Some of you might remember me posting a lot of casio shitters that I bought for cheap. With school easing up I dug into my junk drawer and found one that interested me from the start
It came on a broken bracelet so I slapped it onto the only band I have that fits it and it doesn't look half bad IMO, though I think smooth leather might be the better choice here and a different style instead of this vintage look. What really has me curious about this watch is that I have 4 phone numbers of Japanese women in it and I feel like I have to call them. Entry 1 is Misako, entry 2 is Nagako, 3 is Namie, and 4 is Sachie. I would post their phone numbers on here but I fear I would get banned for doxing.

I think it's over emphasised just how smart dress watches are, they certainly appropriate for a suit but wearing one with a polo shirt isn't going to be like wearing a bow tie with a tank top.

If you think about it, a dress watch is just metal and leather so it's going to match your belt or your shoes or perhaps the metal matches your sunglasses, they're not usual materials for casual clothing and the dial is for the owners eyes only so don't even worry about that.

Again, size is likely to be a problem. If you're making a 45mm Planet Ocean look adequately proportioned then you're going to dwarf a 35mm dress watch and it's likely going to look like a watch for a woman. Patricians will know what's up, but will everyone else?

Yeah man, you understand from your own experiences too and I agree with everything you said. The issue is not the formality of the dress watch outside of work, it is the sizing. I will just have to live with my skydweller being my dress watch then. I might just trade in my Tudor for a calibre 11 Monaco or a blancpain and call it a 3 watch collection with no actual dress watch.

What's the least amount of money you can expect to spend for a flawless watch? This argument sucks. The assailant has already made the public declaration that he values $30 in goods over my health and safety, with the implication that if I do not hand over the object of perceived value that the consequences will be violence. It isn't about the $30 object of value, it's about having someone threaten violence against you. When coupled with a gun or otherwise lethal weapon, the implication is that your life is worth less than the target property. The victim's response in kind is something that the assailant does not expect, but is proportional as the victim is responding that they value their health and safety over the health and safety of the assailant.
That said, I still wouldn't wear a fancy watch in the hood.

Spaniard here. The AD was bullshitting you or a retard, maybe both. A few years ago the spanish government decided to get tough on tx evasion and all the black money in the economy. Since a lot of people launder money by buying luxury goods in cash, they began to hold business accountable for that. The response was that a lot of business established some limits to how much you can pay in cash for luxury goods. The document you signed was just a ploy to get you registered, in case you're wanted for tax evasion, money laundering, etc.

Thanks, Spanon! That's the kind of setup that could fuck me up. My passport is from a country with a reputation for money laundering. I was going to wait 5 days to pull the cash out then go back into the AD, but then I thought - what if that signed document is sitting on some waggie cops's desk/inbox, and they decide to question me when I come in to make the final payment... I went into the AD today and made the payment on my card, and I was watching those fuckers. If one of them picked up the phone I was going to bolt and walk away from the deposit. I'm not going to get stuck trying to find a Spanish lawyer from inside the joint.
