I've always been drawn to this kind of style, but thinking it thoroughly, it doesn't really express anything, it isn't "dadá", it's not "Bowie-esque" either, it's some kind of dead corpse walking with a pathetic-kitsch energy to it, perhaps it could be its very own statement of the world, perhaps one of decay, and strange "decadence". For Me, it's necessary to stand out in the crowd and be distinct. If it's not special, if you look like every other person in the crowd, it's not really "fashion", it's just fitting in, and that's boring. By the style's very nature, I must agree, it is certainly alien and strange and intentionally so. It is meant to draw your attention for better or for worse.

I found the robe in a thrift store but it wasn't until way later I found out it was actually a piece of someone's cosplay. I still like it though, so I kept it.

The whole outfit comes together into something new anyway so I don't really care that it's a cosplay piece. It stands out and gets compliments so I'm happy.

There's not a single tag anywhere on the garment. Not even a stamped-on one. I'd guess it certainly came from one of those chinese sites that sells cosplay shit like picrel which I found on AliExpress.

What I'm most curious about is that someone apparently got bored of it one day and chose to give it to a thrift store.
