Wow, /frag/ still has people with taste - great picks anon. Is Rostracto included in the Rogue catalogue? How is Maruyama? Seems nice based on notes, but knowing Prin I wouldn't trust on the notes alone. I think Pardon is the best pick out of Nasomatto's choice; I pulled the trigger on Baraonda, but it's so strong that I very rarely get to wear it. Think I need to get some rewears on it.

I'm sorry you fell for the Aventus meme in the current age (assuming you got that bottle after 2018). I love The One EdP even though it's a bit weak and BdC is a no brainer. Yes it has rostracto. I haven't smelled a lot of Prin Lomros but Maruyama and Natsumeku were my favorites. Both are Japanese inspired but I decided to go with Maruyama. To me, Natsumeku smelled cleaner, fresher, almost kind of detergent-y, whereas Maruyama is spicy, herbal and floral. It smells vaguely edible, like opening up a spice cabinet. To me its not a super challenging scent and not as out-there as some of Prin's other stuff. I recommend it.

Ok. so just a general question . Last week I picked up a bottle of Tobacco Vanilla from a department store. I opened it up today and seems like there was a minor leakage.

Shall I return/claim it?

6g is I think missing - does this equal to 5.1 ml?

How much does a bottle of 100 ml usually contain ml? I suppose there is some real margin tolerance - do you have any idea?

I tested out the cologne and it lasts like 14 hours which is outrageously good.

Please let me know, since it does not allow me to sleep at night an can't find it out over the internet.

Also the atomizer does not fit in snug on that 100 ml - there is a slight gap. do you think it's okay or is my batch in general faulty?

Wondering about your experiences,

Black afgano reminds me a lot of fucking fabulous.
I’ve also recently tried carnal flower, portrait of a lady, and promise.
Carnal flower being the best (but with poor performance), PoaL being a massive letdown and Promise being nauseating for the first 3 hours but actually decent in the drydown.
Got some le labo and a penhaligon’s portrait set coming tomorrow.
Honestly when I got into this the first two frags I got were BDC and Aventus.
Both were good but Aventus blew my mind and my reasoning was “what are the odds that I just happened to pick the most amazing frag first? There are probably tons of amazing frags out there!”
Next I got fucking fabulous which seemed to confirm my intuition that there were some really special, unique and pleasant frags to be found.
But after that everything has been pretty much shit.
This is a fun exercise but ultimately I’ll probably return to Aventus for SS and FF for FW.

In terms of the scent? Lipsticky iris blast in the opening with a nice powdery earthy-woody drydown. The iris doesn't go away but turns down two or three notches, cedar comes in. impossible to quantify "gayness" in a fragrance. it's not very feminine, if that worries you. women don't seem to buy it, compared to other masculine fragrances. pic related, just some fragrances i picked from parfumo. mitsuoko and the shalimar extrait have even higher male ownership than shalimar. does that mean a girl wearing shalimar smells gay or masculine? not really, but that's just my opinion.

tom ford tuscan leather
tom ford oud wood

tom ford neroli portofino

creed aventus

creed green irish tweed

The only one i really loved was tobacco vanille. Other than that i tought angels share and viking were pretty good. The rest was not that good i think. I thought alexandria 2 smelled really good, but it's way to strong for me i did one spray and smelled it even after 24 hours and a shower. What should i sample next, any good recommendations? Look at all the recommendations but they're hard to find/expensive for shipping but I was able to narrow it down to 3:
Ghazi Oud Swiss Arabian https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Swiss-Arabian/Ghazi-Oud-56486.html
Velvet Oud Lattafa https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Lattafa-Perfumes/Velvet-Oud-60262.html
Shaghaf Oud Abyad Swiss Arabian https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Swiss-Arabian/Shaghaf-Oud-Abyad-54282.html
The Ghazi sounded the most interesting in terms of notes but I didn't see many reviews about it so not sure. Any thoughts/recs?

Carved oud smells great on paper, i'll have to try it on skin on a cool day soon. BI is surprisingly up my alley. The basil and patchouli smell like my childhood, kinda reminds me of my mom in a good way, unlike Sedley which I smelled and thought "this smells like the rosemary soap she uses, it's not something i can wear personally". might get a 10ml of BI to give a few wears soon.

I'm the guy who gets terrible longevity out of DHI despite liking it, so something else than that please. Explorer is probably the best smelling alternative, the opening is not great (better than CDNIM) but the drydown is very nice. Perfect general frag you can wear whenever.

CDNIM is like Aventus but extremely loud and not that smooth but really quite close otherwise

Cedrat Boisee is slightly different, is much more musk heavy on my skin and a bit more sweet instead of smoky/spicy. I feel like I'm in Ayleid ruins from Oblivion when I wear this kek. Lasts forever and is a bit loud.

Aventus is exactly as described, much smoother than all the other alternatives. My sample is from batch 21W01 and it lasted a good 12+ hours on me, and I could smell it after a shower too so it's still a pretty strong frag.
