related study, an investigation of long-term menstrual cycle records maintained by 22 women shows that women with cycles lasting longer than 27 days intermittently synchronized with moon phase cycles and the moon's gravitational pull. This synchrony was lost as women aged and when they were exposed to artificial light at night.
>The researchers hypothesized that human reproductive behavior may have been synchronous with the moon during ancient times, but that this changed as modern lifestyles emerged and humans increasingly gained exposure to artificial light at night.

Just saw the white birch with metal bracelet in person and it's ugly as hell. I don't know how it would look with a leather strap, but they generally look much better on GS than bracelets.
It's interesting how much a watch can change in person. The moonwatch for example is very underwhelming compared to pictures. The skyflake is beautiful.
