Mean while you memes Omega who sells watches, priced very well in the market, great movement, finished and build quality.

I really don't get the hate for Omega here, it wasn't like this a year or so ago (it's like 1 or 2 guys posting all day), can yours not afford an Omega? and it's all seiko fags posting, Omega is pretty pro watch collector / guys who like watches, the brand has history and icons with non of the Rolex stigma.

I just mean, a few shit on Omega so hard here and guess over an Explorer 1/2 or what ever Rolex. What for a brand in real life wouldn't give you the time of day. I have owned Omega 30 years and there service is amazing, I've had watches cleaned and regulated for free (out of warranty), free gifts and I haven't even bought in that store (wallets, loupes, pens).

The problem with Omega is you can tell their marketing teams have way too much power over the company. It's been the case since the early 1990s with the release of the Speedmaster 300 and that whole Bond thing, but these past few years it's been out of control.
>MoonSwatch
>multiple Rolex knock-offs (colored Aqua Terra, that Seamaster 300 that is a straight copy of the rose gold Yacht Master, etc)
>awful brand ambassadors
And possibly the worst things in my opinion
>distasteful designs
A good example of that is the Bond Seamaster. It's a design from the 90s but they splattered it with fauxtina lume, trying to mimic a watch from the 60s. To me, that's typically the kind of shit that sets Omega in the "mall watch" category.

Alright lads. I'm trying to resist the urge to consooom, but my local shop has a Casio Duro with the fish on it. The blue/black is ight, but it's coming in at $120 bucks. Would have preferred the all black as a second dive option to my blue Citizen EcoDrive.

I hear they're good watches though, in terms of dive beaters. Thoughts?

The Orient's case is indeed quite a bit flatter than the tall and bulbous SNXJ90, but the Orient has a domed glass so it's still not entirely flat. You're probably right though and I'll enjoy the 38.4mm variant. Especially since the 36mm is impossible to get your hands on.

Yes. It is better looking and it's the iconic Rolex sports watch

>I'm looking to get my first Rolex but want something that is versatile enough for a one watch collection
That's a different question. Because the Explorer is so small and dainty, you can wear it as a quasi-dress watch. In that regard, you can have an Explorer as an only watch.

However, if you can afford a sports Rolex, you should be able to afford a dress watch too.
If you were to pair up the Sub with a Tank, Reverso, Santos-Dumont, or any other classic dress piece, you'd have a GOAT pairing.
You don't even need to spend that much on the dress piece.

- are just wealthy enough to be able to afford an entry level piece
- French
- butchy lesbians who want to wear a masculine watch but still have skinny wrists.
- contrarians who think liking a non-Sub/GMT/Daytona Rolex makes them quirky and unique.

Very durable, sure, it's just that you have to think about what you're getting.
They're not terribly impressive as a status symbol.

Generally i agree, but tudor has been making some much better looking watches lately. The pelagos and the pelagos 39 especially is fantastic, the black bay 58, the newer chronographs, hopefully they make a 36mm version of the new ranger.
But yeah the black bay 36, the black bay gmt, whatever that integrated bracelet thing is don't do anything for me. They really need a tudor equivalent of the OP, i don't think the bezel less black bays really scratch the same itch

can confirm. I get compliments on all my shitters quite a lot. Got a SRPD like picrel and people say "nice watch" all the time, especially if you have it on a nice looking strap. I got mine for £130 off ebay and as long as a watch doesn't look cheap and made of plastic or some gold coloured tacky fake watch then most normies will think it is interesting. Show them the movement through the clear caseback and their mind is blown every time.
