Women have more power and more choice than ever. Back in the '90s a woman could choose between guys she'd happen to meet. In the current year, she can choose anyone in driving distance.

In fact a woman who is 42 now has more choice in men than she had when she was 18 in 1998. Sure she's significantly less attractive but her reach has increased a thousandfold.

And no, you can't make yourself one of the most attractive guys by going to the gym, and fuck you in case you were going to suggest it.

The former. When I wanna unwind on weekends I just turn my phone off and kick back playing my oldschool games or watching movies on VHS/DVD/Netflix (via PS3). And of course jamming to 80s-early 2000s music. I don't do it too often but it feels so good to zone out without pesky notifications or advertisements.
/fa/ wise I've always kept 90s inspiration in my outfits. Even during the 2010 peak skinny jeans era (and when 90s clothing was the most out-of-style it ever got) I just never stopped thinking Will Smith from the Fresh Prince was cool, y'know?

I'll take this moment to hate on Billy Corgan. After Zwan broke up, he put out a really shitty solo album called TheFutureEmbrace. I won a Myspace contest when he was touring for the album, two VIP backstage passes to go see him on the tour. So, I brought the president of my high school's rock and roll club, a qt that I wanted to impress. The show fucking sucked. I'm backstage at the afterparty, and here comes Billy. I walk up to him, stick out my hand, and say, "Hi, I'm Qnon, nice to meet you". At the time I am a HUGE Smashing Pumpkins fan, the kind that would defend Adore and Machina as their two best albums, who used to cover deep cuts like Set The Ray To Jerry with my own band.
Billy looks at my hand, then looks at the sticker on my shirt that says "Myspace Winner" and says "Oh. It's you." Then walked away. Humiliated me in front of my date and made me hate him and his music forever after that. Fucking prick

does it work like this:

>then i'll get pussy!

even if you are a hot dude fucking hot chicks today: women are objectively fatter, more narcissistic and less available than they were back then.

>so if you were as hot as you are now and you were back there - you'd be fucking hotter women with more options because people were healthier, physically and mentally
I think thanks to dating apps, the most attractive guys (face + height, forget muscles they don't do anything) are in the current times fucking more attractive women than they would have back before dating apps. back then they'd have been limited by women they actually encountered face to face. it's basically the inverse incel problem, incels have no chance because more competitive guys are just a few swipes away, and chads are that competition who's having it a lot easier now.

Don’t agree, I think even for attractive dudes dating apps are cancer, I get fuck loads of matches but it’s rare to actually like someone on them, most girls don’t even reply and I’m pretty attractive imo. Maybe for 11/10 gigachads but dating apps are just lose lose for men in general. Most women are only on there for validation and the really hot ones have so many in person options they probably don’t even have profiles or they never check them.
That’s what incels don’t really get, getting matches doesn’t even mean anything, even getting a first date barely means anything. Most girls on dating apps have so many options rolling in every second that it’s rare to even go on a second date imo. You’ve gotta either catch girls right as they join or really really click on the first date. Otherwise you’re just some free drinks no matter how hot you are

My experience is pretty different. I'm ugly and I get a couple of matches per week (I do only swipe on attractive girls) but like 90% reply and about half of them I went on a date with. When I use photos of some above average attractive guy, it's not even easy mode, it's tutorial level. That's why assume good looking guys are slaying.

Clerks was just a fundamentally 'one hit wonder' type movie. It was exceptional and profound, and miraculously made on such a low budget with such ridiculous constraints, and then Kevin Smith broke out of that and didn't know how the fuck to actually use his bigger budgets. And Bibbity Bobbity Boom you get absolute stinkers like all of the Jay and Silent Bob films, and Dogma.

they are both so foul and ugly and stinky looking but in the worst way possible. I can only excuse Jason Lee cause this was his skater era but Ben Affleck is a scourge on this earth, an absolute eyesore of a man. The most basic 'white man' I have ever seen.

no, actually, the 90s chanelled the 60s and 70s. 80s was more leaning towards the late 50s and early 60s (see Dirty Dancing). The 20 year cycle at play here. In the 70s, fashion from the 40s/50s was cool. My mom collected 50s blouses when she was a teenager in the 70s.
Internet is definitely cutting the 20 year cycle down to 15, even 10 years. But for mainstream trends its still the predictable direction of repetition.

pic rel: 90s delia's catalogue. The A-line shift dresses were hugely popular, as well as of course the platform sandals (very 70s).

Funny how for me Clerks is my least favorite Kevin Smith (Askewniverse) movie and Dogma is my favorite. Probably because I absolutely despise stories about ordinary people in ordinary settings and circumstances, I don't think that belongs in entertainment.

I'm not saying Dogma's premise is bad but the execution is pretty awful. It pretends to be nuanced but its just so tasteless. Also Clerks is hardly 'ordinary'. So much of it is absurdism played in a seemingly 'ordinary' context, and then all of it comes down to interpersonal issues. Also it is clearly a reference to Dante's inferno, and the way it references it isn't shoved in your face nor does it attempt to pander to those those who 'get it'. It just is a great well rounded work that knows what it is.

also simply off the character chemistry between everyone, Clerks is easily the superior film. It's naturalistic but the fact so much of the scenarios are absurd make that naturalism just work infinitely better. Dogma makes me cringe. I don't feel like any of the characters are meant to be interacting, and when they do, it's incredibly forced and cringeworthy. Just thinking of the chick main protagonist... What a flop of a performance. Even Alan Rickman stands out as a pretty average performer in it. Jay and Silent Bob are NOT charming, their quips are pretty disgusting and not in the harmlessly humorous way they were in Clerks. Dude. My last attempt at watching it I just couldn't make it through. Matt Damon is fine, Ben Affleck is fine but I can't stand his face. It just doesn't hold a flame to Clerks. Dogma is hardly even better than Mallrats, and thats only because it's less forgettable, owing to it's cringeworthy performances.

I don't know absurdism. Clerks is about a guy who works at a convenience store and his buddy who works at the video store and they just spend the day slacking off and talking about nothing. It's a good movie but it's about ordinary people in ordinary situations. Why even make a movie (or any other entertainment product) if it doesn't have any shootouts, monsters or space ships?
