I cannot tell for certain because it's not something constant and I had it for less than a year. It depends on the temperature for exemple, so it will deviate more if you don't wear it.(+/-10spy actually)
But at my current rate of 3 days/week of wearing it, it is -0.3-5 seconds after 4 months. So I'd say it's a fair estimation.

Reasonably cheap and way nicer then they have any business being. Especially pagani design. You can check YouTube reviews for most models just to make sure they don't have any glaring issues but usually they are just very decent watches for $100-$150

Anything by San Martin or Reef Tiger. Any real Sea-Gull watch. Any abalone dialed watches or titanium/bronze watches. The tourbillon is not as eye catching in real life as you'd think, its barely different to a open heart. It's cool they can produce a tourbillon for that price, and it's even cooler that the movement is actually reliable in terms of time keeping but the novelty for me wasn't intriguing enough to keep. If Sea-Gull made a dual-axis gyro tourbillon that would be really cool, I'd give that a go but I don't expect they'd be able to pull it off as cheap.

>More likely the studios have an understanding with any big brand that if they want that brand's product placement bucks in any future movie they have to play nice
Essentially this. A lot of brands do paid advertising, usually massive sums, so studios want to keep them happy. Omega and Rolex being used in Bond films has kept them massively popular for years, with the Submariner in Dr No essentially making that model one of the most desired watches on the planet ever since.

>Worth remembering that the bond franchise used a lot of seikos in a view to a kill
True. Their Octopussy watch is still desired to this day, with Casio even making an homage to it that people buy in droves since the Seiko is so expensive now.

How a product is portrayed in media is very important to these companies.

Should I get or the seiko arnie? Yeah it's a thicc boi (15mm) but it's only 40mm ø, down from 1k to 250 and has a RONDA R-150 movement, and from what I gather that's a great price for that movement. I went to have a look at a tag heuer monaco today because it has the same thickness and it didn't bother me as much as I thought it would, in fact I thick the deep blue would look better aince the bezel breaks up the sides and stops it from looking too slabby. The lugs kinda get me though ngl

for shitter hoarders there are several factors playing into it: 1, it's easy, it's available, if you end up not liking it you can give it away without losing a lot of money. 2, it's mentally harder to carry a 15k watch on your wrist than a 1k watch, if that is a substantial amount of money to you. 3, it's mentally harder to make the choice for one bold purchase and dedicate to it, e.g. saving. I pick two each week, one dressier and one sportier, and swap out on Sunday.

They really aren't. If you're a casual you don't need to know your heart rate. If you're serious and fit but not some devoted athlete you already knows what it feels like when your heart rate is 80,100, 120, 150, 180, 190.

If you are one of the thin sliver of the population that is super serious to the point you really need to see your heart rate accurately you'll get a chest strap monitor for $20-$40 and get results that are more accurate.

Literally everything. You don't have to charge a Garmin (or most smartwatches) constantly. Modern Garmins can go for multiple weeks or even months without charging depending on usage and model. No, most people cannot just ascertain that their heart rate is 120 vs 130 when running. That's fucking retarded and so are you. Sleep monitoring is not a meme. Sleep quality is not a meme. Modern smart watches are typically within 10% accuracy of HRMs which is good enough.

>> No.17374874

>Yeah, because you used a HRM to correlate "feel" with a number, dumbass

Correct, at which point a smart watch is useless to you as a HRM. If your argument is "there is some benefit to having used a HRM ever" sure, agree. But you don't need to drop $200-$800 on a smart watch to briefly experience heart-rate monitoring. Buy a strap for something accurate, or use a treadmill monitor from time to time.

>you'll get a chest strap monitor for $20-$40 and get results that are more accurate.
>Sure, until they break

If you manage to use a $20 HRM to the point they break then there's generally not a need for the HRM anymore, as you now have a "feel" for what your HR is at any point.

You don't need continual HR readings for months and months.

What's is your argument? "You should spend $200-$800 on a smart watch to get HR monitoring for a year or two because that's way better than $20-$40 on a more accurate strap because the strap will break eventually?"

>> No.17374879

>>17374874
I don't need an "argument", other than that you have none

I use an HRM because it's the most objective way to measure my exertion regardless of whether I'm having a "good" day or a "bad" day, if you've ever actually trained and I mean trained not just "gotten all sweaty" you'd know that gut feel can be wildly off the mark based on your subjective sense of wellness on any given day

My argument is pretty clear- a smart watch for fitness is a pricey gimmick good for no one. The information monitored isn't actionable for most people, and for the slim portion of the population that's a competitive athlete that would want more intense monitoring you'd want something more accurate, so you'd still not use a smart watch.

>pace, distance, splits
Handled fine by dumb watches
> maps
Unneeded unless you just run around to random locations outside, and if you run random places you're a casual, in which case you don't need the information in the first place. GPS maps are going to be shitty for calculating the distance of your route, to the point that if distance actually mattered enough to you in the first place you'd get the actual official measurements for a particular route, as most trails, parks and tracks make readily available.

> centralized data collection of historical workouts
Not actionable, and if you were trying to make some actionable decision on the basis of historical workout information you wouldn't use the shitty UI of a smart watch compile that or analyze it.

Again, it's all either "you generally don't need it, and if you actually did need it you wouldn't use a smart watch to get it."

Even if your own watch is super accurate, it doesn't matter, as
