SBs are very strong. I usually skate through vans in a couple months, typical kickflip stress pattern on my leading foot. I had a pair of SBs last from the beginning of spring to the middle of fall before the ollie guard tore through. Vulcanized cupsole, good ankle support. These rule.

Every pair of chucks i've ever owned were completely destroyed in less than a year. But this offbrand pair I bought at walmart when I was on vacation for like less the $20, are still in good shape after like 3 years, and I throw them on as beaters. I bought a couple pairs of 70's when they went really cheap and fucking hell they're the most uncomfortable fucking things I've ever put on my feet. Having to loosen all the laces to put them on is bad enough, but then they rub your heel and ankle raw for no damn reason.
