DH and DHI are unwearable for me. Yes, yes I know that they are supposed to be for a man who doesnt care about chiches of masculinity, but who are we kidding here? You can wear a fragrance just for yourself, but you will be damaging the perception that other people have of you if its bad, if you wear it in the wrong season etc. With DHI and DH, people are just going to think you are gay or weak (I know its superficial, but thats just how it works, and Ive asked a few girls for their opinions, not one even liked DHI) unless you are 40 something years old and dont get out of a suit. And why would you care about what other people think of you? Well, especially when you are 20 like me, its important. Its important what prfessors on the university think of you, lawyers that you meet sometimes as a practice, potential clients, colleagues... we are not living alone in this world and we depend on other people.

>> No.17403734

>>17403713
Im not saying this to be mean or put you down, but DHI is an absolute compliment monster. It’s extremely low hanging fruit. To be honest other people enjoy it more than I enjoy it myself. I enjoy knowing that other people enjoy it. Have you considered that if it doesn’t give you compliments, DHI isn’t the problem, YOU are the problem. If DHI doesn’t get you compliments, nothing will.

Maybe you are just carrying yourself in a way that makes you creepy/unpleasant that people don’t want to give you a compliment. You should work on yourself. This is a very hard pill to swallow and I’m not saying this to be dick, I’m trying to help you and other anons improve yourselves.

It’s funny, the anons who tried DHI and didn’t like it because it didn’t get them compliments are outing themselves as creepy neckbeards that nobody likes.

Anons who enjoy DHI and gets compliments are diorchads that people aren’t scared to give a compliment because they aren’t creepy.

ok guys, i need your expertise. i tried pic related yesterday.
Today i can still smell it and by now i should only smell base notes right? (correct me if i'm wrong)
whatever is left of the smell gives me cocaine vibes, but sweetened.
i searched the web for the notes. it's a big clusterfuck with a lot of notes.

you would think so, but DHI has been genuinly my MOST COMPLIMENETED fragrance ever, and it has also been the only fragrance that felt like an actual needle mover when it came to dating, whilst other fragrances can add 0.25 - 0.5 if you had to put them on a scale, they complete the look, set the mood etc. DHI felt like it added 1.0 maybe even 1.25, which for just a fragrance is fucking ridiculous, and because of those experiences it boosted my confidence even more. Try it for yourself. It might just make you feel like a man for the first time in your life, and if you have never had a father, it might just make you understand how big is the hole in your psyche that you need to fill out yourself.

I owned Dior homme. About a year ago, after realizing i was almost out, I purchased "dior homme intense/eau de parfum). Both smell like heaven on earth (same with gucci pour homme II). the eau de toilette "pour homme" probably smells better to me (from my recollection), but it's hard to tell, my bottles are ages apart. both smell magnificent, masterpieces. you can say they smell like a "makeup bag", but what guy, gay or straight, knows what that smells like. what it smells like is heavenly powder and cacao. either way, it is heaven, masculine or feminine. wear some "dior homme" and embrace the fact that androgyny is perhaps the most timeless quality of all.

>> No.17403800

Some of you fags need a reality check, you've gone too far down the rabbit hole. You autistically obsess over fragrances and label them as being either good or shit (no middle ground), as being for summer or winter, for this occasion or that occasion, etc. The fact is 99% of fragrances smell nice and for the most part it doesn't matter what you spray on yourself. If you're attractive then smelling good is just the cherry on top (pretty much any fragrance will do). If you're some ugly loser it doesn't matter if you're wearing a ridiculously expensive niche fragrance or a mass-pleasing compliment-getter, ultimately you're still an ugly loser.

Yesterday I tried Dior homme parfum at work for the first time ( I work in a highway booth, a really closed and hot environment) and I was enjoying the fragrance a lot, but after a few hours I started to get some fecal notes and I was almost going to puke. I didn't even know where that came from, I went into fragrantica to see if someone even mentioned that because I'm aware that this fragrance evolves a lot and noone was saying anything even remotely similar that that so I assumed it was the mix with my body chemicals what was causing it (quite a hard pill to swallow as a frag head that your body chemistry has notes that makes you smell like shit) . The smell wasn't going away and I ended my shift thinking about swapping it for something fresher on Reddit.

Turns out I shat myself at work without noticing. My fucking chair has a big dent in the middle like a bad bicycle chair and it pressured my perineum area too hard that it got numb and it seems something leaked out by accident. One coworker when she came in the middle of the night so I could go to my break time asked me about my fragrance because the whole booth was smelling a lot and I told her it was Dior.

Now I think she was making fun of me.

Bros, just tried the Maison Margiela Replica 10 scent sampler and I'm in love with Springtime in the Park... can I pull it off as a young guy (that's on the feminine side)?
And most importantly, will it attract girls that are on the autism spectrum?
I also quite liked Under The Lemon tree, if you guys think that Springtime is too feminine I'm fine with going with that instead.

tested a bunch of frags today. guerlain vetiver, habit rouge (l'instinct or whatever too), heritage, multiple cartiers, nasomattos, nicolais, initios and cdgs. majority was mediocre or boring. ironically guerlain shalimar was the most interesting, sadly they didn't have jicky. jaipur boucheron pour homme was alright but i dont understand the hype
musc ravageur was really nice and portrait of a lady smelled unique at least.

>> No.17404648

Had the acqua version, really liked it as i enjoy easy to wear frags, so i didnt mind that people claimed its watered down. After a while i noticed the saltiness made it harder to wear casually, despite it being more watery.

Then i decided to sample Costa Azzura. WOW. So much better, so much more nuanced and just balanced, while still being fresh enough to wear in high heat. I definitely think it's one is the one to get, even for a casual fragrance.

I will say that as it dries down it gets progressively saltier, which gets it a little more "serious," but its still good stuff.

It's the frag I've known the longest; my dad used to wear it in the early 90s, and 6-year-old me somehow ended up with a small bottle of it back then. I used to spray it just to take sniffs because it smelled so good.
It's hard for me to think about it in terms of notes; it just smells like Drakkar Noir, like the essence of a clean, put-together grown-up man. The current formulation smells exactly like it did back then, though I can't speak to how the performance might have declined

And with this I'm done for the next six months. My collection is at a point I'm happy with, only looking to pick up a rough leather fragrance and I'll have something to represent every group. In June I'm going to re-evaluate, group everything into dislike/like/love and eliminate all the dislikes and probably some of the likes too. Then if I have any holes patch as necessary. If something new and interesting comes out I'll grab a decant because even 5ml of a fragrance will last over a year in the current rotation.
Feels good. Been collecting for decades, all my needs are fulfilled, my collection is robust but not excessive and I just don't feel the new to buy anything else.

https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Les-Indemodables/Escale-En-Indonesie-62329.html

One of my favorite fragrances of all time, manages to work in nearly every situation and setting while not being boring. I read an article on Fragrantica that claimed Escale was a niche version of Sauvage and I dismissed that at first because I can be snobbish. But it's true, it doesn't smell like Sauvage mind you but its a niche workhorse that actually cheaper than Sauvage and performs well too. Got it from randomly sampling.

Same with Divine L'Homme Sage. If you haven't you'll be pleasantly surprised at how great it smells. Very unique combination of notes. Litchi, cardamom, immortelle and cedar in a masculine, airy woody fragrance. One of the only frags I've ever seen where the "reminds me of" section is blank. And for good reason, it doesn't really remind me of anything else.

It's a little sad how the bulk of the conversation here revolves around the same scents. With the rise in cost of designer frags (140-180 for Sauvage Elixir and BdC Parfum) the gap in price between niche and designer is gone. Especially when you look at CdG frags averaging $110-120. Escape en Indonesie was $120. He'll look at the prices of the bottles I just ordered.

For anyone "bored" in this hobby just go to Luckyscent, go to the brands list and work your way down alphabetically. If it costs less than $300 for a bottle and seems interesting, buy a sample. The samples cost $4-7 and will get you 2-3 wears. I think beyond $300 you get diminishing returns for the money you spend.

As already mentioned, OG Le Male is a shadow of its former self. Still good, but not what it used to be. I wore this when I was young and I don't know why people think this belongs in the past, it's still a frag for a wide range of ages which starts somewhere in the late teens.
Le Male Le Parfum reminds me a lot more of the OG Le Male I had back in the days, because the opening of OG Le Male was very similar. It's linear, spicier and warmer than Le Male (which is very fresh in comparison), but I prefer it over Le Male by now.
Ultra Male is ultrasweet. For me, it was too sweet. I had a feeling like this would be something a zoomer would shill on their frangrance tiktok. As it is with supersweet and powerful fragrances like this one, it is well received by others, though.
Le Beau Le Parfum was okay, haven't smelled regular Le Beau. Might be too sweet for me, though. I don't mind vanilla and sweetness, but I associate Le Male with a bit more masculinity than this has (same with Ultra Male). I'm sure that's just my nostalgia talking.
Fleur du Male was one of the best masculine white florals. Probably had cancer juice in it and got discontinued for that.
Haven't tested any other, there are too many.

I feel my miniscule collection is lacking, what should I get to make my collection more versatile.

>> No.17405466

nope. first there was the original dior homme, with the iris. big hit in the 2000s
then there were flankers (new fragrances based on the original and sharing some of its scent profile) - the sweeter, heavier dior homme intense and the leathery, even heavier dior homme parfum
and then Dior decided the original dior homme is getting outsold by its flankers, so they released a completely different scent by that name - dior homme 2020, which has no iris and basically nothing in common with most of the line

yeah, it's dumb, but just an extreme example of how modern designer frags work - often everything is released as a flanker even if it could be an original frag by itself

you do not have anything suitable for winter, dates, and you do not have 'masterpiece" a stunner of sorts, you legit have 3 blue fragrances, 1 summer frag and 1 either date night or daily spring / autumn frag in the one depending if it's EDT or EDP.

It's quite messy so don't feel stupid.

The original iris heavy "Dior home eau de toilette" is now called "Dior homme original". Available at Dior's website and can be found else where if lucky.

"Dior homme intense" is the eau de Parfum version and is readily available.

"Dior homme Parfum" have an added leather note. Can be bought at Dior site. Hard to find same as "original".

New "Dior homme 2020" is what you find in all the stores now. Have no iris note and smell nothing like the ones mentioned above. Hence the confusion.

Then you have Dior homme Cologne and the dior homme sport flankers.

Black Orchid Tom Ford
Ombré Leather Tom Ford
Noir Extreme Tom Ford
Tuscan Leather Tom Ford
Fahrenheit Le Parfum Dior
Fan Your Flames Nishane
Grand Soir Maison Francis Kurkdjian
Musc Ravageur Frederic Malle
Dior Homo Intense
By the Fireplace Maison Martin Margiela
Jizz club Maison Martin Margiela
African Leather Memo Paris
Le male Le parfum Jean Paul Gaultier
or any of the stronger with you flankers.
Most of those will work fine as a daily scent for winter or a date scent.
You could also try exploring some classics like Shalimar, Jicky, Mitsouko.

Vintage Grey Flannel just came in the mail, it's a 90s French Fragrances formula bottle. This shit is fucking STRONG, its full bodied and rich compared to the current juice which is a bit sharper and "hollow," and the violet smells a lot like the violet from GIT and Fahrenheit. The juice is also a deep green compared to the current juice which is clear, and there are bits of solid particulate matter (maybe oakmoss, probably just precipitate from storage) floating around. Take the Grey Flannel pill bros

I love Grey Flannel, especially the earthy, powdery, green Opening(probably the Galbanum and Iris). How's the vintage differs from the recent formulation? I hope the oakmoss is more amped up, less tonka bean and almond.

>>17405625
More oakmoss, more violet, and yes less tonka bean and almond. Like I said the violet is stunningly similar to that of GIT/Fahrenheit. It's pretty fucking legit stuff, perfect for this rainy weather on the east coast right now. I'm in correspondence with the guy who writes FromPyrgos and he told me that the current EA formula does get pretty similar to vintage after macerating with air in the bottle for a while though.

It does kind of resemble the smell of urinal cakes, but not actual urine. The drydown has a less pleasant bitter muskiness, but I still like it. A hot girl once told me I smelled like a "sexy grandma" when I was wearing it. I asked her if it smelled like piss at all and she said "WTF no!!" My full bottle of Bois Imperial came in and I'm finally forced to accept certain people are noseblind to certain aromas.
Bois smells exactly like Ganymede minus the sweaty note and with some violet turned down. It isn't a clone of Grey Vetiver,it doesn't smell like grey Vetiver....unless your nose blind to something. If you take out the musky Akaigalawood you're left with a green Vetiver fragrance that probably smells close to Grey Vetiver.

Akaigalawood is powerful and has a very distinct smell and a strong influence on the character of a fragrance when it's used. That's why Bois Imperial and Ganymede smell so similar even though they only share one note, the Akaigalawood runs rampant over everything else and makes the two frags smell similar. But if you go blind to that smell Bois Imperial and Ganymede won't smell anything alike and you'll think people are crazy if they compare the two.

As far as absurd notes like “gunpowder” go, it’s quite close. It’s a very strong, almost irony start that somewhat reminds me of liquorice (the real stuff)/gunpowder mixed. If I think about stuff I have sampled in the last few years, Iron Duke is definitely in the top 5 of those fragrances that I kept going back to although the sample had sat in the drawer for a few good months.

CDNIM Limited Edition or Pure Parfum?

>> No.17406754

I have both and they are essentially the same. Maybe the limited edition is a bit smoother but that's about it

100% based. If you're looking for recs I think Le 3e Homme de Caron and Chanel Antaeus would be nice additions to your lineup

Yeah Ive seen a few people say the same and then others saying the limited edition is way better. I cant find the LE in stock really so my hand may be forced anyway.

Go for the pure parfum without regrets. In fact I will spray now both on each hand for you and I will see if I can tell the difference in a few hours or if the performance is different

your incapability to differentiate between people that are kids mentally and real autism does not make your statement true. No female has autism. And quite obviously troons are not female.

shit is genuinly infuriating, foids will do everything they can do gain attention, you need to point that shit out quickly and nip it at the bud. and it's not like they need an excuse another excuse for their behaviour, nobody expects a female to be an adult anyway.

Nah, I would still sample Iron Duke unless you are 100% sure that you are willing to go through the whole bottle. Bianchi is a fantastic choice here, her extraits are fantastic and extremely potent; Under My Skin is my favourite but it's more on the ambery/cinnamony side of things, try The Black Knight at least.

you just ripped a statement straight out of your ass and are now presenting it as fact, why the fuck would females be incapable of being autistic?
