>he's wearing a watch with easily visible logos

I have never been attracted to the notion that a "brand" is cool. At best the product or service produced is cool, but the *image* of a brand being cool -- no way man. There is nothing cool to me about having an Apple computer, a Gucci bag, Fendi shoes, Dolce and Gabbanna pants, beyond the functional purpose and aesthetics of those products themselves. People who wear brand names emblazoned on their clothes -- "Guess Jeans", "The North Face" -- you are walking billboards. You *are paying that company* for the privilege of advertising their goods! How little must you think of yourself to not only give this service for free -- but pay for it!

Advertisements themselves -- I believe have a deliterious affect on human psychology. Television, internet, radio, signs, even email advertisements are constantly assaulting our senses, sight and hearing with things to buy -- trying to convince us using humor, sex and style that we will be better after trading our money for what they are selling. I am completely intolerant of advertisements in any form -- I change the radio in the car when an ad comes on, I don't watch television and I always have an ad blocker on my browser when using the web, I paid an extra $20 to remove ads from my Kindle ebook -- I really hate ads.

Now back to watches -- How much of a fucking narcassist does a watch maker need to be to put his fucking name on the watch face?? They want you to subconsciously see their name every fucking time you check the time! How often is that? fifteen, fifty times a day? This is after you pay potentially hundreds of dollars for the watch?? I will not be coerced to worship a brand -- especially a watch. And I will not advertise it to others who see my wrist. A brand of clothing or watch is not *my* brand and as such it needs to shut the hell up about who made it -- because otherwise it's off brand -- off *my* brand.

It was a total fluke but I’m always on the lookout for such things, coworker bought a very clean early 2000s benz from a man who was going to a home. I found out he had zero family and was an executive for Samsung, i then asked if he had anything else, guns, watches, ect. He said he didn’t know but he had some “1980s race car” & I said I’d buy it on the spot. The guy came up w/ the figure & i obviously agreed. 5k isn’t the total price tho, needs about 20k in work & the guy (who had dementia) had a few weird requests like that he had to keep the steering wheel as his dead wife’s hands touched them. The one that sold for $175 is pretty much the best example in existence but once all the work is done mine will be close, again only 250 where ever made.

Like, if I wanted to put in a modern 2 hand movement, could that be done? I'd assume I'd have to fabricate somehow (maybe 3d print) the plastic piece that centers the movement in the case, but would I have to do anything else? Would the old hands fit on a new movement?

the datejust is a 36mm watch. the 41mm watch is only acceptable for a haute horologie sports watch like a RO or a nautilus where the size is meant to make it recognizable from a distance. the datejust isn’t that, it’s just an average steel sports watch, it shouldn’t be trying hard to be flashy or recognizable.
