You can use pomade or breylcream but that's really heavy and can be greasy. With breyl cream you also have to really work it in or else it or will be white. What I prefer is "Reuzel" grooming tonic, which is a liquid.

You run it through wet hair then comb and blowdry it. You can put a comb in front of your blow-dryer so it won't be too strong. This then hardens it up and will give it a nice hold that isn't too stiff or gunky. Also doesn't make me break out at my hairline which the other stuff does
