i've personally never been a fan of rosen-x after seeing some of the photos people posted on the discord and in here of fucked up stitching, quality seems to be really hit or miss imo, same with the designs (but then again, the same goes for enfin leve, guerilla group, acronym etc.). but when the silhouette is on point, it is ON POINT.

Recently copped the ACG Alpine in black (not my photo) - great jacket but the collar is kind of awkward, if you are in any conditions other than snowy cold day the funnel neck looks like of anime cosplay and if you unzip it the front of the collar flops around a lot. Anyone else have the jacket and figure out a less awkward way to wear it in milder temperatures? Or you just avoid it and go for something like a bomber?

i used to own both the acg alpine and the j43a but i sold both for exactly that reason. the collar looks dope in photos (well, to me at least) but it's completely useless. if you're wearing it down, you can't wear any earbuds, because the collar will push them out. if you wear the hood up, you won't hear or see shit and will have to '89 batman stiff neck your way through the world. and it will never look as well as in product shots because the hood/collar never holds the shape.

Asking here because I like the style, and maybe one of you know something. Pretty much all the boots/shoes in tech outfits in these insta and promo photos are for summer and early autumn seasons. i don't think there's a blanket statement for whether you should buy it. it's a very definite " it depends".
like i wouldn't recommend the j87-ws if it is your first acronym piece and i wouldn't recommend acronym as your first more expensive fashion purchase either. if money isn't an issue and you already have a sense of fashion, style, proportions etc, i'd say it then depends on where you live/what climate you move in. i've personally used my j87 as a "doing anything in the rain"-jacket, but it's not warm on its own (so living in london you might be fine, but if you were in finland i'd say go for an insulated jacket instead).

let me retract a bit. i wouldn't recommend acronym as your first more expensive fashion purchase because the higher price and the promise of "better function" are things that set unreasonable expectations for a piece of clothing in my opinion.
in the end, even something like the j87 is "just a jacket". yes, it's made from maybe more expensive and "better performing" material with a lot of useful functions that your typical 200€ mall rainjacket won't have and it might look a lot cooler than one too (subjective, i know, but ultimately it's the style that draws me personally to acronym, not necessarily the function), but it is just a jacket.
at the risk of this being a "not your personal blogpost"-post, i started my fashion journey with streetwear, got into rick owens and yohji and other more "luxury avantgarde stuff" and now am all in into acronym. but i feel like having bought expensive rick jackets kind of levels your expectations for what a jacket should or can do for you. and having gone through a bit of fashion stuff will hopefully mean you have a better understanding of how clothes fit you and what proportions work for you.
but then again the good thing about acronym or other luxury brands is that you can almost always without a fault simply resell your stuff should you not be happy with it at no loss. life time free repair is also very neat and something i've found useful in the past 10 years. but yeah, that would be my perspective

It apparently is from the 90s/80s, which I only found out after googling the "camel travel" line it was sold in back then, can not find any info on this specific jacket though. It came in great condition and the design is mostly neutral branding-wise (I hate those giant logos on clothing). I'd say they're "ok" at best. I've had mine for about 1.5 years and after about 6 months both inner heals and the bend points on the outside delaminated. I also had a really weird smell problem. They got completely wet and they had an ungodly stench to them for about 4 months causing my feet to stink as well (I don't have foot odor problems). The smell problem went away after I stopped wearing them for about a month. It was so bad that I couldn't drive my car wearing them and I kept them in front of my house door because of the smell.

That being said after a short break in period they are quite comfortable, and the soles are pretty tough, they've saved me from getting a nail or two through the foot. I wear them around my shop and they've come into contact with oils and solvents and stood up to them well, and they don't get too slippy when the floor is oily. I've also done quite a bit of light to medium hiking in them, they do well there too.

All in all it's an ok shoe. I don't think I'll be getting another pair of these after they're done for though. I'm looking at the Viktos Overbeach Sneaker now.
