I don't have a blue-faced watch, heard some solid things about Seiko 5's and they seem like a decent price just above $100. I think i've narrowed it down to these three pic related.
>SNKL43
>SNXS77
>SNKK11J1
Best I can tell is they're the same movement, slightly different case. Not sure why 1 says 21 jewels and the others don't, but I think 2 are made in Malaysia and the last made in japan. A similar royal blue made in Japan jumps the price by $75 or $200 for some reason. Presages are nice but I don't think I'm ready to spend $300+ on a watch yet. When I do it'll be a $650+ Hamilton, or whatever. I just don't like spending big money like that.

Is there something else I can consider that is similar to these 3? I have enough black and white face watches, I like the plain look and wish these didn't have the minute indices but again, finding something similar without the tiny items I don't like jumps the price several hundred. I'm not certain about the blue and gold either, they go well together but that thick bezel and slightly larger case bothers me. I wish there were more 35-37mm watches. Not the biggest fan of sunburst outside of very vintage watches because they just did watch faces better decades ago.

I wouldn't mind an attractive design or pattern, but I generally like 'plain' and under $150 for an automatic for daily to semi-dressy. I don't want it to look out of place if I'm just feeling fancy that day and wear it to the bar, but it should also look fine if I put on a suit or T-shirt just the same.

I was thinking about that this morning; instead of buying a $125 watch today, and another $125 watch later this year, I should just buy the $350 watch later this year because of how similar and somewhat unremarkable my current watches are.

I assume a $600 watch today doesn't hold any value like luxury watches in the 50s did? No I'm not worried about resale value because if I buy it I want it to make me happy not because its an investment or storage of wealth, I just wanna know?

If you only need a watch to tell the time or for the looks. No point in buying mechanical.
>Enthusiast & Quasi-Luxury
You think it's cool to have a mechanical watch with some history behind the brand, but you don't care enough about microscopic finishing to justify spending thousands.
>Entry-level luxury
This is truly no-man's land. If you are someone from the former category, you can't justify spending the extra money on these brands for their small improvements. If you are an enthusiast who really cares about finishing, these brands won't make the cut, so you better save up and not be a coper.
>Luxury to Ultra luxury
This is for the watchmaking enthusiast, and it all comes down to how much you can afford to spend.

No shame in being in any category. I myself think finishing and craftsmanship is cool, but don't care for it enough to justify spending thousands even if I could with my IT salary. A Hamilton is good enough for me. And I feel like that's the case for many autists here who lie themselves into thinking they care, when they're really just feeding their autism by endlessly comparing watches.

Looking for something to replace my Braun as an everyday work watch. Sadly, the build quality of these is pretty poor, I really like the look of it and I'd like to find something similar though.

Not really looking to spend a lot of money on it, around $150 would be my limit. I work with my hands on a daily basis, so it's going to get scratched and beaten up anyway. I would just like something a little classier than my plastic Casio.

Much easier to use than pressing timer buttons on an oven or microwave or checking your phone, plus you can fuck off and do other things far away from the kitchen. I think the bread bros are trying to make a statement and aren’t just merely trolling for the sake of it all of the time. There have been hints that they view this board and the elitism of watch enthusiasm as pretentious and worthy of mockery. Also is it better to buy on r/watchexchange or chrono24? Chrono24 has tax and reddit doesn't (although that's technically fraud probably) but you're guaranteed authentic and have a return policy, but my one r/watchexchange purchase turned out well. Looking at a speedmaster
