Wanting some Chad American clothes. Just bought this jacket, pic related. What are some other good quality American western wear brands to check out? I’ve got some denim jackets and picked up a Scully leather jacket in Arizona. What are the best actual cowboy boots that aren’t shit? Plenty of cheap workwear shit out there, I used to be a ranch hand and ran trail riding. Now I’m a lawyer and can afford to be a Chad, but don’t want to buy gay European designer clothes. What are the best American western clothes?

Bro you are probably some limp wristed zoomer twink femboi larping as some salt of the earth trucker. Everybody on this board seems to have to have some sort of comment to make whenever western/workwear is mentioned, posturing oneself as if they're some tough motherfucker who has eArNeD tHe vAlOr to be able to make such comments. Just post your skinny femboi body and accept that you're a faggot. Like jesus, who actually gives a fuck if lawyers ride motorcycles?

Obviously Pendleton is a pretty good middle of the road brand for flannels and native-pattern jackets. For boots check out Wesco and Whites. Not sure if it's your cup of tea, but a lot of Japanese clothing companies do an immaculate job at making some traditional americana and workwear pieces of clothing, obviously Iron Heart being one of them

If you want clothing that legitimately is made with the highest level attention paid to structural integrity and overall quality of materials used, Iron Heart and Whites are great examples of that and generally exist right at the entrance of the point of diminishing returns. Also, I bet you're some seething poor who secretly is jealous of anyone who can afford high quality clothing and has to cope by making up stories in your head about others who can afford it

Filson is the quintessential larper attire. Most of their clothing construction is outsourced to Sri Lanka or SE Asia and has overall been cutting corners in terms of quality of materials and build. Because of this, their clothes are the farthest thing from being actual "workwear" and they are retardedly overpriced for what you actually buy. I work as a geotechnical engineer and had bought a pair of their canvas utility pants for my regular field work. After a year, I found out the stitching along the inseam was absolute dogshit because my pant leg ripped in half while working one day in the summer. My pair of carhartts lasted twice as long and only cost about half the price of what Filson charges. If you want to buy Filson just for casual wear around your home or to just go to dinner I suppose that's one thing, but they really fell off the deep end the last few years

I also just got this Scully boar suede jacket, pic related, that’s a brand worth checking out. That’s more what I’m looking for— American western wear that’s good quality and not insanely overpriced. Shit you can be rough and still last a long time. The Japanese stuff is cool but more fashion oriented, filson is cool but really overpriced since Bedrock took over. I got the Pendleton because it’s 100% wool with real shearling. I wonder if the Overland shearling jackets are worth it or not.

It's hilarious to me with Western stuff, urbanite faggots who don't wear it gatekeep the absolute fuck out of it while actual country people who do wear it don't give a fuck. Workwear is a bit of a different story though, I don't think anybody in a trade cares about somebody wearing a Carhartt jacket or whatever but a lot of "workwear" stuff seems to consist of total sois cosplaying a 1920s factory worker who just got a brand new outfit and that's a little ridiculous.

>> No.17438588

>>17438492
Exactly. All the people on this board gatekeeping western wear and even workwear are really just limp wristed urbanites who suddenly now speak as if they’ve earned the right to dictate what people can and cannot wear, which to me is the most cringe part of this whole western/workwear conversation. Actual blue collar people literally do not give a fuck if someone wears western or workwear, but only reasonably start to make fun of those people when they’re really just urbanites with an outfit that costs thousands of dollars.

There are a lot of companies that don't cut corners that charge relatively the same price as Filson. It's not even about larpers, its the fact that Filson sold the fuck out and because of that you're getting robbed when you buy from the majority of their catalog
