Thanks, the new one is an SKX013 clone. Pricing on the original ones went crazy since they were discontinued. I prefer the dial on the SNK809 except for its crappy lume but it will be nice not to have to care about getting it wet.

I went back and forth on the size versus the other larger divers like the SKX007 and I think I prefer it being a similar size to the SNK809. It's more out of the way.

It depends on the model of watch, but yes I think most of the older 5 series watches are rated at 3 atm. Some of the Seiko 5 Sports models like the SNZG series are rated 10atm and the newer "dive style" SRPD series are 10 atm as well.

Personally I think 3 atm is fine, can you really expect more from a ~$100 automatic watch?

They were invented for early 20th century aviation, meaning the cockpits were cold and windy and dark at night
So, they always used to have big cases with big digits, illuminated whatever, rotating bezels for quick time zone changes, and giant crowns so you could wind them with gloves on
Some of them "slide rule" markings for measuring wind speed but I don't know how that's actually supposed to work

Since we're all anonymous here I'll tell you, I've inherited about $200k over the years and put it all into VTSAX and lived poor while I continued investing every extra penny I could into it from work. The best thing in life for me is to just have a house which isn’t gf and I will pay off eventually and to have enough money to feasibly not have to ever worry about losing a job or having an unexpected but necessary expense.

We were together through high school and college. Unfortunately I never learned how to share my feelings when I was upset so instead of talking about small issues as they came up I let them pile up while I quietly seethed until one day it all came out at once when I finally blew everything up. I've since learned how to be a better man and partner through the relationships I've had since, but none of those girls were truly compatible with me like she was. She has since gotten married and had a kid, I wish her the best and am happy she's happy, but I will still love her for the rest of my life. I know those feels anon, my one that got away I still think about, I wasn’t man enough or ready personally to commit to her and she moved, found a new man, and built a great life. A good therapist will help you identify which problems you have, establish an strategy to tackle them and provide guidance during tge process. Bear in mind that the bulk of the job falls on you, that you'll fail and relapse and that it's up to you to get up again, shake the dust and keep going.
